CHAPTER 58
Damien refused to believe Skai, who was injured, would have disappeared without a trace.
Racing out of the alleyway, he glanced around but found no trace of her. Not even the car which was parked close by was around.
Did somebody beat him to it?
Was she still safe?
Several questions twirled in his mind, replaying different scenarios and excuses as to why it happened.
Damien was tempted to return to that alley and break more bones in the man's body.
At the very least, he believed doing that would yield something and get him some answers. The image of the man's scared expression and frantic heartbeat made him halt in his quest.
There was no way he knew.
Before stalking his prey, the prey had been searching for Skai. That only meant she had gone away.
Throwing all thoughts to the back of his mind, Damien went for Skai's bag, before racing to his car. He got in and drove off.
