CHAPTER 52
Forgetting how the call went, Skai calmed her worried thoughts, deciding to focus on something else—work.
Even though her body felt weak—dark circles all over her face, Skai decided to push through.
It was another day at work and the last day to finish all the work that needed her input.
Adjusting her sitting posture, Skai reached for the keyboard when the chime of her phone's notification rang out, pulling her attention to it.
"A new message."
She looked away, attempting to concentrate on her work when a thought came to mind.
What if it was Yasmin?
Skai grabbed her phone in a rush and unlocked it. Her breathing hitched once she locked eyes with the name carrying the message.
'Shane.' she mentally noted...
Her finger trembled as she opened the message to read its content: "Sorry for what happened the other day, stay safe."
