His voice reverberated, resembling a resonant bass. "Tell me, what was the ruckus about at my party, yesterday evening?" His eyes glinted, adding thick air to the living room, strong enough to choke on.
My Jayden narrowed his eyes further, a single furrow appearing between his brows. His voice, previously a deep rumble, hardened into a chilling command. "I'm waiting?"
The question hung in the air, heavy and suffocating.
The three brothers, who usually had an image of cocky confidence, stood shrunken under their father's gaze. The silence in the room stretched, punctuated only by the nervous shufflings of their feet.
The tension coiled tighter as a sharp rap echoed from the doorway. Shortly after, Mr. Jayden's assistant entered. He silently approached their father with a silver iPad gleaming in his hand.
