The moment his soulful brown eyes locked on her, his brows knitted.
He had made a proper check earlier on and found her presence not. However, when he chose to relax thinking she wouldn't show up, he met her.
One look at her slim frame and he could tell what she was doing—hiding or looking for somewhere to hide like she did prior.
"You just couldn't stay away, could you? Or was your attention-seeking syndrome too much to contain?"
Skai found herself unable to move, with the surroundings starting to blur as she absorbed the hurtful words.
Every letter, word and sound that came out of his mouth felt like tiny daggers to her heart. Why?
Every muscle in her body tensed, her heart hammered against her ribs like a trapped bird as her carefully constructed facade began to crumble.
