"Congratulations"
"Your performance has been noted, and your outcomes have been decided" the very animated statue boisterously announced. The surroundings at the top of the steps could be described as unnatural. The trees where of ivory trunk and limbs adorned with golden leaves, the pearlescent purple-pink grass that swayed in the breeze that accompanied the songs of the birds. The top of the stairs are beyond anything the boy had ever heard of.
"Now please call out your name and race." Said The statue figure.
A girl with black hair and the refined cloths of a noble spoke first with her chin held high "Aria Augustus, human"
The crowd of 16 people grew quite for a moment before a boy with Red hair and flamboyant cloths spoke. "Thomas Gearheart, noble human." His words were spoken with grandeur and confidence a entitled son of some great house would have.
"I asked for your race not position boy!" The stone statue angrily bellowed. After a minute of silence a boy with green spiky hair started to speak, after him many followed, saying their names and race, no one saying anything extra after the previous incident.
The boy was up, after a second to gather the courage, he spoke. "Clay, a human sir"
"Can't be missing your last name now!" The voice of Tod caught Clay off guard "quick you Clay Eden from now on!"
"Ah sir my last name is Eden" Clay blurted in compliance with god Tods will. Clay liked his new last name — while he was not a noble and others may see him as a wannabe, his name was bestowed by the almighty Tod! How could he not love it.
"Forgetting things will not benefit you in life. Learn better, do better." The reply came from the stone man in front, witch then raised its hand "do any Patrons find the persons before them suitable"
A long silence followed the calling to above before multiple aureole of varying designs came down upon a few individuals of the crowd. One of white serpents and dripping poison, another of a compressed ocean, it's own ecosystem inside like miniature world. A few seconds later the lights and holy symbols disappeared with the aureole and the individual picked.
"Boy I haven't shown myself as i can't stay with you… just bear through it. An old gramps owes me a favor." transmitted Tod to Clay.
"To all those still here. when you return to the church in which brought you here… your story, your fate, is decided by you" and with the parting words of the stone man, Clays vision faded.
Unknown to Clay, as Reward for enduring all the way through, he wasn't illiterate anymore and his luck had been given a boost due to some gods of luck likeing him.

Clay awoke back by the tree from before, a box of runes scrolling before him.

\\\\ AN end ////
Clay now understood why the adventurers where always looking into space thinking hard, it had to be because of this box! It's must be what they called the system!
Little did Clay know they couldn't see there stats but only there skills, name, race, and total net worth. He had no clue of the misfortune he had evaded with the help of Tod.
'Hello Tod' Clay tried to talk in his head to reach Tod. But to his surprise, Tod was gone.
Clay knew that he should act upon his new found ability and do what adventurers do. Fight!
And fight he would, after taking a long hike to a nearby field of slimes.
////////////////////////////\//////
Blue and red light painted the surrounding buildings. a man with a horrible looking mullet, a badly shaven beard and a stained dress shirt watched as a handsome man with a white shirt, jeans and a well proportioned face was cuffed and brought towards a police car.
"You've gone too far Tod"
"At least I had fun before I was kicked out. Plus you can't revert my changes… you know you can't Dalton"
"Yes, I can't revert them." Dalton turned towards the building beginning to walk. " but I can kill them"
////////////////////\///////////////////
Approaching the field of slimes, Clay found a tent with a table. With nobody sitting out front at the table. Clay walked past the table to find racks of simple weapons ranging from spears to swords to staves, some tables to the side even had books bound in chains and balls made of crystal.
Sweeping the tent with curiosity Clay was startled when the system popped up again.
Quest: mythic rocks to basic sticks
Difficulty: E
Objectives:
#1 pick out your weapon of choice
#2 secret objective (these will be hidden in the future)
Using his new skill to understand the language of the world, Clay understood that the system wanted him to pick out a weapon. With such a wide variety of options Clay went around and inspected all the different weapons to gain a better understanding. Many weapons peaked his interest from throwing disks to a war-Scythe.
After going through the seemingly infinite options, the few that stood Clay where the spears, one-handed longsword, and a giant decrepit stick that a had a green gem that leaked suffocating smoke.
all the weapons came in a myriad of different options, from different colors to exotic shapes. Some with no adornments some having tassels. In the end Clay picked up a war scythe. The war scythe was Pole-arm weapon that Clay had seen many high ranking military men carry while they marched through town.
Name: beginners War scythe
Grade: simple
Description: The war scythe can be compared to a halberd, except that it's blade orientation is vertical instead of horizontal like a traditional farming scythe. This allowed for easy exploitation of gaps in armor from a distance especially by the neck, and legs. It's capabilities in taking out cavalry can also be noted
Gaining a newfound understanding of the war scythe, Clay held it in a many griping stances until he found the on that felt best.
Clay then set out onto the field to kill slimes. The weakest monster he knew of.
