Lucius blinked his eyes a few times, trying to adjust to the bright light streaming in through the window. He sat up, groaning as he rubbed his head. Memories began to flood back to him. He had cast the Chrono Reversio, the magic that had taken him back in time, to when he was just seven years old.
He looked around the room, taking in the familiar surroundings. It was his childhood bedroom. He hadn't been in this room for years, not since he left home to pursue his magical studies.
Lucius climbed out of bed and made his way over to the mirror. He gasped at the sight of his young self staring back at him. It was strange to see himself as a child again, with all the memories of his adult life still fresh in his mind.
He began to wonder what he should do now that he was back in time. Should he try to change the course of history, or should he simply live his life again, knowing what he now knew?
As Lucius was about to try sensing mana, a knock interrupted his concentration.
"Young master, Lady Delith is here!" the maid announced, keeping a respectful distance from the room.
"I'll be down in a minute," Lucius replied, taking a deep breath to clear his mind.
Regressed back to his 12-year-old self, he knew that he had to be cautious with his powers. For now, he wanted to enjoy the simpler pleasures of life and worry about the bigger picture later.
Lady Delith was his cousin, the daughter of his father's sister, Lady Tabita Desavich, and her husband, Lord Leon Den Desavich. Looking at the calendar, he realized that it was the first day of Sunspear month, which marked the start of summer and the opening of the Academy.
After a while, Lucius made his way downstairs and was greeted by Lady Delith and her brother, Dexus.
"What took you so long, Lucius?" she complained, her eyes filled with impatience. "We're going to be late at this rate!"
Without saying a word, Lucius exchanged a fist bump with Dexus, knowing that responding to Lady Delith's complaints would only lead to more bickering. For now, he was content to enjoy the warmth of the sun and the company of his family.
The Desavich Family is renowned as one of the most prominent noble houses in the Tunoril Empire, boasting a long and illustrious history of producing powerful mages and wise leaders. As such, it was no surprise that they had enrolled their youngest scion, Lucius, in the Magistrate Academy - the most prestigious institution for training magic users in the entire empire.
As Lucius and his companions arrived at the academy, they stepped out of the luxurious Desavich carriage and were immediately the center of attention. Clad in their royal blue uniforms, adorned with the crest of the Desavich family, they exuded an air of power and authority that commanded respect from their peers.
But their arrival did not go unnoticed. As the other students watched with interest, the Frednalin siblings - known for their own powerful magical abilities - stepped forward to greet Lady Delith. But their attempt to extend a friendly hand was rebuffed, and Lady Delith led her company away.
As they were leaving, however, the Frednalin siblings released a sudden and intense wave of bloodlust towards Lucius and his companions. But the young mage was prepared, and he quickly repelled the attack with a deft flick of his wrist. Then, with a swift gesture, he bound the siblings with a magical thread, causing them to fall to their knees gasping for breath.
Before the situation could escalate further, the Student Circle Council President arrived on the scene. Lady Cassandra Silvercrest, the only child of the Silvercrest family and a powerful mage in her own right,
"Lord Lucius, please do release them" she calmy requested, Lucius release the siblings that makes them cope up with their breath
"Welcome back to the Academy, here is the Identity card for this academic year" Cassandra said and gave them them a small golden ID.
"It is a warning to the four of you," Lady Cassandra said sternly, her eyes fixed on the Frednalin siblings. "Never ever wage a fight against the other High Noble Houses. Remember that we are all here to learn and hone our skills, not to engage in petty squabbles."
With that, Lady Cassandra turned on her heels and left, her royal blue robes billowing behind her. The Desavich family followed suit, with Lucius and Lady Delith exchanging a glance before leaving.
