Chapter 5 - IMPERIAL MAGICIAN

"Each academy possesses the authority to investigate cases related to magic, and they may deploy their personnel or students to investigate such cases, even if they involve national security matters. As long as the cases involve magic, the academy has the power to intervene" During the three-hour-long lecture, the instructor from the National Security and Magic Institution emphasizes the importance of this authority and its implications for maintaining order and protecting society from magical threats.

@CAFETERIA

"Tia, how was the food?" Delith asked, we are having our lunch at the cafeteria together with the Red Security Council, Tia has already been assigned as an additional member taking the role as the Assistant Chair

"It is to my liking Lady Delith" Tia answered,

As they were talking, Delux suddenly brought up a concerning report. "By the way, Young Master, there have been multiple cases of Mana influx reported recently," he said. "This has affected the students' ability to control their powers and temperaments, causing harm to others. The Senior students of the Green Main Building seem to be experiencing the brunt of this outbreak." The news sent a wave of unease through the group

"Mana influx? It's likely due to the current training requirements for graduating seniors like us. Mana influx can occur when your mana level experiences a sudden increase, which can be caused by things like taking certain pills or using external mana-boosting methods that can temporarily raise your mana levels," Tia explained.

It's not surprising that Tia has a deeper understanding of this, given that her father is one of the nation's Great Mages, Tia was enrolled in the Emerald Academy when she was 7 but was transferred back to her hometown having an indoor class with tutors given by the Academy, this is because Uncle Cain wants Tia to be at his side always so that he can mentor Tia

"this might as well be the cause of the recent murderous aura that scattered throughout the Blue main building" - Lucas Elves said

"Tia proceed to the Green Main Building together with the 2nd Division, investigate about the reason of this Mana influx" I said and we all separated going on to each others Chamber, the Academy will provide individual chamber to each Graduating students to study their magic thesis

Mana influx is not an unusual occurrence, especially since many students are conducting experiments for their magic thesis. However, something seems off about this particular outbreak. Most of the students had a small amount of mana under their arsenal and relied heavily on the surrounding mana, as they did not have a magic core to store vast amounts of mana.

To illustrate, let's assume that an individual's mana capacity without a magic core is limited to 10. An elementary level magic spell typically costs 2 mana to cast, and the surrounding mana can provide only 2 mana at a time. In contrast, a magic core can store up to 5,000 mana, but that is only for blue mana. Red mana is twice as potent as blue mana.

Considering the current state of the students it would impossible for mana influx to cause an outbreak, I am certain that there are other sources that causes this outbreak and that is what we want to find out.

@EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OFFICE

"It seems like outsiders are selling these forbidden Mana pills that cause the Mana influx outbreak. It was prevented last year by requiring all graduating seniors to live in the academy dormitories," Sanders exclaimed.

"The dormitory policy has been nullified by the Teachers Association because it deprived students of the liberty to spend time with their families. We can no longer question that fact. However, since this issue has risen again, we have to investigate further and catch whoever is selling these forbidden pills," Cassandra said.

"What report does our Public Affairs had?" Cassandra turn to the head of Public affairs, Javsh and Jevsh, the Carathorn twins

"This might be an annual occurrence, but this time's outbreak has set a new record. The number of cases was three times the number of the last outbreak recorded in the Emerald Academy," Javsh said.

"But it's not just the Emerald Academy that's experiencing such a drastic increase in Mana influx. The other four academies have also recorded similar outbreaks, which is the first time in history that all five academies are experiencing the same situation," Jevsh added

"this more than what we think it is, inform the Peace and Order Council to implement a curfew to the Academy" Cassandra said

As we were about to step outside, a sudden explosion echoed through the Council Building.

"What was that?" Jevsh exclaimed.

We rushed to the site where the explosion came from and found two students fighting each other.

"It seems like they are infected with Mana influx, President," Sanders uttered.

"Jevsh and Javsh, keep the other students away from here," I said. "Let's go!" I added and rushed towards the two students. Sanders followed me.

"That's enough!" I exclaimed as I approached them. However, instead of stopping, their attention and hostility were immediately transferred to me. "Tssss," I uttered, bracing myself for any attacks, while Sanders positioned himself in front of me.

The two infected students rushed forward, shouting and unleashing their magic. One student sent a wave of fire towards Cassandra, but she swiftly countered with a spell of ice that extinguished the flames. The other student launched a bolt of lightning towards Sanders, but he blocked it with a shield of water.

"how are they casting spells without chanting?" Sanders asked, trying to understand the situation.

"Focus on restraining them!" I commanded, taking a deep breath to center myself. As I concentrated, an icy aura emanated from my being, freezing anyone who dared to approach me.

Meanwhile, Sanders sprang into action, unleashing a barrage of water bullets towards our attackers. One student who was about to stab me from behind was quickly pushed back by the force of the water.

A massive snake, its scales black as night and red as blood, appeared in the hands of the two students. They pointed their hands at us, their eyes glowing with malevolent energy.

"Stand back, President," Sanders exclaimed, pushing me away from the dangerous creature. "Make sure not to hurt them badly!" I responded, leaping back to support him.

But before we could even react, the first student chanted a dark incantation, "DEATH PULSE" unleashing a pulse of deathly energy. I couldn't help but feel a shiver run down my spine as the air around us grew colder and more oppressive.

"Spell chant?" I muttered in confusion. Lately, the two students had been able to cast spells without chanting, so this sudden shift caught us off guard. I realized that the power difference was immense, and if this battle dragged on for too long, the two students' mana veins would run dry and they could end up paying the ultimate price.

Sanders and I exchanged a worried glance, knowing that we had to finish this fight as quickly as possible. We braced ourselves, ready for whatever dark magic the students would unleash next.

The air crackled with power as the second student appeared out of nowhere, hovering above me. I had no time to think before a ball of flames hurtled towards me.

"Freezing wa--" I started to chant, but before I could finish, the student's scorching sun spell cut me off mid-sentence. The sheer force of the blast sent me reeling, and I knew I was in serious trouble.

(Advance magic? This is outrageous! I won't be able to defend against it. Running is also not an option.) Panic began to set in as I realized the gravity of the situation. If I didn't act fast, the school could be destroyed and many lives could be lost.

"I have no time to think!" I shouted, my mind racing. "Ice wall of the abyss!" With a wave of my hand, a giant wall of ice sprouted from the ground, encircling me and the second student. We were now isolated from the outside, and this would at least lessen the damage to the school.

(Everyone, make sure not to hurt them too badly!) I reminded myself, knowing that we had to capture the students alive if possible. But deep down, I couldn't help but wonder if this was where I would meet my end. The ice wall shook and cracked as the student's magic continued to rain down upon us. Would we be able to hold out long enough to turn the tide of this battle?

As I huddled behind my shattered ice wall, someone suddenly shouted, "Lightning of perseverance!" A bolt of lightning struck the giant fireball in front of me, shattering my ultimate defensive skill in an instant. I stumbled backwards, momentarily stunned.

When I regained my bearings, I saw that student 2 had been knocked out cold. But as I turned to look at Sanders, my heart sank. He was badly injured and unconscious, lying in a heap on the ground. My stomach churned with fear and worry.

As I surveyed the scene, I saw that student 1 had also been knocked out. I squinted, trying to make out the figure of the person who had cast the lightning spell. It took me a moment to recognize him, but when I did, I gasped in disbelief.

"Lucius?" I uttered weakly, my voice barely above a whisper. the Chairman of the Red Security Council had come to our aid.

"Take everyone that is injured to the infirmary, Tia bring this two in the RSC office!" Lucius ordered, that was the last words I heard before I lost my consciousness

DESAVICH MANOR

"-I'm noticing some changes in past events that haven't happened before. Could these changes be due to my regression, or are there other factors at play? I haven't made any changes yet, so I'm curious as to why things are different now compared to before."-

well it is time for me to build up my second magic core, but first I need to apply the Magic Concealment so that no mana can leaked out or else father would notice it.
