Joanna bit her fingernails all the way back to her parent's house. Different emotions were coursing through her mind and it was upsetting her. She needed a clear mind to think and face the reality that she was getting a divorce. It shouldn't have hurt her to the point of numbness but it did and she couldn't tell if it was because she was falling in love with David Or she was starting to believe they had a chance together.
She got out of the Cab and stood watching her parent's house. She laughed bitterly. She was here just days ago and now she was back for good. Her stomach churned with disappointment. David failed her. He was a coward.
She was about to press the bell when the door suddenly opened and her Mom came into view.
"Joanna?" Her Mom sounded surprised to see her. Her Dad and Evelyn came to the door too at the mention of her name. "We were just going get you. David told you?".
She nodded and let the tears fall.
"The Bastard". Evelyn cursed.
