Joanna woke up excitedly. She was going back to work. She wouldn't even call to inform anyone or she knew Dr. Pine would still insist she stay home and rest. She dressed quickly and spent some time doing her face. She never cared for makeup but at that moment, she wanted to do it. She didn't even know why she was excited. Was it because she missed the kids? Or was something exciting going to happen?
Joanna stared at her reflection in the mirror. Satisfied with her looks, she went downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast. She smiled at Mary who had replaced Sofia.
"Welcome home Ma'am". Mary's eyes danced with excitement. "How was your trip. We missed you".
Joanna walked up to the elderly woman and extended her hands for a brief hug. "It was cool. I missed you too. How have you been?"
"Good Ma'am".
Joanna picked an apple and munched on it as she proceeded to sit at the kitchen table and waited on Mary who served her some breakfast.
