"—lright, thank you for your time."
Snapping out of her daze, Ines repeatedly blinked and looked around. For the entire duration of the Archduke and Bruixa's discussion, she had zoned out.
"That's all. Leave, there's a stairwell in the back that leads to the outside world," Bruixa said. She stood up from where she sat and opened the door, waving for them to leave.
Despite Bruixa's cold tone, the Archduke smiled and bid her farewell.
She merely snorted in response and flicked her wrist at him, shooing them away.
But as she looked back for the final time, Ines noticed that Bruixa hadn't moved from where she stood. The older woman's eyes looked distant as if she were reminiscing.
Ines softly exhaled at this and turned her gaze back forward.
It was none of her business, anyway.
As they left, they wordlessly headed down the spiraling stairwell. Not a single word was spoken between the two as they returned to the carriage.
