Standing up, Ines then crouched down to inspect the bones by her bedside. The bones were thin, but they were tough as steel.
"I don't remember this being here before," She commented to herself, her gaze momentarily flickering back to the shattered window.
'Did someone… no, 'something' enter my room while I was asleep?'
Brushing her hands against the floor and under her bed, Ines searched for traces of an intruder in her room when she felt something fuzzy and wet brush against her palm.
She shrieked. Falling backward, Ines regained her balance and quickly shuffled away.
Only then when Ines gained distance did she look back. Sitting where she was crouching before, locks of dark seaweed-like hair laid on the floor.
She sighed, relieved.
