"I didn't!" Ines hurriedly defended herself, "I didn't, I really didn't! I woke up a couple of minutes ago and they were by my bedside!"
Out of the blue, the siren suddenly lunged at her and shrieked.
"I can sense her mana inside of you! Give me back my baby!"
Blades made up of water appeared in her hands, and she furiously stabbed toward where Ines stood.
"I didn't-!" Ines screamed. Ducking, she rolled onto the ground and jumped onto her bed before leaping onto the other side.
Her bones creaked, and Ines swore that she could hear the sound of her broken bones cracking even further.
'…My knee!'
For nearly three minutes, they ran around like a game of cat and mouse. Every time, Ines would narrowly escape whilst gaining a couple of bruises and injuries, and the siren would grow more and more enraged.
Ines was slowly running out of breath, and her stamina was no match for a siren's.
