Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 The Uninvited Guest

Ji-Soo's heart pounded as she wondered who could be at the door at this hour. She carefully tiptoed to the door and tried to peek through the peephole, but it was too dark to see anything. She took a deep breath and opened the door, only to be met with a woman she had never seen before.

"Excuse me, is this the residence of Min-Jae?" the woman asked, her voice trembling.

Ji-Soo's heart sank as she realized who the woman was. It was Min-Jae's ex-girlfriend, Hye-Jin. She had heard about her from Min-Jae but had never met her in person.

"Y-yes, he lives here," Ji-Soo stuttered, unsure of what to do next.

Without waiting for an invitation, Hye-Jin brushed past Ji-Soo and made her way to Min-Jae's room. Ji-Soo stood frozen for a moment before following her.

She could hear Min-Jae and Hye-Jin's voices from the other side of the door, but couldn't make out what they were saying. Her heart raced as she wondered if Hye-Jin was here to try and win Min-Jae back.

As she waited, Ji-Soo couldn't help but think about how she had fallen for Min-Jae. She had tried to resist her feelings, knowing that it was complicated and that she didn't want to ruin their friendship. But she couldn't help how she felt, and seeing Hye-Jin here only made her more anxious.

After what felt like hours, Hye-Jin finally left the room and made her way to the front door. Ji-Soo followed her, feeling like she was in a daze.

"Thank you for talking to me," Hye-Jin said before leaving, her eyes red from crying.

Ji-Soo watched as she disappeared into the night, feeling a mix of relief and anxiety. She didn't know what was going to happen next, but she knew that things were going to change between her and Min-Jae.

When she made her way back to Min-Jae's room, he was sitting on his bed, staring blankly at the wall. Ji-Soo could see the pain in his eyes and knew that Hye-Jin's visit had stirred up old wounds.

"What happened?" Ji-Soo asked softly, sitting down next to him.

"It was nothing. Just an old friend who needed someone to talk to," Min-Jae said, his voice hollow.

Ji-Soo could tell that he was lying, but she didn't want to push him too hard. She leaned her head on his shoulder, hoping that their love could weather any storm that came their way.
