I felt relief as I was being pulled up by the roots. The voice that spoke to me was calming, and I felt safe. As I reached the top, I saw a person that was a part plant, part human. Their skin was light green and their hair was brown like wood. A sprout grew on their head like it was their hair accessory. The stranger was very cute and meek, and their voice was soft. They were very short in size and have very big bubbly eyes.
They had their hand raised up, and I assumed that's how they controlled the roots. I thanked them for helping me, and they asked me if I was alright in a cute soft-spoken voice. I smiled and said I was. However, my sword intervened and whispered to me how cute the stranger was, and if I was lucky, I could get laid tonight. I ignored the sword and took another look at the stranger. I squinted to see the tab beside them. It read "Florant" and the word Level 15 in the corner. At the bottom, it said "Vine Manipulation," but all other words were blurred and unreadable.
Florant? What does that mean? When I read my mother's tab, it says that her origin is human but for this stranger, their origin is a Florant. Also yeah. Why is their skin light green? That's definitely something you don't see every day.
As I stood there, gazing at the stranger who had helped me, I couldn't help but notice their unique features. Their skin was a light shade of green, something I had never seen before. It was as if they were part plant and part human. I wondered how they had come to be this way.
As I was lost in my thoughts, the sword suddenly suggested that I ask the stranger why they were green. At first, I hesitated, not wanting to offend them. But my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to ask. "Why are you green?" I asked, looking at the stranger expectantly.
The stranger gave me a look of confusion as if they didn't understand the question. I felt embarrassed, thinking that I had offended them in some way. However, the sword seemed to find the whole situation amusing and burst out laughing.
"I can't believe you actually did that," the sword said, between fits of laughter. "You can't just ask people why they are green!"
I felt foolish and apologized to the stranger, explaining that I was just curious and didn't mean to offend them. They looked at me for a moment, as if considering my words, before finally breaking into a small smile.
I felt my face flush with embarrassment as the stranger gave me a puzzled look. It was a stupid question, and I couldn't believe I had asked it. The sword's laughter only made me feel worse.
"I'm sorry," I stammered, looking down at my feet. "I didn't mean to offend you. I was just curious."
The stranger smiled kindly at me, and I felt a little bit better. "It's alright," they said in their soft-spoken voice. "I understand that you're curious. My skin is green because I am a part plant."
I looked up at the stranger in surprise. "Part plant?" I repeated.
As I approached the stranger, I could feel a sense of curiosity and intrigue building up within me. The stranger had a unique appearance that immediately caught my attention. Their green skin was something that I had never seen before, and it was quite mesmerizing to look at.
"Well, my origin is a Florant so that explains why I'm a part plant." They explained to me.
"A Florant?" I repeated, not quite understanding what that meant.
"Yes, I'm a part plant and part human," Basil explained. "It's a unique origin that gives me proficiency in plant-based magic."
I nodded, still trying to wrap my head around what I had just heard. "I'm Yamiru," I introduced myself. "Nice to meet you."
Basil smiled warmly. "Likewise, I'm guessing this is your first time meeting a Florant?" They asked.
"Yes. It's my first time meeting someone like that." I answered.
"Tell them, are all Florants as cute as they are?" The sword suggested.
"I've had enough of your terrible suggestions for one day," I whispered under my breath so Basil doesn't hear it.
Basil's expression turned slightly surprised. "Really? That's interesting. It's not uncommon to see Florants roaming out and about, especially in the Mystical Grove where we are right now."
I looked around at our surroundings and noticed the lush greenery and towering trees that surrounded us. "I suppose it's just a coincidence that I haven't seen any until now," I said with a shrug.
Basil nodded in understanding. "Perhaps you're from the human city then. That would explain why you haven't met anyone of a different origin."
I didn't really understand what Basil was getting at, but I didn't want to seem clueless, so I just nodded in agreement. "Yeah, that's probably it."
As if sensing my confusion, the sword that I had been carrying suddenly spoke up. "You really have no idea what she's talking about, do you?" it said with a chuckle.
I glared at the sword. "Of course, I do. I just didn't want to sound ignorant."
Basil laughed, and I couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed. "Don't worry about it, Yamiru. We all have to start somewhere. Besides, I'm sure you have your own unique qualities that I would find fascinating if I got to know you better."
I felt my cheeks heat up at his words and couldn't help but think that Basil was pretty cute. The sword seemed to share my thoughts, as it made a comment about her appearance under its breath.
"Are you hurt by any chance? Can I take a look at you?" Basil got closer to take a look at me, making me blush at how close they are to me.
