Chapter 21 - HOT WOODEN CHAIR

Arkhaviya frowned her face and said, "Kiya is in trouble."

"How do know?" Alisha asked.

Arkhaviya replied: "If the mirror cannot show her again, it means the mirror is no longer seeing her and that only mean one thing."

"Kiya is in trouble?"

"Yes Alisha.. Kiya is in trouble and we need to find her and save her."

Just then, a Bengal cat appeared from thin air inside Alisha's Computer lab. The cat walked majestically toward Arkhaviya and Alisha, she meows while she walk.. The two Women remained silent and calm as they watch the cat transform into a beautiful human-like figure. Without wasting any time, she casted a glance at the two women and said; "I believe by now you know Kiya is in trouble and we need to go help her." With a look of confusion, Alisha said; "The mirror won't show her again, how do we find her?"

" I am her totem, I am infinitely connected with her.. I should be able to track her wherever she might be." Totema affirmed.

Alisha gave out a slight coy smile before giving Arkhaviya a confuse look.. Knowing what baffles Alisha, Arkhaviya chuckled and said, "Yes Alisha.. Totems can track their human masters." In response, Alisha groaned, "Grrr.. When am I going to see my own totem?.. this things are amazing." Arkhaviya smiled but before she could reply Alisha, totema quickly interrupted and replied; "We are not things, we are spirits.. You will see your totem when you are ready and trust me.. we are not always amazing and let get serious here." Totema's response gave Alisha a bit of a concern but she quickly brushed it off and calmly said, "Well, let put this aside and go save Kiya shall we?" Arkhaviya remained silent, she turned to totema and nodded. Totema understood the signal and went down on her knees, she placed both her palms on the floor, closed her eyes tightly, gave out a heavy sigh to calm herself. Within a few seconds, Totema opened her eyes, she got up, her countenance not looking good. After getting a hold of herself, she turned to the two women waiting silently and patiently to know about Kiya's location and said; "I found Kiya but where she is.. is a really terrible place." "Well then what are we waiting for.. let go get her." Arkhaviya firmly replied.

At an unknown location, inside a strange apartment, Kiya was firmly tight up with a magical rope on a wooden chair. She couldn't free herself despite her struggle to do so, while a step away from her, a weird looking middle aged man dressed in a European coat sat face to face with her. The man could not contain his overflowing joy, an unending rather silly grin would have perfectly decorated his face if it wasn't for his rotten teeth. Still in a confusing and weakened state, Kiya couldn't help but to plead with the man for freedom, her face dented with her tears, her eyes reddened from both confusion and pains.

The man could not stop staring at Kiya, he also couldn't help but ask, "How can a powerful being like you cry for help.. huh?" he added, "Shouldn't you be destroying me right now?" tears rolled out of Kiya's eyes as she remined silent. The man continued, "You have no idea what power you possess right?.. your place in this universe you know nothing about. How can a powerful weapon choose a weakling like you when there are powerful men like us. You are nothing but a little girl who knows nothing about powers." The man's words pierced into the heart of Kiya like a two edged sharp sword, anger and pains began to rise from the depth of her very being, she barked at the man, "How dare you speak of me in that manner?" The man busted into an annoying laughter and nonchalantly replied; "I know you little girl.. I know you are a city girl, a girl who knows nothing about her root, her ancestors, her people. You know nothing about the hidden knowledge of this vast universe, you are a spoiled only child who bear no significance. But I don't blame you.. I blame Zibeh, I blame you Father Zibeh, he is the man who should have turn you into the formidable warrior you were supposed to be but nope, instead he hide everything from you."

These words enraged Kiya even more, she blurted in anger, "You know nothing about me, nothing about my Father."

The man smirked and said, "Well, I don't know much apart from the fact that your father is a coward who could not confront his fear, a runway warrior.. A man who ran away from his root only to hide away in a foreign land, accept a foreign religion. Your father is a coward."

"you are lying" Kiya cried, "You are not telling the truth about my Father because you don't know him."

"Well little girl, I am a wizard.. I do a lot of magic, astral projection and much more but today, I only need to use one spell to achieve my purpose of bringing you here."

"What will you do to me?" Kiya asked in a shaky voice.

"Not much" he replied, "Since my useless son had the chance to bring me your weapon but couldn't, I decided I'd just rip it out of you, simple."

"W-what do you mean rip it out of me?" she stammered.

The man quickly replied; "I am the master of the takers of the Nwu.. I drink peoples lifeforce for a living, I drink it like beer.. ha-ha. Now I wonder what the life force of someone like you would do to me? You know, every power you possess right now might just be all mine. Thanks to you who brought it right to me, you don't even know how to use it and you have no idea how many beings, people and even gods want that lifeforce of yours, so, before they come for it, let me ease your burden by taking it."

Kiya remained silent, still in a state of confusion and fear, her only problem being that she could not fully comprehend what the man was trying to make her understand. She was supposed to be the powerful warrior the universe was waiting for, but here she is, at the mercy of a man who is about to take her lifeforce, whatever that means. In her thoughts, Kiya asked herself, "Am I this weak? But I thought I am the chosen one, anointed by the greatest weapon in the universe, so how can I sit and watch this man hurt me?" After the speculations in her mind, Kiya raised her eyes to look at the man threatening to hurt her and confidently said, "No Mr., I am not going to let you hurt me." The man's heart tripped on hearing Kiya's firm words, at once, a tiny witty fear formed in his heart.. "No she cannot know that I am afraid, no she cannot.. if I allow her to tap into her powers, I won't be able to steal her Nwu (Lifeforce) again. I have to do something to weaken her."

Kiya stares at the man with full confidence. She knew that something was going on in his mind, she said to him, "Let me go and I will spare you." But the man frowns his face and with a bitter voice he replied, "You don't make deals with me little girl, and guess what?" a faint smile flashed on his face, "I don't think I will drain you up, I'll let someone else do it."

"Who is that?" Kiya asked.

"You can come out now" The man called out.

In the same room, behind a bookshelf sat someone listening to all the conversation between Kiya and the strange man and waiting for the moment the signal would sound into his ears. While Kiya believed that it was only her and the man in the strange room, a good looking young man popped out from behind the bookshelf, he walked slowly and quietly toward the strange man, refusing to look at Kiya's face, for he felt too ashamed to do so.

When Kiya set her eyes on the young man, her heart tripped.. not in fear, or admiration but in an excruciating pain.. her eyes widened, "Leon?" she called. Leon remained silent, without answering her call, he gently turned his face toward her. His eyes bloodshot and cold, his face devoid of any warmth, his black kinky hair rough and tattered like a mad man. Kiya couldn't believe what her eyes of were showing her, tears roll out of her eyes, her heart raced, banging her chest heavily. The entire room remained silent like a cemetery, so silent that even the movement of an ant could be heard by a kin ear. The strange man looked at both Kiya and Lean and in a mocking tone he said, "Young girl, behold your boyfriend."

"So it was you all along?" she asked in a painful voice.

"Yes.. I fixed him into your life, so that he can get the sentient weapon from you but he couldn't." the man replied.

Leon quickly turned to the man to debunk his words, he said, "It is not that I couldn't Father, I was just trying to buy time."

"What time?" The man asked, "I knew your intensions son. I knew you would fall into her charm and betray me. So I brought you here to witness how I am going to mercilessly drain your little angel of her lifeforce."

"No!" Leon cried, "You cannot do that Father, please."

The man smiled maliciously and said, "We were the strongest cult out there, everyone feared us, but this girl messed with your mind boy, you lost it, you lost your will because of a woman, I your father would never fall for such."

"She didn't mess with my mind Father" Leon said, "I was going to bring the weapon to you.. It wasn't the plan that she get hurt."

"Plan has changed boy.." the man barked, "and now I have to extract it from her completely."

The man lifted his right hand up, murmured some weird spells and BOOM!.. Leon felt his body flying to the wall, before he could comprehend what was happening he felt his back hit the wall tremendously, he felt a terrible pain creeping up to his brain through his spine, in less than a second his two legs froze. He tried to move them but could not, it like his brain lost connection with his body; "What is happening to me?" he cried, "I can't move my legs."

"Don't bother trying" that heart-wrecking voice of his father rang again, "you will never walk again boy."

All the while, Kiya sat silently watching the Father Son duo wreck themselves with words of the mouth and now physical violence took over, for a second she forgot her own dilemma and all her pity went to Leon who was still laying on the floor, not able to move his legs, she shouted at Leon's father; "How could you do a thing like that to your own son?"

"Shut your mouth" he nonchalantly replied, "This is a family matter.. after all this pains he is passing through is because of you."

But Kiya replied, "No it is not because of me, you are just a man full of evil, a man who couldn't spare even his own son for personal gain."

Kiya's words enraged the man, his heart started beating three times faster than normal, his blood began to boil, his eyes turned red and face lost all the tiny warmth that was on it. He stood up from the wooden chair he has been sitting for hours. He moved closer to Kiya and whispered in her ears, "I am going to enjoy drinking from your cup girl." The moment he dropped his last word into her ears, he placed his right palm on her forehead and whispered a spell in his local language.. "Inde roh nye re wuru zheneh".. SWOOSH!!.. Kiya felt a pain, the kind of pain she would never forget. Her body began to vibrate, her entire body brighten with faint yellow light, all of which sped up to her forehead into the right palm of Leon's father, she felt her life rushing out of her. The evil man laughed in a sinister joy, while Kiya led out an ear breaking cry..

Leon's Father would do anything for power, he searched for it , looked for it and loved it more than anything. He took his son, an innocent boy and turned him into an evil being. A son created in a beautiful image, a son whose coming to earth was shown in dreams and visions, a son whose very existence gave energy to the Earth realm. Leon's father tapped all his magical powers from his own son yet because of the power in Kiya.. he hurt his son. What wouldn't earthlings do for power, who would they not harm and kill to get it? Wisdom and Faith is gone from humans, now, only an unending urge for wealth, fame and power remain.
