Chapter 22 - BORN TO GIVE LIFE

Kiya felt her life-force rushing out of her body, something she had never experience before, not only painful but devastating and anguishing. These unbearable pains caused Kiya's mind to start flashing every memory she ever experienced. Every truth her Father ever hid from her revealed themselves right in her mind's eyes, and slide by slide she saw moments up to the very moment she met Leon. In her agony, she felt sorry for herself for easily falling for a young man she met for the first time, a man she never knew about, a man she thought was cool and handsome, a man she thought she could give the honor of a first boyfriend, the same turns out to be the son of the very man whose deadly palm rested on her forehead, through which her very life-force is being forcefully driven out. An anger mixed with the unwavering urge for revenge began to rise from her very lowest chakra up to her very top chakra, thanks to those memories that flashed in her minds eyes, reminding her of all that she needed to live for, giving her a reason not to give up in despair.

Not far from Kiya and the evil man sucking off her life-force, Leon lays on the floor in despair. He couldn't help but watch Kiya lavish away in pains, under the brutal cold palm of his father. He couldn't feel his body from the waist downward, he tried to drag himself to perhaps try to do something. "Father no!" he begged, "Please you have to stop, you are killing her."

Leon's Father wouldn't give a dime about his son, his ears turned deaf to any form of pleads. His right palm rested firmly on Kiya's forehead, enjoying her life-force like fresh wine. A huge grin appears on his face when he felt his body and soul responding to the new power gushing into him. The feelings too good to resist, the taste of Kiya's powers too sweet to not enjoy. His mind opens wide welcoming the new sensation and the scream of Kiya in pains sounded like the sweetest melody he ever heard. Without blinking an eye, Leon's Father continue to draw Kiya's life-force even more aggressively.

Twelve years ago, when Leon was only Ten years old, something strange happened. Leon was just an ordinary boy who played with ordinary kids his own age. Nothing seem odd or weird about the boy but his Father knew that something was different about Leon, having the knowledge of what the boy was. He learned from a deceased doctor that Leon was meant for greatness, that the boy was not to be taken for granted. He reflected as he watches Leon playing with the other kids from the neighborhood, how he killed the doctor out of both fear and greed. "He wouldn't have said too much" Leon's Father reflected, "I wouldn't have known what the boy is and the foolish doctor would still be alive right now."

Little Leon was playing soccer with his friends while his father reflected about the past, keeping a close eye on the boy. As the soccer proceed to become more enjoyable, one of the boys playing with Leon hit the ball hard with his left leg. With great a force, the ball flew in the air against Leon, but before the ball could hit Leon, he flawlessly dodged the ball. Leon watched at first in amazement then in despair as the ball flew straight to a stray cockerel to hit it. The impact of the ball on the cockerel was so much that it killed it instantly. Leon screamed in regret, he knew that if he hadn't dodged the ball, the cockerel wouldn't have died. He rushed to check the dead cockerel on the ground. Tears rolled out of his eyes, for he didn't mean to let the ball kill the bird. He picked the cockerel in his hands and rushed to his Father who had been standing by watching the kids play. "I didn't mean to kill it Papa" young Leon cried, "Can you bring it back to life?" "No Leon" Leon's father answered, "It already dead, just let it be. After all it just an animal." Leon looked at his father in the eyes with wonder dominating his face. Leon wondered why his father had no sympathy for life, he said to his father, "It an animal Papa. But it was breathing just like we are breathing right now, it had life and I helped took it away." Leon's Father smirked. He stared at the boy for a few seconds and said to him, "You are just a kid, what do you know about life?" But Leon replied, "I am just a kid but I know that everyone and everything is alive and deserve to live." "Wow!" Leon's father exclaimed, "Considering how special you are my son, I am not surprise that you have passion for life." He sighed and asked, "So what are going to do about the dead bird now son?" Leon moved slowly and gently dropped the cockerel on the floor, he turned to his father and replied, "I wish I can give it back it life if I could I would." "Maybe you should give it a try" Leon's father mocked.

Ignoring his Father's disbelieve and mockery, Leon placed his right hand over the still cockerel. He sighed calmly, closed his eyes. Suddenly to the disbelieve of his father, a beautiful blue light covered Leon's palm resting on the bird, and before any of them could think anything, the cockerel jumped up to life. "The chicken is alive?" Leon's father blurted in excitement. "Yes Papa... I gave it back it life, just like I took it." Leon calmly replied. Leon's father hurriedly held the cockerel before it could run away. He held it close to Leon and asked, "Can you take the life back again, so that it can die like before?" Leon looked at his father in disbelieve and answered, "Why should I kill it again Papa?" Leon's Father smiled and answered, "Because you can always give it back it life my Son." "You will let me do that?" Leon asked passionately. "Yes Leon, I will let you." Leon's Father answered. Leon nodded in agreement and gently placed his right palm on the living cockerel and just like that, faint blue light covered Leon's palm again and the cockerel became silent and still just like it was before Leon gave it life. Leon's father sighed in amazement. He witnessed something he never imagined he would, something no one has ever seen. He held the dead cockerel in his hand, checked it over and over, but found no trace of life in the bird. "This is more than what I imagined. My son is a god." Leon's father confessed.

In the present day, Leon lays helplessly on the floor. Watching with his two eyes his father draining the life-force of the young maiden he fell in love with. The girl screams in pain but stood strong. She was not strong enough to fight off her enemy but she did her best to retain herself so that she would not be an easy prey. She had hope, she prayed for help, she believed that her symbiotic weapon will never let her down like that, so, she held on. Leon's father was too engulfed in greed to realize that his helpless son had dragged himself close to him. When Leon got close enough to his father, he stretched forth his right hand to hold his father's left heel. The moment his right palm contacted his father, Leon used every bit of strength he had to start draining his father of his life-force.

Leon's father felt life rushing out of him before he realized what Leon was doing to him. While he still held on to draining Kiya's life-force, he also tried to fight off Leon, he tried to resist Leon's draining powers, he tried to refuse his life-force from moving out but alas, he failed. For even though Leon's father was a powerful wizard, Leon was the true master in the game of taking and giving of the Nwu (Life-force). Out of the weakness taking over Leon's father, his right palm involuntarily disconnected from Kiya's forehead. SWOOSH! Just like that, every light rushing out of Kiya vanished. Leon's father slowly dropped to the floor, shaking helplessly. In his mastery of using life-force, Leon used the life-force he drew from his father to heal himself from his spine problem while his father lays on the floor spineless and helpless.

"Grrrr" Leon's father groaned in pains, "You betray me for this girl?"

"For the same girl you betrayed me? Yes" Leon calmly answered his dying father.

"You fool!" his father cursed.

"Fool? No. Devil? Yes." Leon smirked, "Isn't that what you raised me to be Father?"

"I raised you to be a great wizard, the best of us all" Leon's father blurted.

"I have always been the best of you all" Leon scuffed, "I was only ten when I learned to give life. But, you forced me to take it back."

"I thought you to be a god you fool" Leon's father blurted even more.

"Maybe." Leon explained, "but what you will never knew is that, I was always a god, even from birth. I came to give life to Earth, you were meant to be my guardian and protector but you out of greed, you turned me upside down and now. you lost."

Leon's father paused, he remained silent. He knew quite frankly that what Leon said was correct. He allowed his greed to take over him, he became obsessed with riches and power. He cared less about anyone but himself; "I was selfish" he said, "But I can change if you let me live." Leon moved closer to his father to look at him face to face, he asked his father, "Would you have let me live Papa?" "Yes, Yes... I would have let you live son." Leon's father desperately blurted. But Leon smirked and said, "You are a very bad liar Papa, I know you too well to tell when you lie or when you speak the truth."

Meanwhile, Kiya who had been standing close by watching Leon and his father became too tired of anticipating what could happen next between the two men. She moved closer to Leon, tapped him on the shoulder and pleaded, "He is done Leon, let get out of here." But in a painful voice, Leon replied, "I can't go with you... I am a traitor and I don't deserve to walk beside you." Just then, the space in front of Kiya glitched and a smokey ring of fire appeared, from inside of it, Arkhaviya, Alisha and Totema emerged. Super excited, both Kiya and Alisha rushes to hug each other.

"Am so glad you all came" Kiya appreciated.

"We are too late it seems" Totema replied.

"Something about the location of this place is just too weird, we lost our way many times while coming." Akhaviya explained.

"You came still. I suffered so much but perhaps it was the push I needed." Kiya assured.

Totema then walked to Kiya and kissed her on the forehead. The moment that happened, Totema disappeared into Kiya and the two became one again.

Arkhaviya turned to Leon and his dying father, she moved closer to check on the dying man on the floor. She looked at Leon in the eyes and asked, "What happened to him." With tears rolling out of his eyes, Leon answered, "He was going to kill both Kiya and I, but his greed bounced back at him."

Arkhaviya stares at the man on the floor with so much pity, and for a moment she wished the man wasn't as power hungry as he turns out to be. She placed her right palm on his chin and said to him, "I warned you Ayoremi, but you didn't listen, now look at you... Dying." Without saying a word to Arkhaviya, Leon's father slowly closed his eyes and gave up the ghost.
