LIVIE'S POV. -
'Well, did I expected anything less? Nope.'
I sigh making both the males to turn towards me. I flipped my eyes between them both and I can clearly make it out that they're feeling bad for me. I gave out a small smile while placing my camera on a safe surface before I turned towards Avian. "I would like to meet the model." My words made his eyes visible spread as he opened and closed his mouth several times before actually saying something. "Um, why?" I shrugged my shoulders and started to walk ahead making him follow my steps. He guided me to the dressing room, as I knocked on the door slowly. "Come in." I heard a feminine voice as I tighten my guts knowing it's going to be hard.
I opened the door slightly to have a view of a beautiful girl sitting in front of the mirror while another girl was combing her hair. She was busy looking in her phone. I entered inside completely and stood at some distance with Avian following me like a lost puppy. "Hello. I'm Livie, the photographer for todays shoot." Hearing me I saw her head snapping up as she stared at me through the mirror before turning her chair towards me. She motion her stylist to stop and stood up coming towards me. Even though she was beautiful, her expressions, body language and her eyes told me something different.
"Oh, so you're that girl the staff were whispering about." She said while eyeing me up and down causing me to almost roll my eyes but I controlled myself. "I don't know what you're talking about but I heard that you don't want to do the shoot because of me?" I saw how her eyes didn't stayed on my face for long as she was busy staring at my attire and other stuff. Seriously, this makes me feel sick. I cleared my throat making her to look at my face as she let out a scoff and walk back to her seat. "Don't think so ahead of yourself. You're not that important." She said while blowing on her nails as I took a deep breath not to let my wild side take over. 'What did she even think of herself?'
"Well, um..." I stumble on my words when I couldn't recall her name as she gave me a sharp look. "It's Ruby." She said out as I nod my head slightly. "Miss Ruby. I don't care what's you're problem is. All I know is all the staff and every other person who's working on todays schedule are bothered because of your unnecessary drama. So it's better if you solve your problem and come for the shoot. Please." I added the last word with least bothered and least interesting tone. I heard a gasp coming from Avian while Ruby's eyes were also about to pop out. She stared at me in disbelief until her face filled with rage and she abruptly stood up from her seat. "Who the hell do you think you are?" She took furious steps towards me as I stood unbothered. "A photographer, obviously. I thought you were smart. And listen, I'm not permanent or something so I don't care if I get throw out. But it can be a very big problem for you. Because you're not something which can't be replaced." We all heard a chuckling sound coming from the corner of the room and turned to look at the stylist standing in the corner with her hand covering her mouth. Probably trying to surpass her laughter. "I hope you understand." I said with a smile and turned my heels, leaving the fuming model with her laughing stylist.
"Wow. That was cool. How did you do that?" I heard Avian speaking as we made our ways back to the studio. "I'm a Wildlife photographer. I know how to deal with wild cats." "But aren't you afraid? I mean if she complaints to the higher authorities, then?" He asked as I could feel the worry in his voice. He was right but as I'm not on a permanent position here so that's not my problem. "Even if she does, how is that going to bother me? It's not like I'm an employee here." I chuckle getting my camera and waiting for the model to come out. "Do you think she'll come?" Avian asked making me looked at him. "Do she have any other option?" We both chortle together.
After 5 minutes I heard someone speaking loudly. "The model is here." I turned to look at Ruby who walk towards me with her blank expressions. Her stylist was following her behind. "Should we start, Miss Ruby?" I asked politely making her eyes twitched but she stayed silent. She turned towards Avian who was staring at me and then at her. "I want to meet Mr. Mitchell." She said as Avian's eyes widen. "W-Why...?" I could make it from his voice that he was afraid. "Do as I said. I won't click a single picture until he's here." She said and walked to the stage. One staff placed a chair for her as she sat there with her eyes boring in mine making me scoff.
"Who's Mr. Mitchell?" I asked making Avian to looked at me as he gulped before speaking. "He's the CEO of this agency." I didn't get why he was being so afraid when we haven't done anything wrong. "Then why are you so afraid?" I asked as Avian sigh and took my hand taking me towards the corner. "Look. I don't know how much of it is true, but I've heard that Mr. Mitchell is very strict and cold boss. He don't spare if someone interferes in his business." "Yeah, but why would he do anything to us if we tell him the truth. Its not like it's our fault. It was hers." I pointed towards Ruby as Avian snapped his hand and pulled my hand down stopping me from pointing towards her. "I know. But Ruby is one of the top models in this agency. And also, she's the rumoured girlfriend of Mr. Mitchell. Then why do you think he would believe us over her?" I couldn't stop myself from scoffing at his words. 'Really?'
"So? I don't care who's her rumoured boyfriend." My voice raised involuntarily as Avian tried to calm me down. "What's happening here?" Mine as well as Avian's eyes turned to look at the source of the deep voice which echoed in the room. Everyone felt silent as I searched for the person, and when my eyes landed on him, I felt my breathed getting snatched. It was him. The guy from the lift. I was staring at him as he stood in the middle of the studio while everyone had their eyes on the ground. No one dared to look at him but my eyes refused to look away from him. I can't understand why his aura attracts me towards him so much. Or am I being illusional?
"Mr. Mitchell..." Avian's little mumble snapped me out of my thoughts as I looked at him. "He is the CEO?" I asked making him nod with fear in his eyes. I again looked back at him but got startled when I found him already staring at me. We both were looking at each other through the distance. I didn't get why my heart beat was suddenly raising. Our long eye contact broke when Ruby came and stood in front of him making me realise what I was doing.
"Mr. Lucian. Thank god you came. I knew it, you'll definately come if I call you." I was least interested hearing her high pitch voice which was getting annoying for me with every passing second. "You see, this new girl here. I don't know why she's so jealous of me. But she disrespected me so badly. I don't know how does she even got here?" She made a disgusting face while pointing towards me and that was my last straw. I huff loudly while stopping my foot which lead me towards them. Avian tried to stop me but I ignored him and went to stand in front of Ruby and Mr. Mitchell. For a second when I looked towards him, I actually forgot what I wanted to say. His eyes, his gaze was making me feel weak. I composed myself before looking towards Ruby who had this smirk plastered on her face which I'm going to snatched soon.
"I'm sorry Miss Ruby, but I don't think I said something wrong." My words made her raised her eyebrows. I turned my attention towards Mr. Mitchell as he looked at me with the same gaze. Avoiding the tingling feeling inside my stomach, I decided to made my point clear. "Mr. Mitchell, I'm here to do todays shoot on the place of my friend, who due to some reasons couldn't come. And I don't see any point for Miss Ruby to refuse doing the photoshoot just because I'm not her regular photographer. She is the one who started all this drama. And it have already wasted half of my time. If you're going to take her side and throw me out then don't bother. Because I'm leaving." Few people present there gasped at my words while some murmur among themselves. I could care less. "And one more thing. It's all my problem. So I assume you'll be kind enough to not drag the other staff and my friend in this. They have nothing to do with this." I made it clear because I know it will cause a great problem for them if I left just like that.
His gaze didn't move neither flinch even for a second and I wonder if he actually heard what I said. I decided to leave because it was getting out of my hand already. As I turned around to leave, I heard his deep voice calling out my name. "Miss Livie. Please wait." I won't deny, but my name rolling out of his tongue made my whole body feel a different kind of sensations. I felt a spark running through my veins as I slowly turned around to look at him. All my anger drowning down in his eyes as he looked at me with tender look in his eyes. 'Are this the same eyes which made me wonder if he's normal or not?' I didn't realise how long I've been staring at him until he looked towards Ruby and spoke making me flinch. "Miss Ruby, I would like to have a word with you." I blinked my eyes bringing myself back to my senses as I saw him walking towards the dressing room. Ruby, after giving me a death glare, also followed him as I just stared at his back.
"He's scary." Avian said while placing his hand on his chest but I was drown in my own thoughts.
"He's something more than that."
