Chapter 46 - Share

Minos and Venix looked at each other. Honestly speaking, the two hadn't known each other for long, but the short time spent in this trial already let them understand the other.

It's said that some people could spend ten lifetimes together, yet they would never get close, yet other's feel like they had known each other for ten lifetimes, even though they had just met.

The strange man had said this may be the easiest trial they go through, and to Minos and Venix, he wasn't lying.

The both smiled in silence as the minute came to an end, and under the strange man's signal, they both spoke in unison.

"Share."

The strange man was slightly shocked by their complete lack of greed, but couldn't help but nod his head appreciatively.

"Very well, but how exactly you want to split it is up to you two." The strange man clapped, and both Minos and Venix were immediately teleported into a golden treasure room.

The entire room shimmered with a yellow light, further enhancing the opulence. The walls were lined with all sorts of treasures. Pills, weapons, strange objects, everything.

As the two browsed the treasures in wonder, a sudden phantom appeared in front of them. The phantom was airy, lacking complete form, however it was easy to tell it was some sort of old man.

"Welcome inheritor!" The old man said in a loud voice, before looking down at Minos and Venix before freezing.

"What the hell? Why are there two of you?" The old man started rubbing his eyes hard, but seeing as neither Venix or Minos disappeared, he seemed to come to term with things.

"Well, this is a bit awkward. My treasure was supposed to go to one person, so I'm not really sure what to do now…"

"Senior, can't we just split it?" Minos interjected.

"Boy, I wish it was that easy, however the truth is the real core of this inheritance isn't something that can be shared. Only one of you can have it." The old man said as he rubbed his chin.

"Hmm, how about this. One of you can have the treasures, while the other can take the real inheritance. You two can decide who gets what." finally said the old man.

"Since you were originally the one to choose the right door, you can make the call." Minos said as he looked at Venix.

For the old man to emphasize that the real core of this inheritance room wasn't this treasure space, it went without saying which one was more valuable.

However that wasn't at all to say the things here weren't valuable. In fact, with all the pills in the treasure room, even with Minos's poor talent, he could easily reach the Inner Heaven realm in a year's time, and maybe even reach the Aperture Opening Realm.

That's not even including all the weapons and strange treasures that could play a critical role in anyone's cultivation journey.

Compared to an unknown inheritance, the treasures here had an immediate and guaranteed value, so the decision wasn't quite as easy to make as one may originally think.

Venix didn't plan on pushing back Minos's offer at all. The two were similar, and he knew that since Minos made his decision, he wouldn't go back on it.

Knowing that, Venix couldn't help but think apprehensively about which to choose. While the unknown inheritance was more valuable, it probably wouldn't have an immediate boost on his strength.

These treasures, however, could immediately raise Venix's power, and finally give him the chance to get revenge. He didn't want to wait any longer, that was the reason he risked his life coming to this inheritance ground in the first place, despite knowing his enemies were right on his back.

He wanted to destroy the Thousand Split Sword Sect, and he didn't want to wait a moment longer. So even under the temptation of the unknown inheritance, he made his choice.
