After having shown the city guards at the gates his Mystic identification card, he was let outside. But not without their kindly reminder, after realizing how young he was, admiring his guts.
…
Leaving the city, Eric brought out the map he had purchased at the shopping district. Although it was very expensive, it was also well detailed, marking out the safe zones outside the city and also dangerous places that had large gathering of monsters at the edge of the safe zone.
Not knowing his strength gauge against monsters, he decided to try out the ones within the safe zone and also test out his combat ability.
'First, let's test out the basics and extent of the damage ratio. I can deal to monsters'.
'...Finding a low level monster,if possible the lowest of its kind to battle within the marked safe zone in order to prevent unforeseen circumstances, should be my priority.' feeling a bit nervous, and novelty at the thought engaging a fight with a monster, he set with his blade alone.
. . .
Rustle! rustle! rustle!
Startled by the rustling of leaves , Eric instantly became more alert of his surroundings than he had been for the past sixteen minutes since he arrived.
Taking stealth steps, he walked towards the direction, between the towering grass where the rustling came from.
Rustle!
A pair of long white ears suddenly popped up from the kneel-length grass field.
Attracting the attention of Eric as he keenly observed the four-legged beast with a cute, fluffy and innocent face that popped out between the grasses with caution. If not for its red menacing eyes with jaws dripping with blood , a vivid result of the feast it had been carrying on its fellow tribesmen which laid dead beneath it… Eric would have mistaken it for a lost pet.
Sighting his first prey, Eric became excited and a bit nervous.
Driven by adrenaline, he didn't hesitate and instantly stabbed forward with his blade , not giving the innocent monster the least moment to clarify or justify the reason for its blood dyed mouth...
Sadly he took the wrong footing, and misdirected his thrust towards the Monster's head to miss, instead piercing through the side of its neck, and leaving behind a bloody gash, a quite gruesome sight. .
However, this was still a Low Wild Monster Rabbit after all, it was not easy to deal with like it would, compared to its ordinary counterpart before the evolution years.
Barely saving itself from the seemingly black ordinary blade that almost took its life ,by a few mere inches... It turned, slightly kicking with its back legs, a reflective instinct of cornered life form.
The seemingly ordinary fruitless kick was full of strength as it went straight towards Eric's face....
Unfortunately, though the strength of the monster rabbit legs was there , it wasn't as long as the blade. Moreover, the blade was first to strike , because Eric thrust forward again, and slashed at its outstretched back legs, cleanly slicing them off.
Augmented by severing pain on it's neck, the now bloodied rabbit struggled for it's life... putting every last ditch of effort to end the life of the human who had injured it... Sadly it was all for naught, with both of its hindlimb cut off, there was no last ditch, landing in a futile attempt to leap towards its attacker .
Dead, it ended up.
In short, the rabbit was killed in one hit if miscounting the missed thrust.
The rabbit dropped dead to the ground with its missing pair of back legs, the nerves on its back twitched from time to time until it stopped moving.
Whilst, before Eric could celebrate his first kill, he felt an alarming sense of danger wash over him. It felt like bells were jingling in his ears, it felt as if the world was about to be colored blood-red.
He couldn't react enough to dodge his attacker's blow. Right there and then, everything he ever dreamed of would be shattered before it was even built and no one would know of Eric Maxwell, the soon to be humanity's strongest expert. He would perish in this unknown place of the wild, which no one gave a hell about, and be left to become a feast for Wild Monsters , with only bones left to tell of his tale. That's if those monsters were merciful enough to not chew his bones. He would die with nothing to remember him.
Without even turning, for the first time after his bloodline awakened, Eric burst forth with his full strength and speed, as everything turned hazy, unnoticed by him, a screen appeared before him .
Life at risk.
Conditions Met.
Granting Strongest Dragon Bloodline Inheritance.
Dragon! Slash!
A memory was then inserted into his head .
It felt like time stopped...
In a boundless scape, a place unknown to humankind, lightning roared as thunder reverberated, there was chaos and bloodshed everywhere, as countless behemoths engaged in a furious devastating battle.
And suddenly there was a dragon roar that seemed to shake the void with its rage.
Pausing the furious battle for a moment, as a shout was heard.
"Supreme! Slash!"
A terrifying and gigantic Black Dragon Claw appeared shrouded by lightning, encompassed by terrifying flames fueled by extreme rage. The Claw covered the whole scape, wanting to tear out the void.
Then everything ended, turning black…
Eric was encompassed with a terrifying aura that made the space around him tremble, creating little but barely visible spatial cracks in the surrounding space.
Suddenly, a high-pitched dragon's roar shook the skies, reverberating through the whole wide land with a mighty and supreme aura that couldn't be defiled.
Scaring the surrounding monsters as they turned to run.
Unseen, in the deepest part of the wild and sea, a place where even humankind greatest experts would have to tread carefully and not dare relax in the slightest, Monster Emperors who were equal to Ascendant Rank Mystic powerhouse, trembled, as they stared at the sky in horror and fright .
If those old fogies were to have witnessed this sight, then they would probably laugh to death, on all fours.
While all this happened, the Peak-Vicious Monster, Lightning Feral Cat that sneakingly attacked him, was obliterated into bloody pieces by the terrifying pressure around him before it could get close.
A deep scorch with a terrifying aura was left on the surface of earth by the skill suddenly unleashed which he had unleashed.
Realizing what had happened, Eric felt terrified, not bothering to take a look at the new pop-up screen that suddenly appeared in the air.
He ran.
...
Horizon City,
Capital of the Cosmic Star Federation, with the largest and highest population of humans. You could say the heart of every big association was located here, making the city more prosperous .
In a secret Conference Room, gathered were humankind strongest experts, said to be humanity's biggest Trump cards and the only few who had stepped into the renowned Ascendant Rank.
But the people in this room didn't seem to care about any of that as they chatted casually.
The 3rd ranked Flame Overlord, 7th ranked Wu well renowned for his Martial skills, 4th ranked Berserk King and a few others.
"Hey, why didn't that lightning bastard come over!"
Flame Overlord asked , due to his elemental ability, he was quite violent and quick to anger, but compared to the lightning bastard in question , he would be considered a gentle baby, so no one bothered about his comment.
" I think he went to have a duel, the last I time checked" replied God-Hand, the only blacksmith in their midst and also the most shortest.
" That idiot has always been insensible" said a feminine voice that belonged to the woman who had been sitting there quietly, speaking for the first time.
"So has anyone gotten the update yet?"
"Yh"
"Was it a new Monster Emperor?"
"I don't think so"
"The commotion wasn't from the other side?"
"... I think our human race, just gave birth to a new hero"
Hearing these words, they quickly thought outside the box, as experienced geezers they were able to immediately figure out the hidden meaning.
"Wasn't the awakening ceremony 2 days ago, how come someone just awakened today?!"
"...maybe it's the rare case of awakening late?"
"Ah!, as expected of those who awaken late, they always turn up with shocking talent, just like me" the other man bragged.
"Shut your freaking mouth up , no one asked you to boast about yourself"
"Say that again, and see if I won't beat you up"
"Silence!"
" The plan right now is to find the kid, not blabber nonsense"
"...We just need to check every school, for people who didn't awaken"
"Ok" they answered in unison.
After that, the room turned dark and empty again.
