Chereads / Supreme Dragon Bloodline / Chapter 8 - Black market

Chapter 8 - Black market

Eric had been in hiding for the past 3 straight days, not daring to take a step outside, talk more of going outside the city walls.

After probing and there was no news or topics about what happened 3 days ago, he finally felt relieved . And then, after much consideration, he made up his mind to step outside his comfort zone, but truth be told, his room wasn't that comfortable.

. . .

Meanwhile, 3 days ago…

10 minutes after Eric left the scene, a group of people with Peak Bronze Rank aura arrived wearing the city guards uniform. They searched the area and discovered nothing more than the deep scourge left behind by Eric's skill, that was still oozing out a draconic aura, not like they were able to tell.

Scanning the surrounding area one more time, they left to report to the Mayor .

After they left, another group with unknown ranks, covered in black cloaks which made them appear like grim reapers, stood silently as they stared at the deep scourge on the earth, before turning their backs to leave.

If those group of city guards who had left before, saw what was happening right now, then they would have been scared hell out and even called for the Mystic Guild's experts… Because this cloaked group were from the most notorious, mysterious, cruel and evil organization in the whole Cosmic Star Federation, famously known as Death Scythe, aka Yama Organization.

They were both against the Federation and extremely hated by the Monster. And as for why they haven't been exterminated or destroyed yet?

1 They were very mysterious and extremely secretive. The Federation had been trying to find their hideout for ages but no fruitful results.

2 They moved in the shadows and also try to exterminate human geniuses who refused to join them after invitation.

. . .

Now back to the present, Eric made up his mind

.

He was going to sell the rabbit's corpse, he hadn't forgotten to pick it up before making a run for it. After all, this was his first kill and trophy. He would have even taken a photo with it if not that he wasn't interested in getting attached to the past.

The main reason why Monsters were stronger than Mystics at the same rank when it came to raw power, was because they mainly relied on devouring each other to grow stronger, making them similar to body refiners , who walk on the path of physical strength.

So, even though the rabbit's corpse had been kept without any storage, it was still fresh and not rotten like how normal meat would rot during the pre-evolution days , when they mostly relied on freezing to preserve fresh meat.

During the last 3 days had sipped out the last bit of money left from what he was given by the Federation after registering as an Awakened Rank Mystic, a monthly allowance for Mystics, which increases with every breakthrough in ranks.

Afraid that he would be found out, he thought not to sell it to the Mystic Guild, since everyone who went there to sell Monster corpse would probably be monitored behind the background. To avoid problems, the black market was the best place to sell these kinds of goods.

The Mystic web, proven to be one of humankind biggest creations in AI tech, quickly gave him the answer with just him typing in the hashtag black market, and hundreds of searches were shown, including maps.

While the Black market was the best place to sell stolen items  and carry out different kinds of dirty exchanges, it was also signed under the government authorities.

What was even more unbelievable was that the black market was built right under his feet, with 10 exits spread all over different parts of the city.

Enlarging the map, Eric realized there was an exit not far from where he was.

"Thank goodness" he muttered, not wasting time as he ran towards the location.

After running for 5 good minutes, Eric stood there, staring at the large public restroom before, wondering if he was at the right location until he checked the map two times to confirm.

" The person who created this map is a genius". This one was one of the best camouflages that existed on this whole planet. Imagining what it took for someone to think so extreme and figure this out, Eric was amazed.

Even if you stole from the Mayor's mansion and came out of the black market using this place, no one would ever find you, because it was too easy to blend in with the crowd, as different kinds of people in different clothes usually patronize the restroom here.

Eric stepped into the public restroom, walking towards the most secluded toilet… According to the map, pressing one of the flush would open the wall and reveal a secret passage.

Fluurr!

A flushing sound came, and the tiled walls of the restroom opened to reveal the dark passage within.

"Wow"

Hesitating a bit, Eric stepped into the exceedingly dark corridor, but thanks to his enhanced vision brought by his bloodline, he could see a clear outline of everything in the dark.

About 10 minutes later, a large crowd of people appeared before Eric, walking past him as they ignored the fact he had walked out a secret passage. Not a surprise.

Despite the fact that everyone was in a hurry trying to carry out a dirty deal or search for people to scam, no one came to Andrew due to how broke he looked.

'Another poverty strike bastard that doesn't want to work?'

The place was surrounded by a circle of shops, darkly illuminated by light, there were many notice board placed in the middle of the area.

Some of them had trade offers written on them, while others had requests written on them.

In this place, where there were no rules, anything could be traded.

As long as there was money, anything could be bought.

As for those without money, they could only sell their labor to earn money.

The most common quest was to fight for others.

Helping wealthy individuals hunt wild beasts in exchange that they would equip you with good weapons to do so. Obtaining materials and sell them was one of the most common jobs, as there were a lot of wealthy people who buy skins, bones, and even horns of Monsters to showcase their status.

Sighing…

Eric walked into a shop that sought Wild Monsters.. The owner of the shop was a dwarf-like man wearing overalls. And upon noticing Eric, he hurriedly went to greet him with a shrewd smile.

" Hehe, are you here to sell Monsters or assign a request?" he asked with a shrewder smile, glancing over at the bag on Eric's back.

"Hmm"

Nodding, Eric lifted the bag from his back and dropped it with a thud sound,

"I'm here to sell," he said while opening the bag for the man to see.

"Hehehe" the man looked stunned for a moment before bringing Eric to a cleared table to drop the goods.

"Here, bring it out" the dwarf-like man said.

" Hmm" nodding Eric brought out the rabbit now cold corpse and dropped it on the table.

"Ehn?" The man stared dumbfounded at the cleanly separated rabbit legs, before Eric could even bring out it's other dismembered parts.

" What the hell!" the shorty shouted with righteous indignation.

" Why would you damage such a precious material like this". Gripping the pair of dismembered legs like they were his long-lost treasures, the man said, adding as he sighed, with a pained look on his face…

"... Now the value has been greatly reduced by this mistake of yours. Next time, while killing such, you should avoid cutting off the legs"

"50,000 dollars, that's all I have" the man said, without looking at Eric.

Silence...

Eric, without saying anything, prepared to return the rabbit's corpse into the bag.

"70,000" he added, but Eric didn't stop.

"wait wait wait… 100,000"

" This is an already damaged goods. If not, it would have been worth more than 200,000."

"Ehn?" Eric revealed a satisfied smile, he really didn't know the price or even the base price of selling a Wild Monster Corpse.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Eric, the short man smiled. Sure enough, Eric had thought he had outsmarted him.

'Your naivety was exposed the instant you entered, fool.'
