Both Kai and Lyon turned back to see the person who spoke out and they were shocked to see the man before them
What stood in their line of sight was a tall and handsome man in his late 20's with long, straight blonde hair and green eyes wearing a white tunic which is covered by a black shirt with long sleeves and high collar. In order to keep the shirt together, he wears a purple sash around his waist.
Moreover, he was also wearing white trousers and black high boots with a red robe with gold intricate designs at the lower front edge and complemented with a scarf of similar red color on top of his attire.
"Sir Phoenix!" Lyon and Kai voiced out in surprise. They recognized this man as Leon Phoenix, the son of the current Lord of one of the great royal houses, the house Phoenix and the captain of the 4th division of the magic knights.
"Nice to meet you fine lads and good job catching the enemy." Leon greeted and praised them for taking down the rogue mage.
"Thank sir Phoenix, we were just questioning him." Lyon spoke out.
"Is that so?" Leon looked towards the rogue mage with a swollen face and frowned.
"Alright, where are the rest of you lots and where did you send the others." Leon questioned Isaac with a frown.
"What happened to the others?" Kai asked with one of his eyebrows raised.
"When my squad, the adventurers and I were fighting against the undead, they were forcefully teleported away and I managed to escape." Leon explained. This just confirmed that Isaac was not alone in this and their group wasn't just to seek chaos.
Coming to this conclusion, Lyon and Kai frowned. Lyon was thinking what this guys main goal was while Kai was resisting the urge to punch Isaac's face again.
"At least, one more spatial mage must has invaded this city, where are they? Did they run away already? What's your objective?" Leon questioned Isaac.
"Hahahahaha!!" Suddenly, Isaac started laughing like a maniac.
"Our real objective is You!! Leon Phoenix!" Isaac said with a creepy smile.
"What?" Leon voiced out but suddenly, a black shadow around him and sucked him, teleporting him away without giving him time to react.
Both Lyon and Kai were shocked by this but Kai was the first to react. Kai rushed towards Isaac and grabbed him.
"You Freak!! Where did you send him?!" Kai asked with a shout but Isaac didn't respond and continued laughing.
"What's so funny? you bastard!" Kai shouted and punched him on the cheek but Isaac continued laughing.
"That accurate spatial magic.... the user wouldn't have been able to do so if they weren't close by. But where?" Lyon thought as he surveyed his surroundings.
His gaze fell upon a group of undead corpses and shot several ice lances towards it. One of the corpse jumped up and teleported away, dodging Lyon's attack.
His figure appeared on the top of the building, facing them.
"I figured that someone will see through my disguise. But it appears to be over now." The spatial mage said as he removed his disguise, revealing his true appearance.
Then, a spatial black portal opened and a body fell through. Having a closer look, it looked like a man with long blonde hair and was wearing a red robe. But the noticable thing about him was that it was missing its right arm and he was bleeding profusely.
"Sir Phoenix!!" Both Lyon and Kai shouted out upon recognizing Leon Phoenix.
Lyon quickly rushed towards Leon and examined his body.
"Good, I can feel his mana. Then he's still alive, I need to close the wound. But how is this possible? Why isn't he healing" Lyon thought as he began to close up Lean's wound using his ice magic.
The House of Phoenix is known for their unique magic: The Phoenix Fire Magic. A long ago, the first lord of the house Phoenix came across the legendary SS magic beast, the Phoenix and was blessed by it, gifting him its magic and this magic was passed down his future generations.
According to legends, the Phoenix is an mythical firebird known for its immortally. Not only are it's blue flames far more powerful than originally Fire magic but it also holds the special property to regenerate their body parts in flames, which restores them to their previous conditions in flames, making them dangerous opponents.
It is said that the Phoenix family's tears (known as Phoenix Tears) sell for a high price because of its powerful healing abilities, resulting in the Phoenix Family's immense wealth.
However, even the powerful Phoenix fire magic has its weaknesses. The regeneration of the Phoenix fire magic is dependent on the level of It's user magic power, therefore, if the user is out of magic power, they won't be able to heal. And like fire magic, it is also weak to water magic.
But Leon wasn't healing which he either ran of magic power or the enemy must have found a way to render the regeneration power of the Phoenix fire magic useless.
"You bastard, you think you can try to assassinate someone and run away? Have a taste of my iron fist. Take this and that and that!" Kai yelled out as he slammed his right fist onto Isaac's already swollen face.
"Fuck!! Miguel do something already!!" Isaac yelled out as he kept being on the receiving end of Kai's brutal punches.
"Damn it, we can't lose Isaac here. Looks like I have take care of that fire mage first." The spatial mage known as Miguel mumbled while opened a spatial gate Infront of him and then another spatial gate appeared on the ground close to Kai's back.
He was going to attack Kai via his own warp field but before he could, he swiftly moved to the right, dodging several ice lances.
"Like I will let you!" Lyon said as he made a wryly smile. He noticed the mage preparing to attack Kai while he was distracted beating up Isaac and he quickly reacted by launching several ice lances at the spatial mage.
"PATHETIC!"
Suddenly a voice spoke out
Upon that, Kai and Lyon looked around and saw that a sea of flames was surrounding them.
"We came after we got the message from him but look at you getting beaten to a pulp, After all that yapping at the hideout. That's so pathetic of you, Isaac." The voice said as several white hooded individuals stepped out of the sea of flames.
Kai and Lyon gritted their teeth as they saw their situation at hand.
