*Ding Dong Ding Dong*
The sound of the doorbell could be heard by Aaron, who had just completed those two quests. He peeked outside by slightly opening the wooden door to see who rang the bell.
"Huh... it's Garry... I thought he was joking," murmured Aaron as he rushed to open the door and welcome Garry inside. He was so glad he had cleaned up his place the night before.
Garry walked inside alone on an expensive looking electric scooter which he parked next to Aaron's car.
"I was a bit disappointed when you didn't try to contact me. The contact card I gave you had my personal number on it, you could sell that for a million hoho. Anyway, take this grant deed for the whole row of houses here. I bought them before I came here," said Garry as he placed the grant deeds on the kitchen table and sat down on a nearby chair. He then helped himself to a bottle of mineral water from the table.
"Woah, this water feels so good.. Wait…Is this the one from your artifact?" said Garry as he was genuinely shocked by the magical water effects.
"Sigh.. Why are you doing this Uncle Garry.. What is this grant deeds all about.. I need some context.. Artifact? It sounds very magical but I don't feel like it existed in modern world.." Aaron had enough with Garry's so he had to asked him seriously about whats happening right. He had to do it as he looked at the grant deeds gave to him, it was original and legit.
"Sorry, I should have done this in a better way. I guess I went overboard a little. I thought you youngsters liked something spontaneous like this. I'm pretty sure that you don't really know anything about me. So, I am Garry Chen, a billionaire who owns the whole residential area, and most importantly, I own an artifact just like you, Aaron. How was that for a proper intro? Hohoho.."
Aaron looked at how casually Garry had introduced himself, but it was still an incomplete truth which made him doubted more. He waited for a while for Garry to continue, but it seemed that it was time for him to reply since Garry wasn't continuing talking, and he seemed to be waiting for his reply.
"Sigh... I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but I'll follow along too. Hello there, I am Aaron Deen, and I rented this place recently. Hmm, I don't even know what artifact you were talking about, but yeah, I own a secondhand black sedan which I bought for below 5 grand during the pandemic last year, and I'm proud of it," replied Aaron casually as he seated himself on the chair opposite Garry's.
"Hohoho, you are way too skeptical for your age. Technically, when you practiced with your magical boots which allowed you to jump twice as high as usual, I saw them. I told you, right? I own the place, so almost every corner of this residential area was monitored by me. Don't worry, I have deleted the footage. So, I call your magical boots an artifact, and I also own one too. Are we good?" Garry stood up, took something from his pocket, and put it on the table. It was a wooden die, but without any dots on its surface.
"Here, try to hold this," said Garry as he handed the wooden die to Aaron.
Aaron took the die and suddenly his phone vibrated. He used his left hand to see what had given the notification and was surprised to see it was from his Gatcha app. It was the first time it had given a notification, so he immediately opened it. It was from the inventory where the magical item was kept.
[Legendary Prosperity Die (Bound to Garry) - Able to calculate the outcome of your decision. Do you have what it takes to see the future?]
Aaron was shocked when he saw the description of the die. It was actually the first legendary grade item he had ever come in contact with. He looked at Garry for a while, then threw the die. Garry immediately tried to stop him, but the die had already been thrown.
"Five dots...huh? The dots appear after the die is thrown," muttered Aaron as he looked at Garry, who seemed worried for no reason ever since he threw the die.
"Are you okay, Aaron?" Garry grabbed Aaron's hand, checking on his well-being.
"I told you I'm fine. Why are you so surprised and worried for no reason?" asked Aaron.
"Do you believe that ever since I got the die like 30 years ago, this is the first time someone else has used the die other than me. I tried to let my sons roll it, and it failed. Also...this is the second time the die has shown something more than three dots," explained Garry. He looked shocked but genuinely happy at the same time, which made Aaron wonder why.
Garry explained that the more dots shown on the die, the greater the degree of exhaustion it caused him every time he cast it. He also revealed that he had become the youngest billionaire thanks to the die's power. By choosing projects with more dots, he had been able to increase his profits. However, the highest he had ever rolled was only 3 before meeting Aaron.
After seeing the footage of Aaron double jumping with the boots, Garry cast the die to see if Aaron was worth investing in. He claimed that he lost consciousness for almost a day, and even after waking up and being treated by the best doctor in the country, he still felt exhausted. This was because the die showed 6 dots, the highest roll he had ever gotten in his life.
Garry was so impressed by Aaron's potential that he was open to helping him unconditionally. After all, 6 dots was no joke.
The moment Aaron received the die from Garry previously, he had been using the Mind Reading Pen to see if Garry was telling the truth or not, and he found out that Garry was actually genuinely honest the whole time.
When he threw the die to see if it was legit or not, he did feel exhausted for a while, but it was healed immediately by the pendant. He had gotten 5 dots by throwing the die earlier, and he recalled that he was wondering whether to trust Garry or not and he got 5.
"So, trusting him would benefit me a lot, huh? I guess why not, right?" thought Aaron as he passed back the die to Garry.
"Alright, I trust you. So, I am going to tell you about what I know and what I have. This will take some time. Are you sure you have time for something like this as a billionaire?" asked Aaron as he prepared to tell Garry about his system.
Garry nodded while continuing to drink the magical water. Aaron realized that he must have been mentally injured or hurt because of the die. It was indeed a legendary item.
Aaron spent an hour with Garry before he left for family meetings. During that hour, he learned a lot about the artifact. Garry also felt much better since Aaron let him use the magical pendant to heal from any old injuries that might have existed. He was so grateful that he gave Aaron a black-colored credit card containing almost millions of points. Aaron tried to reject it, but Garry insisted that they were in the same boat now.
Aaron wasn't sure why he said that, but Garry said that he would explain it later because he really needed to go now.
When Garry left, he actually felt unhinged for a while, but then he realized he still needed to meditate, so he took some time to learn how to meditate for beginners. He started meditating around 3 PM.
Later, around 5 o'clock in the evening, he completed the whole quest, and right now he had 13 tokens to use. He was so excited to do the 10x roll, especially when he realized it might be the opportunity for him to earn the skill token he had been waiting for a few days.
He was feeling slightly lazy to cook for the night, so he just ordered something expensive to try out the debit card given by Garry.
"It worked! I mean, what's the point of having this much money if I'm not going to use it, right?" thought Aaron as he picked out a few pieces of furniture to buy and fill his place with more things since Garry might visit from time to time. He opted for instant delivery since he could afford to pay for the delivery and everything, including unloading and transferring the furniture he bought.
