Velvet ran out of the beutique with tears gathered in her eyes.
She did it, she sold her designs, her dreams, she sold them all in exchange for a better and peaceful life for herself and her mom.
But it hurt her so much, she felt her air pipe was clogged.
She used her freehand that wasn't holding unto an almost empty cardboard box to clutch unto the clothes lying loosely over her chest as pain filtered into her bones.
Saying she felt hurt and heartbroken was an understatement..
Her whole body trembled, the weather that was sunny and bright seemed to be gloomy over her head, she sniffed, holding back as much tears as she could .
Meanwhile..
"Make sure to force every word of truth from him" Killian seethed, Katie adjusted herself in hiss embrace, pulling closer so she could listen to his conversation to which Killian, who was aware of her intentions, never objected.
Katie Fandor was a lowly Waitress in a run down bar when she met Killian, she met him when this emotionless and seemingly untouchable boss of the buisness world was at his lowest.
She took advantage of him and cleared her way into his heart.
Now she was finally living he life she deserved...
The life her measly and poor parents couldnt give her..
And she definitely wasn't planning to loose it to any bitch!
Killian listened keenly to the person at the other side untill he gave a very light sigh "turn torture up a notch, make him speak..... umm, ensure safety of the Velvet girl" he said significantly lowering his voice on the later part.
But Katie's keen ears still heard it, her brows furrowed as she turned to him who had already cut the call " whose Velvet?"
Killian just tucked his phone in his pocket " a lady who I owe something" he said nonchalantly, he indeed owed her her, he had yet to return the favour as she saved his mom, and recently helped him tackle a criminal.
He didn't intend on succumbing to anyone's emotional blackmail so he was going to pay her with two favours, whether in the open or not.
Katie pulled herself out of the embrace that she forcefully snuggled into "owed something?" She asked doubtfully.
Right at that moment, his phone dinghed and he switched it on, it was a massage from Rich, it read, 'situation report - safe but safety might be breeched in near future. ',
Killian's brows furrowed as he srolled downwards, a picture came into view, it was a picture from far off, a beautifull girl with fiery red hair holding unto a cardboard box, although the picture was taken sneakily by someone who seemed to have being walking beside her, one could see the crystall like tears gathered in the teems of he glistening fiery red eyes that cast a dull light.
Noticing the flash of unrecognizable emotions flash across Killian's eyes, Katie leaned closer and caught a glimpse of the picture, "killian!" She called out as tears gathered in her eyes as she stared at him.
"It's work Katie" he said without emotions but still didn't put his phone away.
"Work? Staring dazedly at another woman is work?"
"Understand Katie,... I'll explain later" Killian said finally attempting put his phone away.
Rage blurred Katie's reasoning as in a split second, she grabbed his phone sending it crashing a distance away, outside the window.
"Katie!" He bellowed as a flash of anger appeared in his onyx like eyes startling Katie she held a hand over her mouth as she loo,Ed at him full of greviances before pulling the car door open and racing out.
She ran as fast as her high heels would let her, she wasnt stupid, she only left because she was 99.9% sure that he would come after her, he hated misunderstanding between them afterall. Her body brushed hardly against another and the later fell to the ground "watch your way" she hurled before running away
Killian rubbed the space between his brows, this relationship was stressing him out mentally.
Nevertheless, he made his way out of the car just in time to see that person fall.
He stopped staring at the trembling figure on the floor before gazing at Katie who had run into the safe confines of her beautique just across the road.
He then squatted before the smallish frame as he silently helped pick the papers, his eyes landed on one of them, it was a professionall design of a dinner suit, beautifull gracefully wih delicate embroidery that tugged on his fancy, he was about to pick it up when another hand picked it first making him look up at her face.
"Velvet?"
Velvet looked up at those onyx black eyes, her lips trembled as a slight gash on her face dripped crimson blood rolling slowly over her pale lips.
Tears she had being struggling to keep in started flowing down like water from a broken damm.
All the pain bottled up in her were unleashed, ignoring the man before her and the blazing son above them, she hugged her knees to her chest burying her face in her hand as she cried.
Her light sobs and pain filled sniffles jolted Killian, he remembered how aggrieved she looked in that picture, this seemingly strong girl that didn't shed a tear even when facing death alongside his mother, who didn't fret when facing a trained martial artist in the middle of a kidnapp...
....was trembling as tears tumbled down unrestrained.
"Go away.." she sobbed lightly, she didn't want anyone to see her like this as she rocked unstable in her squatting position before falling backwards forcing her to sit on the side walk.
Killian grunted under his breadth before pulling her into his embrace with tightly furrowed brows.
Another stream of tears found their way to her eyes again as she broke out in sobs again.
He looked around, people were beginning to look at them and the last thing he wanted was to be surrounded by a generation worth of reporters, so he reluctantly gathered her into his hands carrying her to the car.
Poor driver busy minding his own buisness before being force fed dog food :"....?!"
Velvet who had to hold unto him in order not to fall :" .....?!!" 'Gaahhh! Can't you see a crying damsel and walk away?,
[Chibi Killian: don't look at me, I don't even understand myself, authour! Explain why I'm carrying a random woman!!"]
[Authour: she's the FL idiot!]
[Chibi Killian: ( °O° )]
The driver quickly came down from the car, resuming the suddenly abandoned mission of picking the littered papers.
