Chapter 39 - None Can Ever Replace You

'' Thank you for dropping me, Sebastian.'' Getting down from the carriage I thanked that person whom I just defeated so badly just a while ago. He chuckled and said, '' I should be the one thanking you. None can see the golden aura so easily let alone getting beaten by that.'' I grinned, '' Aren't you hurt that you got defeated for the first time in your life?'' Sebastian had a calm smile on his face unlike our past life, he is a different person who just got beaten up by an unexpected person. He looked at the evening sky which turned a kinda purple color. '' I am rather happy to know that the person I decided to follow is worth my loyalty and efforts.''

The cold breeze started flowing spreading the fragrance of roses in the greenhouse. I closed my eyes enjoying the silence of peace between us. My mind was filled with worries and nonsensical things but having a spear made my mind calmer and relaxed enough. I felt something warm around me and it was Sebastian's coat. My eyes met his sky blue eyes which always made me wonder what hides behind them, sadness, guilt, anger, regret, and many more.

'' Valentiara, The journey from here will be harder than ever, without the name of Casvoner you will so face so many obstacles to achieve your ultimate goal,'' His Honey sweet voice mixed with utmost sincerity and warmth sounded like a melody in my ear. I blinked my eyes a few times without saying something waiting for him to continue. Sebastian squeezed my shoulder a little tightly and what he said next made my heart skip a beat without any warning, '' But I want you to remember, you have someone who supports your craziest and risky goal blindly.''

Having someone to support my goal? My eyes turned teary but it wasn't tears of sadness but happiness. I nodded and patted his hand which was on my shoulder, '' That makes you my partner in crime, Sir Sebastian.'' He giggled and nodded.

THIRD-PERSON POV

Valentiara and Sebastian were joking around without caring about their surrounding. But, there was one more person who was watching them closely using invisible magic while breaking his heart, it was none other than Izaak.

Izaak came to wish Valentiara farewell after knowing she will be going to Dhakun tomorrow through Waren whom he met accidentally. He was excited to give her a small gift to make her last day in the Grand Duchy a little more memorable but what he saw was her getting down from the Erars carriage with Sebastian. Izaak hid immediately using invisible magic. He was curious to know about Valentiara's relationship with Sebastian but he didn't predict that they will be so close.

And he realized their closeness. Sebastian was close to Valentiara enough to expose her power, close enough to spend time while dueling, close enough to get emotional by hearing his words, close enough to show Sebastian her real smile which Izaak never got to see. Izaak always knew that the smile Valentiara wears is always fake and the thought of another man seeing her genuine smile before him made him doubt so many things.

Izaak bite his lower lip and watched them laughing. Valentiara's smile was too beautiful to be true, the way she giggled cutely, the way her eyes turned half-moon shaped when she laughed made Izaak's heart flutter. How much he wished Valentiara could show him that very same smile every time. He hated Sebastian for seeing Valentiara's genuine side but at the same time, he felt grateful that at least one person could bring Valentiara out of her cage.

Izaak took a deep breath and decided to leave them there because he knew his heart isn't that strong to see his love with someone else. He turned around and started taking steps away from Valentiara with an aching heart without knowing the whole truth.

END OF THIRD-PERSON POV

I turned around my head and a sad smile appeared on my lips. Sebastian asked me, '' What are you looking at?'' I shook my head and looked back at him. '' Sebastian, We won't be able to meet in 5 years directly but I will be giving you lots of work in the meantime.'' He chuckled and winked playfully, '' You can't underestimate my skills, Valentiara.'' I nodded, '' That's a relief. At least one of us needs to operate things from the frontline.'' Sebastian gave me assurance that our plan will be successful in the end. I didn't keep dragging our talk and bid farewell to him.

Entering the grand duchy's mansion I saw the servants greeting me. I took a glance around the place and mumbled, '' Seems like he didn't enter inside, that's a relief that he saw me with Sebastian.''

That's right, I knew Izaak was in front of Grand Duchy's main gate. How couldn't I when none feels his aura and cherry blossom like body fragrance like me? Even if Izaak uses invisible magic to hide his traces from others, I can still feel him. I don't know why is it like this from the very start, maybe due to my aura which is considered to be a rare one I am more sensitive. I acted so frank with Sebastian intentionally to make Izaak believe that it's better if he stops falling for a person like me who isn't even honest with him. I walked inside my room and closed the door behind me. My bags were all packed and I will be finally leaving the Grand Duchy of Casvoner and its surname tomorrow. I looked at my reflection, the dress, pendant, and hairpin Izaak gifted me looked too beautiful to be true but I don't deserve it. I took off the hairpin and let my hair fall over my shoulder. Kissing the hairpin I couldn't help but get emotional,

'' Please, Don't Fall For Me Again. Please, Be Happy With The Right Person This Time. Izaak, Your existence is irreplaceable in my life but please, make me replaceable this time. I don't deserve your heart.''

IZAAK'S POV

I took out the other half of the pendant that I gave Valentiara today. She doesn't know but this pendant has two parts. I kissed that and mumbled, '' Even if I have to give up on the world, I won't give up on you. Because there none who can ever replace you in my heart, My Love.''

They Prayed different things but with each other in their mind. If it's not fate, what it was? She was ready to be sacrificed for regret and he was ready to sacrifice for love, whose prayer held more weight to God, only the time could answer that question.
