Chapter 43 - Dhakun, The Hidden Powerhouse

'' My lady, We have arrived in Dhakun,'' The carriage driver opened my carriage door. Taking a deep breath and calming my nervous yet excited self, I stepped outside on the land of Dhakun.

Dhakun is the land of scholars, wizards, and swordmasters and the place from where the flow of power is controlled under the name of 'Merit Council' which consists of the greatest talents of the empire in any field. Looking at the lively and busy downtown of Dhakun, I couldn't help but get amazed by its beauty. Most of the people there were either students or professors, laughing, sharing ideas, and having serious discussions that eventually changes the political world in the high society out there. I am back to this once again, the fear of getting lost once again and ending up losing everything that I ever cherished somehow got overshadowed by the hope of a better future.

I smiled and said to myself, '' Let's change the game, Valentiara.'' Taking two of my bags I started for the main campus of Dhakun Academy. Looking around there were many familiar faces from my past life and the funny thing is that I might remember everything but none of them knew about me. I reached the campus reception where the information is stored about everyone who enters Dhakun's academy program. There wasn't a long line in front of the office, guess coming earlier than the scheduled time can offer unexpected facilities.

'' Excuse me, May I know my room number?'' I asked the person who was sitting at the front office with his chair facing the back. This person must be slacking off because this place isn't crowded. '' Name, faculty, and year?'' I heard a very familiar yet unfamiliar voice. Judging by the husky deep voice this person must be a man but the chair was blocking me from seeing that person's face. Who is he? I tried to remember where did I hear this shockingly familiar voice and that person turned around making me choke on my breath.

'' YOU!'' I almost screamed while pointing my finger at him. He stood up immediately in shock after seeing me. '' What are you doing here?'' I asked him once again. '' I should be asking the same, why are you here now?'' He asked me back. I frowned and took a good look at his clothes. Ash-colored luxurious robe and white shirt underneath with three purple gemstones attached as a decoration at the left side of his robe. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The perverted man I met at that secret Lavander field is a 3rd-year student of the Magic Department and not only that he has 3 purple gemstones which means he topped his class for all those years.

Purple, Red, and Blue gemstone, these three are awarded to the 3 toppers of each department respectively, not even I could get 3 purple gemstones despite being the best but this man. A person who is proficient and powerful enough to get 3 purple gemstones yet never appeared in my past like before. Something isn't right.

'' Who are you?'' I asked him coldly, his grin started fading slowly and a confusing pain was written all over his face but I couldn't understand why would he be sad about me asking him who he is. But that sadness didn't last long and he smiled once again before replying to me,

'' Iarake, My name is Iarake.'' I blinked my eyes after hearing his name. I never heard that name before ''Iarake? Is that even a name?'' He rubbed his neck in embarrassment, '' My mom gave me my mixing her's and dad's name. So it sounds weird.'' I couldn't control my laughter after hearing the not-so-funny story behind his name. '' Your parents must have a loving relationship then.'' He had a soft and warm smile while looking at me, '' They are the most loving and daring couple I have ever seen.'' I didn't know but his gaze made me feel uneasy for some reason. What's wrong with me? Ever since I have met this person I keep getting weird feelings.

'' You know me, don't you?'' Iarake didn't say anything other than 5 words, '' You will know me better.'' Huh! He looked at the magic pale palette and told me about my room. I followed the instruction and went to my room. My room was close to the main campus of Dhakun and I am sharing this with one more person. I wonder who my roommate will be.

After unpacking my bags and decoring my part according to my wish, I laid down on the bed and let out a sigh of relief. Looking at the celling of my new room, I sorted my thoughts out. Feeling my eyelids getting heavy I realized that I am tired from all those exhausting thoughts. So much happened in just a few days, from having a large family to an orphan in one day, what a great change! I turned around and hugged my pillow, it's better to live in the moment instead of breaking my head over the past.

THIRD PERSON POV

The sun went down and the moon shined in the sky. Valentiara who was too exhausted from everything that happened was sleeping as if there is no future without realizing someone entered her room.

Iarake looked at Valentiara and pulled a blanket over her. A sad smile was plastered on his lips as he patted her head softly and mumbled, '' You look different now. I missed you so much, great thing that you don't know me, or else things would've been difficult if you did.''

OTHERSIDE

Moon Palace,

Izaak flinched and opened his eyes. Aiden who was standing next to Izaak frowned looking at Izaak's reaction,'' Did something happen to Lady Valentiara?'' Izaak gulped down and replied, '' Shadow eyes can't see her suddenly an unfamiliar magical power blocked them.'' Aiden frowned, '' Powerful enough to block shadow eyes?'' Izaak started to feel nervous when he couldn't use one of the biggest power to see Valentiara.

'' Prepare for departure, I will be going to Dhakun within 2 days. Valentiara is powerful but I can't let something with unknown source magic hang around her. ''
