Zarek returned his attention to Lucien. The king's hand rested on his shoulder now, while Lucien shook the hands of the councilmen. That should be him there, not Lucien. He was the legitimate heir to the dragon throne, not Lucien. But there Lucien was enjoying everything that is rightly his and there was nothing he could do about it.
Reggie was right about one thing, Lucien sure had nine lives. But it did not matter how many lives he had, he will eventually run out.
"Are you a fan of Lucien now? I thought you were on my side," Zarek asked, his eyes never leaving Lucien.
Reggie huffed. "This has nothing to do with sides, my lord. You are simply raising too much dust and I can't have that."
He glanced briefly at Zarek. "Imagine if Badak were to get caught and he exposes you before your father and the entire kingdom. What would happen to your mother's dream of making you King?"
