Chapter 4 - Scums Like You

Arabelle quickly checked out of work after making the necessary accounts for the day. She had successfully managed the day without ripping Khloe's head off and to her, it was a great feat especially since her mouth refused to hold still throughout. It was as if her purpose in the office was to torment her.

She hurriedly boarded a cab which dropped her right in front of the same bar she had drunk herself to stupor the night before. Her main purpose was to find the man whose sinfully magnetic voice had refused to leave her head since that morning.

She settled down by the bar counter, ready to order a drink when the light of her phone which she had dropped on the counter switched on. Her face which had a hopeful look on considerably darkened when she saw the name displayed on her screen. RYDER.

Thinking of the name brought an acrid and bitter taste to her throat. She had totally forgotten he didn't know that she was aware of his disgusting and repulsive cheating acts. Her hands picked up the phone as she pressed answer.

"Hey babe. I missed you a lot." His voice sounded and her brows couldn't help but furrow. He hadn't called her since she had caught him last week. She didn't say it out loud though. She wanted to see exactly what he was up to.

"Didn't you miss me?" His voice sounded again and she couldn't help but cringe at the way his voice sounded. She couldn't even believe she had been so blinded by him and his fake acts.

"Babe, are you there?" Hearing him speak again, she realized she had not said anything.

"Hmm" Was all she said.

Ryder didn't seem to sense anything wrong with her behavior, or maybe he did, but chose to ignore it. "Let's go out for dinner. I have something to tell you. Where are you? Let me come and pick you up."

Arabelle sighed heavily. She indeed knew that if she stayed on the phone for a little bit longer, she would feel the need to lash out at him. "Tell me where we are having dinner. I will come myself." To finally break all our relations. But she didn't say that out loud.

She hung up the call when Ryder had finally agreed to text her the address. A message came into her phone just then. She opened it and her eyes quickly scanned through the message. He wanted to meet at EAT O'CAFE. Arabelle sat there, her eyes filled with a lazy expression as she scanned the bar. It would be fun to be late on a supposed date.

She sat unmoving for an hour, her grip tight on the drink she had ordered not long ago. She couldn't help but admit that one of the reasons she was delaying, was not only to spite Ryder, but to also see if the man from the night before would approach her.

An hour passed and Arabelle finally got up. She grabbed her bag, squeezing through the crowd of people whose bodies were filled with sweat as they danced to the loud music that was coming from the speakers.

She finally got outside and boarded a cab to where Ryder wanted to meet. She walked into the cafe with gentle steps. It wasn't long before she saw Ryder but she stopped in her tracks when she saw who was with him. Her step-sister.

She quickly resumed walking, behaving as if she wasn't affected by what she saw. She knew what they wanted to say and she obviously wouldn't give Ryder the satisfaction of breaking up with her first.

She quickly walked up to them, a smile grazing her soft, pink lips as if she was oblivious to all that was happening around her. She settled down on the chair in front of the two cheating backstabbers.

"Sister, I have missed you." Nina, her step-sister smiled at her. Anyone who saw her would think she was the definition of innocent. She made people protective over her with her almond shaped eyes, long, straight black hair, straight nose and thin lips.

"I haven't." Arabelle cut straight to the point, her gaze cold as she stared at her. She wasn't going to be like her b**** of a sister and fake a smile when she actually didn't like her.

Tears gathered in Nina's eyes and Ryder quickly jumped to her rescue. "Do you have to be so inconsiderate and heartless?" A bitter chuckle escaped Arabelle's mouth at that. She was suddenly tagged as the bad sister.

"I am inconsiderate? This is a pure definition of the 'pot calling the kettle black.' Didn't you guys think you were the heartless ones when you were busy enjoying cheating behind my back. Oh, and Ryder, we are done." Arabelle smirked seeing the shocked look on their faces. It felt good to trample over them before they could make a move on her.

"Sister, we wanted to tell you today. I didn't expect that you would find out this way. If you want, I can leave him for you. I would do anything for you." Nina teared up again and Ryder quickly pulled her into his arms to comfort her.

Arabelle stared at their public display of affection with downcast eyes. She could see the slight smirk Nina had as she buried herself in Ryder's chest. Her eyes narrowed with anger but she quickly calmed herself down. She had to be patient if she wanted to make them pay.

"You don't have to pretend, sister. You can keep the used rag. Scums like you deserve each other." Arabelle hissed out, her blue eyes holding sparks in them.

Hearing this, Ryder slammed his palm on the table, attracting the attention of some other customers in the cafe. His body shook vehemently as he clenched his fists, bringing them to his side. His eyes blazed with fury as he spoke "I never loved you Arabelle, deal with it. It's your sister I love so stop being so wicked and leave us alone. I WILL NEVER LOVE YOU. Get that into your thick skull."

Arabelle chuckled bitterly. This was coming from a man who had uttered countless love confessions to her.

Her words came out firmly as she said "I promise you, I will make sure both of you die a slow and painful death. You would beg me, but I wouldn't listen. I am going to enjoy your sufferings in the future. It was not nice knowing you two." Arabelle grabbed her bag, her hips swaying as she walked out of the cafe.

She had finally gotten rid of the two pests.
