Chapter 45 - Visiting Hours

Carlton Miller looked around his hospital room as he watched his children and grandchildren fuss over him.

He knew that most of them were only eager to help so that they could secure their inheritance. It was a wonder to him that they could keep fooling themselves into thinking that he didn't know.

It was so obvious when one of them had impure intentions. Their scheming and plotting had been an age-old tradition in families like theirs, he had hoped that he could bring up his children differently, but it seemed that he had somehow failed. 

There were a few, however, that he knew were honest and kind, like his eldest, Edmond whom he had decided would inherit the company after him.

"Okay, visitation hours are over," a nurse said as she entered the room.

"What?!" Harold asked in a pissed-off tone. "Since when did the Presidential suite of the Arlington National Hospital have a cut-off to its visitation hours?"
