Maya sat behind her laptop, unable to work as she drummed her fingers on her desk.
"What's up with you today?" one of her best friends Celia Nichols asked as she rolled her office chair back and tilted her head towards Maya.
"Nothing," Maya simply answered, not wanting to share too much information about her personal life in the office.
"Fine," the other woman said as she threw her hands in the air and went back to work.
For the rest of the morning, Maya barely got any tasks done her mind kept drifting back to something Nathaniel had told her.
"Okay, that's enough," her friend said as she got up and closed Maya's laptop. "Lunch then coffee and you're telling me what exactly is bothering you."
Maya frowned but wordlessly got up and followed Celia out of the office.
