My stomach begins to hurt. Ajay brought back bottles of beer. I have not drunk in ages. All the other girls had fruit juice. Of course, me being me, I had to do the most deviant thing.
"Let's play, spin the bottle," Smoke suggests.
Ajay laughs. "I have a funny feeling some people would leave that game being very offended."
"Maybe if you didn't want my girlfriend," Chetan remarks while taking a sip of beer.
"Just in case you needed a reminder, she was mine first," Ajay says.
"I guess none of that really matters now."
"It's only a game everyone," Smoke points out.
"I'm game," says Ajay.
I look at Chetan. He doesn't seem like he wants to play. I already made him a promise.
"I think Chetan and I are going to sit this one out."
"No, I'll play," Chetan says.
"You will?" I can't help but this completely shocked me.
"I want to see Ajay's reaction when other men kiss Aanya," Chetan says.
"I doubt I'm going to be a big crybaby about it," he hisses.
I am pretty sure my mouth is still open. Are we really doing this?
We all gather around in a big circle and take one bottle in the middle of us.
"I'll spin first," says Ajay.
"I want to make something clear: this is just opposite sex, because I am not kissing some dude," remarks Chetan.
We all laugh.
"This is so immature," Kiara says.
"You don't have to play," responds Cricket.
Kiara rolls her eyes. We all know that Cricket just doesn't want her to play.
Ajay spins the bottle, and it lands on Kiara.
"And we are only allowed to just kiss once, quit and over, no sitting there and making out," Cricket says.
Kiara and Ajay kiss. It was weird seeing them kiss because they weren't together previously. Cricket handles that nicely; he doesn't even seem jealous.
"Let's try that person's partner spin next," Ajy suggests.
"That would be me,'' Cricket says.
Cricket spins the bottle and it lands on me. This is going to be extremely strange. I don't have a strong relationship with Cricket. Kissing Cricket was weird, though it was short and to the point.
"Chetan, you spin," says Cricket.
Chetan takes a drink of his beer before spinning the bottle. He spends it, and it lands on Aanya. No freaking way. I do not want him kissing her.
Chetan smirks at Ajay, and it somehow feels like he is enjoying this. Some type of revenge? He grabs Aanya's face with his hand, and he brings his lips to hers. I almost want to cover my eyes. This is disgusting.
What is he doing? He kisses her heavily. They make out, and Chetan grabs Aanya's hair. And she's practically in his lap.
Ajay does not look happy, and the rest of the pack looks just as shocked as me. I never thought Chetan would do this.
Ajay stands up and physically pulls them apart. I feel my eyes water, but I hold back tears.
"What the hell is that?" Ajay yells.
"Here we go," Smoke says, chugging the rest of his beer.
"That's not so fun when someone is smooching your girl," Chetan says.
"I hope you got satisfaction out of that," Ajay says.
"I did, thanks," Chetan remarks.
Ajay walks up and grabs my face with his hands. He tries bringing his lips to mine. I put my hand in the air.
"I made Chetan a promise," I say with tears running down my face.
"Zare" Ajay says, wiping my face free of tears.
Ajay walks over and grabs Chetan by the shirt."This is for hurting Zare," he yells, punching him in the face.
Chetan grabs his bloody nose. "So that's why you punched me in the face, not because I just made out with your girlfriend, you always worried about Zare."
"No, that's what this is for," Ajay says, punching him again.
The two break into an all-out brawl, punching and kicking each other. I feel too upset to either watch it or stop it. I move over to a nearby tree and sit down.
Moments later, the pack seems to have got the fight uncontrol. Cricket holds back Ajay and Smoke holds back Chetan as the two yell at each other. I saw Dev walking toward me. He sits next to me under the tree and holds his arms open.
"Come here," he tells me.
I embrace Dev and lay my head on his chest. He ran his fingers through my hair. This wasn't awkward, because Dev and I are great friends. He kisses me on the head.
"Zare, I think Chetan did that specifically for revenge,'' he tells me.
"What if he wants Aanya?"
Dev laughs lightly. "Trust me, you're all he wants, and Aanya, she's not his type. You're more beautiful than her."
"You really think he thinks that."
"He tells me all the time how Ajay downgraded and wants to rub it in his face," Dev laughs.
"Yeah."
"I know it still hurts, though." He says, rubbing my back.
After several moments, I began to feel really tired, and I'm pretty sure it was alcohol I haven't drunk in so long that was having an effect on me. Soon I feel my eyes close.
"She's asleep," I hear Dev say.
"I am an ass," Chetan says.
"Just a little, but I know it's built-up anger towards Ajay," Dev remarks.
I woke up, hearing Chetan, but I pretended to be sleeping.
"She's upset, I messed up. The revenge was great, but it wasn't worth hurting Zare.
"She thinks you want Aanya," Dev laughs.
"Like I am not attracted to her at all," Chetan says.
"Just tell her all that in the morning," Dev suggests.
"I'm surprised Ajay didn't come to comfort her," Chetan remarks.
"Yeah, I beat him to it," Dev says.
"Thanks, I owe you," Chetan tells Dev.
"By the way, your face looks fucked up. I hope Ajay's looks the same or you got your ass kicked," Dev laughs.
"I am sure Ajay's clutching that broken rib," Chetan remarks. Broken rib. What the hell happened?
