I woke up in Chetan and my sleeping place. Chetan carried me to bed last night. I heard him whisper in my ear that he was sorry. I don't want to make him feel horrible anymore. It was perfectly clear that he was sorry. I see Chetan sitting on the ground with his hands over his face.
"What's wrong?" I rub his back.
"I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am," he tells me.
"I know, I guess you got revenge on me too.
"That wasn't my intention," he responds.
"I have done plenty of unfair stuff to you."
"It's just every time he kisses you, every time he is with you, he knows how much I love you," he explains.
"I know."
"And I wanted to make him feel that pain, but I should have thought how that was going to hurt you, and I am sorry," he tells me.
"You don't have any feelings for Aanya?"
"No, none, she's not my cup of tea," he tells me.
I lay down, pulling him on top of me. I kiss him viciously, taking off his shirt. He smirks at me. "They say make-up sex is the best."
The others are sitting by the fire. Everyone seems quiet after last night. Chetan walks out with just his jeans and shirt off. I lay down for a while, only wrapped in a blanket. Chetan kissed Aanya like that just to piss off Ajay, but why would Aanya kiss him like that?
"Is Zare okay, I'm going to go see her," Dev says.
"She is probably still not dressed," Chetan remarks.
"Seems like you two lovebirds work it out," Dev laughs.
"She can't stay mad at me for long," Chetan runs his fingers through his hair.
Watching Chetan, he is very good-looking. His body was physically built with Abs. His hair is long, and I love it. I decided to get dressed quickly, throwing my clothes on. I wear a pair of shorts and one of Chetan's baggy sweaters.
"Pack meeting," says Ajay, stepping out of the trailer.
I walk up just in time to hear Ajay be professional.
"First off, that's the last time I buy the pack alcohol. And next, we will never have game day again," he says laughing. I notice he grabs his ribs.
"I told you it was a bad idea," Kiara says, flipping her hair to the side.
"What happened between Chetan and I is over, I guess we beat the bad feeling out of each other," Ajay says.
Everyone went in different directions. I notice Aanya trying to hold Ajay's hand, and he pulls it away. He must only be mad at her for last night.
Chetan was laughing with Dev and Ash when I walk up to them.
"I am going to the falls to wash up."
"Zare Alec is still out there," Chetan says.
" I will be fine."
"No absolutely not, I am coming with you," Chetan tells me, grabbing my hand.
I hear the clicking of horse hooves. It was very obvious that this was Elfie and his herd of centaurs. Ajay finally hears it and stops speaking. It was a reason to be nervous, why would they be coming towards us?
Soon, the horse beast is in full view. All the pack gathers around and waits for Ajay's command.
"Good morning Elfie," Ajay says. Approaching the leader.
"We need to speak", Elfie says.
"Indeed," agrees Ajay.
"But it seems you're already chosen your side," Elife says.
"How so?" Ajay asks.
"Why are there cold ones among the pack?" Elife asks.
"That's Zare, she's only half-vampire, the other part is werewolf, which is my cub and my responsibility," Ajay explains.
"And the boy?" Elfie points at Ash.
"That is Ash, Zare's friend and now a part werewolf," Ajay says.
"The vampires killed a few of my herd and will pay," Elife says.
"They should answer for their actions," Ajay agrees.
"Cut any and all vampires, anyone associated with them is our enemy," Elife," announces.
"Zare and Ash are harmless," Ajay says.
"If you want to move forward with the centaurs, they need to be destroyed or we will no longer have an alliance," Elifie yells.
Chetan changes into his wolf and stands in front of me. Growling like a caged animal.
"Sorry, as you can see Zare's mate is pretty protective, and nobody will be destroying Zare or Ash on my watch," Ajay says.
"Then I guess you are our enemy," Elifie hisses.
"If that's the way you want it, fine. The werewolves and half vampires in this pack mean you no harm," Ajay declares.
Just another pack of creatures wanted to destroy me. Just another day in Sandy Shores. But I know one thing: Ajay and Chetan are going to be 10 times more protective.
I watch as the Centaurs gallop off. Ajay is so calm and collected, but I know deep down inside he is mad.
"Let's go after them and bring the fight to them," Cricket says.
"No, vampires are still the enemy," Ajay says.
"How dare him to come over here and make demands," Smoke remarks.
"I'm already ready to rip them apart," Chetan hisses.
"No, there's no fighting today," Ajay says.
"Then I'll take my half and go," Cricket yells.
"Fine then leave, my cubs are staying put," Ajay says.
"I am not leaving,'' Aanya cries.
"Trade Kiara for Aanya," suggests Cricket.
Ajay looks at Aanya for a moment. Then shakes his head. "Sorry no, I will not part with any member of my pack."
Anaya runs off crying. I don't feel bad for her.
"Cricket, don't leave please." I feel the water rushing down my face.
"We have to stop avoiding fights, we have to show that we want to lead by example," Cricket announces.
"At the cost of what? Seeing your friends dead. What about Aanya or smoke or your mate Kiara?" Is it worth leading by example then? Ajay yells.
Cricket looks at his cubs.
"If they come here looking for a fight, they will receive one. But I'm not losing members of my pack over dumb shit. If they wanted to fight, they would have attacked today and they didn't," Ajay says.
"Fine," says Cricket, walking away.
Chetan has returned to his human form. "I am going to make sure Aanya is alright, under no circumstances do you go to the falls by yourself, do you understand me?" asks Chetan.
I nod.
I watch as Chetan walks off. Why does he care about Aanya? Something is definitely on the line between her and Ajay. Was it just a kiss yesterday?
I sit under the tree. I am so sick of being told what to do or where not to go. First my Alpha and now my mate.
Everybody was busy doing some type of work. Dev and Smoke cut firewood. The girls are like nannies and are knitting some new blankets. Ajay was in the woods hunting for dinner, and Cricket was working in the garden. That was something they started to have fresh vegetables. We all could use some water. I walk over to the trailer and grab one of the big pails. I don't care what Chetan says. We all could benefit from some fresh berry water.
Carrying the heavy pail, I enter the woods and walk towards the waterfall. I smell no other scents, and that makes me feel relieved. I like listening to my feet crushing on the ground beneath me. It was so quiet today.
Finally making it to the waterfall, I take in a big sniff of the fresh air. I love the way the moist air smells next to the waterfall. Sticking the bucket in the water, I filled it up until it was heaping full.
Now I smell the scents. AB and Alec. They were together. And almost near.
I look around, but I don't see them. Then I hear rustling in the bushes.
" Zare, Zare, what a pleasant surprise," AB snickers.
"What do you want AB?"
"Alec here is just crazy about you, join my clan again, and he'll be all yours," AB says.
"I'm perfectly fine."
"You need to be with monsters who understand you," AB says.
"I'm not a monster."
"Oh I've heard your conversations with Ash, I know you feel like one, and that's because you are one, because we are killing machines," AB remarks.
"That's not me."
I feel Alec behind me. He was there in moments. I feel his hand rub on my chest and his lips on my neck.
"Imagine how good it would be," he whispered in my ear.
"Quit touching me."
The fear escapes me, as I smell Chetan's scent. Then I see a huge werewolf in front of me. Alce falls to the ground. My eyes are shocked to see Alec's hand in Chetan's mouth.
Alec screams, clenching his handless arm. The smell of flesh fills my nose, and I see black blood on the ground.
"If you ever part your hands on my girl again, you'll lose the other one," Chetan screams.
I see Ajay approaching. He looks pissed.
"We will leave," AB says, helping Alec up.
"Stay away from Zare," Chetan hisses.
"Ok, I will do Toodaloo," says AB walking away.
Chetan grabs my face with one hand, pushing me back towards the wall which surrounded the waterfall.
"You have no idea how infuriated I am Zare," he yells in my face.
I hear the water pouring from the fall.
I nod. "I know."
Ajay runs by Chetan's side. He places his hand on his shoulder.
"I know dude, it's aggravating. This isn't the answer. You're going to do something you're going to regret," he tells him.
Chetan drops his hold of my chain. "You can never just listen."
"They weren't hurting me."
Chetan glares at me. I don't think I've ever seen him this mad.
"Zare, if you trust them so much, then leave the pack and join the clan," he yells.
I shake my head. "No."
Chetan walks away, and Ajay follows.
