Chapter 16 - War (1)

In an office, there was a gentleman signing some papers. His appearance resembled someone around 60 years old. With elegant hair and beard, that gentleman conveyed a noble atmosphere.

Suddenly, the office door opened. He stopped signing the papers and looked to see what was happening, and upon looking, he noticed Ava in front of him. "Has the king's game already started?" asked the gentleman to her. "Yes, director, the game has already started and we have already obtained some rare pearls." Ava replied and said: "Some students have already shown their true face. This year there will be more expulsions than the year before last, probably."

Just like in football, there are geniuses who are marked in history, such as Ronaldinho for example. In this world, there are also genius heroes who were marked in history, an example is the academy director: his name is Alvarez Solansky, a renowned hero who acted in the past. His story is only of glory. Of the 180 solo missions he participated in, all were successfully completed, saving all hostages and defeating villains.

Every year there is an award called "The Best Hero of the Year". In this award, judges and the public vote for a hero to be chosen as the best hero in the world, and Alvarez Solansky won this same award 14 times. Without a doubt, one of the best heroes to ever pass through planet Earth.

He went back to signing his paper as if he wasn't surprised by that news. "Oh well, humans… Never give power to a man. I always say that don't I? Never give power to a man." He said in a calm and gentle tone. A man who has seen all kinds of human beings had facts to back up his statements.

I am now lying in my bed. I returned to the dormitory after eating because walking around the academy would only attract unwanted attention. I sigh; the king's game lasts two years but will end earlier because of Elisa Black. In the original story, she wanted to become the queen of the game, but to do so, she needed to defeat Michael, but since she was weak, she ordered 994 students to kill him. The academy is divided by sectors: The first year has an exclusive space in the academy for them, but they do not have permission to go to other sectors. The first year sector will turn into a war where Michael will be against everyone. In the chapter where the arc's climax begins, Michael needs to reach Elisa and defeat her.

He had the help of other main characters, so they managed to get past the army of 996 students who were trying to kill them. In the end, they finally managed to get there, but before they could do anything, the academy intervened and prevented further destruction.

The king's game had already fulfilled its purpose, which was to reveal the academy's trash. After that, Elisa was expelled and Michael gained even more notoriety within the institution. I sigh. I'm only going to leave my room to eat so I can peacefully pass the king's game until then. Or so I thought…

Suddenly, I heard the doorknob of my door turning. This was impossible to happen, after all, to enter you need the card with your ID, which only the room owner has. I thought I was going crazy, but for safety, I got up quietly and walked to the door.

My room had five rooms, including the bathroom, my room, the living room, the kitchen, and the dining room. The room was extremely spacious and the entrance door was in the living room. Walking calmly, I noticed the doorknob of my door shaking and turning slowly. At this moment, I knew that someone was trying to break into my room, but it was too late to set a trap.

Suddenly, the door began to open. My blood boiled and adrenaline took over me. Without hesitation, I used my "Elemental Mastery" ability and formed a fire punch, launching it towards the door.

At the same time, the door was fully opened, revealing five students trying to break into my room, but soon this number changed to four. My fire blow flew like a bullet fired from a rifle and hit the student who was in front of everyone. After being hit, the impact of the blow pushed him violently into the wall, causing him to collide and faint on the ground.

At the same time, without caring about the injured companion, the other four students advanced on me. One of them had the ability of magnetism and took out five metal needles, launching them at me. In response to the attack, I raised a stone wall and threw it over them, covering their view. The needles hit the stone, but another student, who seemed to have the ability of super strength, punched the stone violently, breaking it completely. After the rock released their view, other attacks were launched.

This time, it was again fire blows that were launched against them. The student who had magnetism could not react in time and was hit. Three other students also could not react and were pushed violently. They all fainted on the ground, leaving only the boy with super strength to be defeated.

I exchanged glances with him for a few moments, but he quickly advanced towards me. His speed was much slower than Kato's, but as he had hesitated to react in time, he reached me and punched me, which I used my arms to defend myself. The blow hit me and I was pushed to the TV, which I broke.

The blow was very strong, leaving me dizzy. I tried to get up, but soon after he appeared and kicked me in the face. Blood flew from my mouth and I collapsed on the ground, but I still managed to maintain consciousness.

The student tried to attack me again by stepping on my head, but I managed to react in time and rolled to the side. His foot marked the ground, creating a small crater. Seeing that I had dodged, he tried to step on my head again, but I rolled again, avoiding him. Where he stepped, the ground was marked with his foot, showing that his strength was overwhelming.

Taking advantage of this moment to recover, I used the wind element in my body and propelled myself to stand up instantly. The student was surprised but advanced toward me again, after all, hand-to-hand combat was his specialty.

I noticed the tank advancing towards me and used the wind and water elements to create a tornado and launch it against it. The wind generated along with the tornado hit it violently, pushing it backwards and causing it to crash into the wall, destroying it. Without giving it time to recover, I concentrated my mana and used the fire element skill in conjunction with the air element, creating a fire arrow and using my arm as a bow to shoot it towards the student.

...

Mia walked down a hallway while thinking, "That bitch, who does she think she is to give me orders? I am a Miyamoto, I am the one who commands!" She was burning with rage inside, after all, as a Miyamoto, she had not stood by her brother in the rankings. She was the 12th best student in the entire first year, which left her frustrated for not being able to surpass Kato.

"But at least I'm better than that bastard Edward Lothbrok, that..." Before she could finish her sentence, there was an explosion beside her. The wall was broken by the explosion, and the student who was fighting Edward was pushed violently and passed out on the floor.

Mia was shocked to see that scene and went on alert for possible fights. Suddenly, she heard a voice coming from inside the place where the student had been thrown: "Finally over...". The voice sounded calm but tired. It was as if the person who had spoken had run a full marathon.

Mia looked inside the wall and noticed Edward drinking water in the kitchen. At first, she was surprised that he was inside, but was even more surprised to see that he was the one who had caused all this destruction.

"Lothbrok?" she asked, catching my attention. We exchanged glances for a few seconds, and I said, "Miyamoto, what do you want?" My voice was cold, like someone who was ready to go for another round at any moment.

"What happened? Why were you guys fighting?" she asked curiously. "He and five others tried to defeat me. The reason? I have no idea, but it doesn't matter." I replied as I leaned against the wall and stared deeply into her eyes. Mia Miyamoto's appearance was exceptional, with her cold features matching her white hair and blue eyes. Mia was undoubtedly a girl who could make any unwary man fall in love.

"Hm, you don't seem to have the power of someone weak... Anyway, do you need help with something?" she asked me, seemingly interested, but I knew it would only bring me a headache.

Mia Miyamoto, the girl Elisa would want to punish in the worst possible way. In the original story, after being the victim of Elisa's atrocities, she left the academy and was never seen in the work again. Honestly, it's a bit of a pity. I, who have the mentality of an adult, know that psychological wounds are often more cruel than physical wounds. It's something no human being should experience, except those who really deserve it. But Mia is young, only 16, so this is not something a girl should go through.

Sighing and giving in, I answered her question: "Yes, please help me tidy up my room." As soon as I finished speaking, the chandelier hanging from the ceiling fell to the ground, due to the wind from my tornado. The sound of the glass crashing against the floor echoed, and she and I exchanged glances.

"Don't you think it's better to look for another place to sleep?" She asked, after seeing the deplorable state of the room. "And do you know where I can find another place to sleep?" I asked, curious and at the same time knowing that there was no answer to my question. But strangely, Mia smiled and said, "You can stay in my room until the king's game is over, how about that?"

I heard her words and considered, "What's going on? Mia is someone extremely proud and thinks everyone is inferior to her. So why is she acting so friendly?" Even with doubts, I replied, "Okay, sleeping with a girl I just met for two months shouldn't be so bad."

She chuckled at my sarcastic tone and responded in kind, "Yes, what could happen between a boy and a girl sleeping together for two months, right?" She laughed lightly at the end, but it was extremely scary in my view.

I sigh. I thought I could spend the king's game peacefully, but it seems I was wrong...
