I wake up on the ground. Though I guess I won the blanket. Silly Blob.
''Sign-in location, Anita's Antiques.'
Well then, how efficient. I smiled getting up to start my day. I'm a little excited.
I make a simple meal, and eat while prepping my lunch. Today is the first day of the month of spring.
It already been getting warmer. That means a lot of Spring cleaning, Spring sale, Spring reorganizing, Spring specialty items. It makes everyone excited.
I hear the neighbor to my right getting ready as well. Sounds a bit rushed today. As I packed my lunch up I heard them slam their door and scuffle off in heels.
At least I don't have to talk to them.
"Remind me to go to the store tomorrow. Gotta get the stuff for your weekly meal bud." I tell Blobbles who is running between my feet. Like a little bastard.
I put on my shoes and cloak. I guess it'll be better to have. "Open inventory please."
The inventory opens. Three things sit in it. Ten branches, one average knife, one bracelet that I got yesterday. It's a plain chain bracelet that looks cheap. One single wooden charm of a two tailed fox hangs from it.
It increases luck by one point. One can never have to much luck. Plus it's super cute.
It's the first item that increases my stats. I feel I should just wear it to be safe.
I say goodbye to my pet and leave for work. I wave and great people normally. The excitement of Spring has infected everyone.
In a couple of days even, everyone could do without the capes. A couple businesses had signs set up for Spring sales. Telling people when to come.
Before long I see the now familiar blue screen on the door of the shop.
I sign in as I enter, covering my voice with the bell. A couple of people are inside. I leave them be and head straight for the back. Waving at Anita who with a customer.
'Sign in confirmation. Chi Chi recognized. Items below average to average. Health normal. Please select the reward for your first Quest:

Stats'
I hang up my cloak and put on my work apron and gloves. "Item please." I say.
'Confirmed. Quest selection Item.
Clean three antiques.
0/3'
Oh, at least it lines up with my actual job. In the back room there are two rooms and a hallway. This room is a locker and office type of deal. The other is for preservation and cleaning of the antiques.
It's a part of my job. I head over the the cleaning room putting on protective equipment.
Som antiques don't leave this room until they are sold. We may not be the highest end of antiques in the city, but we sure do our job right.
Surprisingly there where only three items on the workbench. Wooden toys, each about a hundred years old. Anita left a note on what to do.
Looks like they just need a bit of dusting before they are picked up tomorrow. They are unpainted making them double the price. Wonder who bought them.
I picked up a brush gently brushing at the accumulated dust. It takes time as each toy is decently sized dolls. A knight, a horse, and a princess. How plain and boring.
'Quest complete. Item placed in inventory.'
Well how easy was that. "Inventory."
It opens with a new third item. I click ont the item, something I learned yesterday.
'Left and Right leather bracers. Lightweight and easy to conceal. Each one offers one defence.'
Oh, Now that I think about it my defence is worse than my charm. This is a really good item for me.
I close the inventory though. The bracelet is one thing. The bracers are something that I need another shirt for. At least if I want to conceal them.
'Would you like to complete another quest today?'
"Stats please." I say as I carefully package the toys. Each in its own box. Wrapped in special paper.
'Confirmed. Quest selection Stats.
Sweep the store.
0%'
Okay then. I leave the boxes and exit the room. I took a broom and dustpan, and headed towards the main part of the store.
"Ahh you der, du yah work er." Surprised by the voice and accent I glance at the person. It was a green scaled lizard man. With tow horns and a tail.
I turn to him. "Yes sir."
Lizard people are not hard to please. As you don't go looking for trouble you'll be fine. At least theoretically.
"How yah get dis dahm thing working. What yeh even use it fer." He held out the item in his hand.
I set the broom against the door and rush over. "Oh this is 150 year old music box. It's dwarven You pull this latch here, turn the key and open it." I showed it to him.
After I opened it a dwarf ballerina ticked in a circle. With the sound of an odd but charming tune.
"It doesn't have any magical effects but it enchanting in it own way." I gave it back to the man. Who seemed rather pleased.
Everyone know that Dwarven technology is built to last. Nothing they make is low quality. The rather destroy a defective product then ever let it see the light of day.
I left him to continue looking around on his own. I took the broom again. Than began my quest.
As I swept I organized around the store. It is my job after all.
I weaved around customers going back once they left. Cleaning up after them. Better to let them disorganize everything and go back. Frustrating, but customer service as I right. They rarely, if ever, care about you.
"Hey, how much is this." A loud voice asked. I turned startled.
A young lady was holding a book and was leaning very close. Almost threateningly.
"I um, the price will be on the shelf." I say wanting her out of my face.
She rolls her eyes scoffing. "No it isn't I looked. Useless old man." She mumbled that last part under her breath, crossing her arms.
I look at the book. Maps every village in Bantu Empire. I walk over to the shelf. On the side, sure enough was the price. I pointed at it.
"It's right there." I say. I give her plenty of room to see. Though she still invaded my space.
"Well who would ever look there. What, this price it outrageous? It's just some old maps." She said waving around the book.
I grabbed the book from her. "It is a 300 year old book of maps of a fallen empire. 7 preservation spells have been used to maintain it over the years. There are only ten books left." I place it back on the shelf safely.
The young miss was fuming at my action, turning red. "How dare you! Well I will take my business elsewhere! Heathen!" The stormed out. Stomping about.
Anita gave me a look at I shrugged. For a moment all the attention was on me. Though only for a moment.
Whispers rang threw the store. I shook it off and continued sweeping/cleaning up after the customers.
Before noon I finished sweeping.
'Quest complete. Reward one stat point.'
I'll save this one. I'm still adjusting to the new stats.
I headed to the back to but the broom away. Things are really faster and easier with these new stats. Though I can't show it off.
I still want my simple life. If I change, things will change.
'Would you like to complete another quest today?'
I put the broom and dustpan away. "Yes skills."
'Confirmed. Quest selection Skill.
Complete a day at work.'
Hmm, I guess it really is just letting me work today. That's a lot less stress inducing.
I enter the main store ready to work the day away.
