I don't go to my place. I have more than enough items in my inventory. A week into this I placed a bunch of stuff in there just in case.
I activate stealth and rush back.
As I rush back I pull out a bag and stuff a bunch of things from my inventory out of it. I'm not ready to explain the inventory. Especially not now.
I stuffed it with light things so that it wouldn't slow me down. Though enough to make it look full.
I run ignoring my burning lungs and muscles. As I arrive I also pull out the papers. Grandma will want to read it.
I deactivated stealth and ran out of the shadows into the house.
"Grandma we gotta go! Pack a bag I'll help!" I yell into the house. I run up to stairs to her room not waiting for a response.
I ran threw the dark house running into the dark room. I turn on the light. Pull open her closet pulling the suitcase from the top shelf.
I threw it on the bed opening it. "Grandma we gotta go let's hurry!" I threw random items in the suitcase. I don't have time right now to be concerned with privacy.
"Young man what are you doing?!" I hear yelling from the hallway.
I didn't slow down for a second. "Anita got into some trouble. I don't know what. She left a note. She wants us out of danger. We are going to the Temple of Light in the city Alias."
I grab her toiletries as well throwing it in. As she entered the room I handed her the first page in the note.
She read it, confused. Her face went pale as she looked at me.
I pushed the final things into the suitcase. "I don't know what's going on. Though you and I are going. Get ready, we leave now."
The suitcase clicked shut and I carried it to the front entrance. My Grandmother started moving, dressing in winter clothes.
I rushed to the kitchen prepping another bag of food. Pushing some stuff into my inventory. It's a three days journey on foot. Of course that takes in account my grandma.
She is not fast, but I won't spend money on a mount if I can help it. My Beast Taming is higher but I don't know how to ride any mount.
Plus if Grandma falls she could get a serious injury. So we walk.
Once I got the bag of food ready I head to the front entrance as well.
Grandma was just finishing tying up her boots. "So do you know what this is about? Or are you in as much of the dark as me?"
I grabbed the suitcase ready to go. "I have some ideas. Though nothing concrete. Though I trust Anita knows what to do. The note is to long for her not to."
Grandma gave me a good look over. It's the truth. I really don't know what this is all about. Anita really would leave such a long not for something she didn't think threw, or overthink.
Grandma sighed standing up and heading out the door. "So we just run away in the middle of the night. There is a monthly trivia game me and the lady's are supposed to play tomorrow. Prizes and everything." She grumbled locking the door and going to the gate.
It's still quite cold out at night. Though if we were more North we would have had to wait till morning.
"Well, we can do that on the way. It's a three day walk. Plus you always wanted to take me to the Temple of Light in Alias. It's better, right?" I say trying to make the best of this very crummy situation.
Grandma chuckled opening the gate for me. "Yes, It is beyond the one that we have here."
I'm worried about Anita. Honestly if it wasn't for Grandma I'd be looking for her. Though I also know I would be no help. So does Grandma.
She was once a city guard. A tier one mage with a skill in swordsmanship. Though in her old age her hands don't work like they used to.
The only people she can beat in a fight are people like me. Ones with not enough mana to reach their one mage, plus no skills with combat. Not for lack of trying of course.
Me and Grandma walked into the night and out of the city. We kept to the shadows.
I for one was very happy I invested that point in strength. Also happy for the inventory. The things I need are heavier than what I have in my bag. Most of the weight would have been the money.
I'm also worried about Blobbles. Though I just fed him and Blobbles only need to be fed once a week. They will be fine for the most part.
Anita will come to us within a week. If I assume her disappearance day is when I got kicked out of the store. It's only 5 or 4 days.
So I'll be back in 8 or 9 days. Faster if I travel on my own or spend money on a mount. They will be very angry at me. I will not be sleeping on the bed for a bit.
Me and Grandma were quiet till we got to the city gates. Not many people pass threw at this time. Though if you got you ID and fare you're good. Different if you're a merchant.
We passed threw without issue. Breathing in a sigh of relief. We'll travel till the next nightfall and than get a room at an inn.
I don't know who might be after us but this is the safest bet. I think. I hope.
I will get us to the Temple of Light Safely.
