'Organization has leveled up.'
Oh nice, right when I . Today I was sorting the temple library. Also occasionally reading for the illiterate.
We've been here 4 days now. Anita should show up today at the latest.
"Hey mister." I looked down at small child pulling at my robe. Holding an open book with his other hand.
I kneel down to the child. "What can I do for you?" I smile. I'm actually rather fond of children. They don't always like me though.
He pointed at the book. "Um, what does this word mean?"
I squinted at the book reading upside down. "Obliterate. Essentially it means to destroy completely."
The child squinted at the word. "Obliterate. Okay thank you mister." The child said running off.
Only now am I thinking, what in the world sort of book is that child reading. Eh should be fine. I mean this is the Temple of Light after all. It's not like it's the Temple of Love.
I shake my head continuing to organize the library.
I've actually grown a bit fond of this place. It's busy but peaceful. Though I'm very much ready to go home now.
I've managed to sign it in the 3 days we traveled and the 4 that we have been here. I've saved up the item and skill. Though after I'm done with my shift in the library I'm gonna redeem them. 'Status Window.' I say in my head.

I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked leveling my skills. Though everything takes more with each level anyway.
The passive skills actually take longer to level up than the active skills. Though some of the active skills need a specific situation to activate making them harder to level up.
Like Barter. I need to have a deal going on to use it. So leveling it is really gonna take time.
Which is what have a lot of.
The priest in charged approached me. "Mister Grandson. You are free to leave for the day. Thank you for your help today."
Everyone calls me Grandson or Mister Grandson. We can't use our real names right now.
'Quest complete. Would you like to redeem or continue to save?'
I gave a slight bow to the priest. "Thank you." I turned and left. Passing threw the blue sign in screen at the door.
'Leaving sign in location.'
I headed downstairs to the bottom floor. The bottom floor is a storage room. It's cold, dark, and used for storage.
I have permission to be down here. Everyone does. Though not many people hangout down here. I would go to the garden, but it is never empty.
With a stroke of lunch it was empty. I pulled out a mana stone to light my way and walked deep into the bottom floor. I entered a room with covered up furniture.
I sat on what I assume is a table. It's very rectangle. I set the mana stone in front of me. Okay let's do this.
'Redeem. Item and Skill.' I said in my mind.
'Confirmed. Item has been placed in inventory.'
'Confirmed. Skill Shadow Puppet has been acquired. Skill is set at level one.'
Shadow puppet? It that like dark magic.
'Shadow Puppet
Infuse mana into a shadow allowing it to take form. At this level you shadows can only be used as scouts. With you current mana level even the smallest shadow will only last ten minutes or less.'
Holy shit this skill is amazing. My mana level though. I guess I didn't consider that my stats could affect my skill. Even though it is kinda obvious now.
I wonder if I increase my stats it could increase the speed of leveling.
Before I tried out my new skill I opened my inventory. Selecting the foreign icon.
'Mask of the faceless.
This white mask will ensure to protect the identity of it's bound master when worn. Only the bound master may put it on or take it off. This mask will take on a face of the faceless when worn.'
Okay, I'm gonna need a mirror to try this thing out. Though I think it's good?
Honestly the description is just a bit to weird. I pulled it out.
It's all white with a cold porcelain feel. Almost like glass. It's a mask with no holes. No stap to hold it to the face. Super weird.
Out of curiosity I took off my cloth mask and put it on. As soon as it touched my face it changed. It didn't feel cold or uncomfortable. I could see and breath easily.
It still felt the same to my hand holding it. Though it felt differently to my face. I took it off and put it in the inventory. A little weirded out I put on my cloth mask.
Okay back to shadow magic. I moved the mana stone to the left, to make a shadow to my right. I placed my right hand on it and activated the skill.
I felt my mana leaving my body and attaching to the shadow. I thought of a simple mouse as the form. The shadow shook but the form did not take place.
I pulled a lot of mana but the form would just not take place. I knew the reason. I halted the skill.
I opened the system window and did something I had been afraid to do. I put a stat into mana.
Immediately I felt the change. It wasn't painful but after just one point I had to stop. I felt warm and cound feel the new level of mana pulsing.
What is happening right now is very dangerous. Though after a bit the mana settled becoming mine.
After a bit of hesitation I put in another point. Slowly but surely the same thing happened.
Once it settled I stopped. I've doubled my mana in mere moments. If I add another before it really settled, I and other people could get hurt.
I breathed deeply centering myself again and cast Shadow Puppet again. This time a little mouse of of shadow appeared.
'Shadow Puppet has leveled up.'
I could feel the connection with them. I could sense what they could sense. This is beyond useful. I had them climb onto my hand.
I was only a little surprised that my shadow mouse weighed nothing. I pulled them closer to me.
Though as soon as they exited the shadow they disappeared. I realized that a shadow must stay in shadow.
That is the downside.
I chuckled realizing something. Here in the Temple of Light I am casting shadow magic. I hope this isn't blasphemy. I cast the skill again this time making the mouse move around the room.
I discovered that the mouse did not have to take the normal route. Though it moved like a mouse along the ground. It is weightless so it did not fall or slow down even when walking on the ceiling.
If it wasn't mine I might have thought it creepy. Though I only though it cool.
During my experiments with my new skill it leveled up twice. I tried summoning another mouse and failed. I ended my experiments with that feeling the end of my mana being reached.
With that I headed up to my room. Maybe Anita is here already.
I went to the floor for the people like us. Not many people are here though all of us keep to ourselves. We don't share our names or any personal information.
Not because the church forces us to, just our situation.
When I got back Grandma was not there. She's probably off doing her daily work.
I took of the cloth mask and put my hood down. Relieved at the feeling of not wearing a mask.
I went up to the top bunk and laid down waiting. I kept the long note from Anita in my inventory. I refused to read it until she either didn't arrive today or was here to explain everything herself.
Which is today. If it's not today than I'm going to go and find her. I'm sure she's fine and just caught up in whatever is happening.
I know deep down that if she decided to send us away it was because it was a lot of danger. I know that she might have sent us away for a lot of really not great reasons. Though I promised to trust her. So I gotta do that.
