Galan was outside sitting on the beach when Olvia came out in fresh clothes, having just showered. She stood behind him, saying softly "Sorry." Galan didn't answer and she added, "I was just curious, I didn't mean t-" he cut her off, saying "I don't know how many times I have to tell you. We're not friends. Your apology means nothing to me."
Olvia smiled slightly, replying "I know. Just thought I should, that's all." Galan didn't answer her and she walked over, sitting in her chair for a few moments before crossing her legs on it, holding a book in her lap with one hand as the other slowly moved a chess piece on the table.
Olvia started reading as Galan sat there, staring at the sea for a long while.
Around an hour passed until he moved a chess piece in response. Olvia turned to him and smiled happily, continuing to play.
The next morning
Galan was sitting in the Fleet Admiral office, having just finished moving all his things from his office to this new one. He looked at all the paperwork and sighed before starting to work.
Everything was out of sorts, files all over the place, budgets short, recruitment numbers lowering every year…
It was a mess.
The Marines weren't what they used to be…
He spent hours just going through everything and sorting things out. He even called Sengoku in to help him. They both had to deal with the headache that was left behind by Kong.
They didn't get anywhere near halfway even late in the night.
Galan called it a night and told Sengoku to go home, asking about the kid at the same time, and getting a surprising response.
Apparently, Rosinante was the big time shitstain, Doflamingo's, brother. Sengoku was currently organizing a sting operation for Rosinante who asked if it would be alright. Galan thought it was a good idea and asked him to keep tabs.
After Sengoku left, Galan started making some calls.
He called the Amazonians first, "Viper team due for intensive training, report to Yeard Island at dawn." a female voice replied "Understood." he nodded and added, "Before you go, load the cargo at the safehouse on Marineford. My associate will secure the handoff." the same voice replied "Mhm!" before hanging up.
Galan called another person, saying "Chief Vulture, how are the Buzzards?" a gruff voice laughed, "All good, boss! Though, bored as fuck! The faggots 'round these parts are too weak! Hyahyahyahyah!" Galan snorted gently and replied "Trade off your post to Buzzard 6, I need you to perform a State 5 regimen on a team."
Vulture got excited, asking "Were active again?!" Galan shook his head, replying "Not quite, however it won't be long. Team's all women. Don't get too excited." Vulture froze up, saying in a daze "Boss, shoot me. I think I'm dreamin'!" Galan ignored him, saying "Yeards Island, due for dawn sharp. Get it done." Vulture cheered "Yes, sir!"
Galan hung up on him and muttered "Should only be a few more calls…" before picking up the phone again…
A while later
Galan returned home and let out a breath before changing into snorts, going to the Seastone block. Olvia was training on the steel pole before noticing Galan walking over to the block.
She smiled slightly and continued as Galan started punching hard, the familiar dull bangs sounding in the training grounds.
It didn't stop even for hours after she was done.
When it did stop, she was sitting on the couch in the house, reading with him in view. From the window.
Galan looked at her through the window and she looked up, smiling gently. He blinked slowly before ignoring her as he walked into the house, cracking his neck. He came to the couch and grabbed Olvia by her shirt, tossing her to the ground before laying on the couch and going to sleep.
She got up and pouted before mumbling "Jerk." as she walked up to the bedroom, going to bed as well.
The paperwork and necessary fixes to all the problems the Marines were currently having couldn't be fixed in a single day. Hell, it wasn't even possible to read all the documents in one day!
Slowly, Galan spent the entire rest of the year going through documents and implementing small fixes, changing a few things and implementing new training regimens for Marines.
Luckily for him, he met his deadline. He was all caught up by the end of the year. He had gone over all the documents that were left over and implemented solutions to the problems.
However, now was the unfortunate task of going through decades of documents and studying them thoroughly for anything he could use. Since Sengoku wasn't doing anything, he brought him to help.
Galan even called in Tsuru to help him. He didn't feel awkward about it at all. This was her job as a Marine. Zephyr and Garp would've been called too but Zephyr was busy training new and old recruits alike, while Garp… Garp wouldn't really be helping at all.
Maybe helping Sengoku die early, as Sengoku would say.
Nevertheless, Galan got used to the constant work of Fleet Admiral, having enough energy to fight with Olvia when he got home after work every night.
And so, with all these things to do, the time flew by!
A year and a half had passed since Galan became Fleet Admiral!
