The Next Day
Damian could be seen sleeping soundly, his body still wrapped in the warmth of his bed. The sun had already risen, casting a golden glow over the room, while the chirping of birds filled the air. Suddenly, a small figure appeared by his side, gently shaking him. "Big brother, wake up," the sweet voice of his little sister, Thalia, whispered.
"Hmmm, just a few more minutes," Damian mumbled, still drowsy.
"Mom is calling for breakfast," Thalia reminded him, her voice full of eagerness.
"Okay, okay. Tell Mom I'll be there in a minute," Damian replied, his hand brushing through Thalia's hair before she left the room.
Damian sat up in his bed, blinking sleepily as he tried to focus his vision. However, as soon as he put his feet on the ground, he realized that the egg that was beside him was nowhere to be found. With a furrowed brow, he searched the entire room in a frenzy, his heart racing with worry. Finally, after a few moments of panic, he spotted the egg lying at the foot of his bed.
"How did it get down there?" he mused to himself, scratching his head in confusion. But he didn't dwell on the thought for too long, as he had other things on his mind.
He quickly got dressed, and then climbed out of his window to freshen up outside. After a few minutes, he climbed back inside and went to the kitchen where his mother was cooking breakfast.
As the family gathered around the breakfast table, Damian's mind was elsewhere. He couldn't help but think about his burning desire to learn more about magic, to explore beyond the limits of their small island.
"Mom, I want to leave the island and learn more about magic," Damian blurted out suddenly, causing a silence to fall over the table.
Elara's face went pale as she heard her son's words. She remembered the day ,when Damian told her he has awakened his powers, and she had been overjoyed. But the thought of her son leaving her was too much to bear.
"What are you talking about, Damian? You can't just leave us," Elara said, her voice trembling with emotion.
"But Mom, I really want to go. I want to learn more," Damian replied, his tone pleading.
Elara's anger flared up. "No means no, Damian. You're not going anywhere."
Damian's frustration boiled over, and he slammed his fork down on the table before storming out of the house.
As he walked outside, he couldn't help but feel trapped. He knew he had to find a way to convince his mother that leaving was the only way he could truly discover his potential.
As he was walking Damian muttered to himself in a hushed tone, "Shh, I have to figure out how to convince Mom about it." He didn't want to give up on his dream so easily.
As he walked towards the river, lost in his thoughts, he suddenly heard someone calling his name. "Damian, wait!" It was Kaelen, who had caught up to him. Damian turned around to face him, and Kaelen could see the disappointment on his friend's face.
"What's with the sad face?" Kaelen asked, trying to cheer him up.
"Mom declined the idea of me leaving the Island," Damian said with a tinge of sadness in his voice.
Kaelen's response was not surprising. "That was expected," he said with a shrug, trying to console his friend.
The words felt like a cold bucket of water to Damian, and he couldn't help but feel dejected
As they settled down on the lush green grass by the river, Damian sighed heavily. "Do you have any idea how I can convince her?" he asked Kaelen with a sense of desperation
"Wait a minute, Kaelen. You also said you want to leave this island, right? So how do you plan to convince your mother?" Damian asked, remembering their previous conversation 7 years ago ,where Kaelen had agreed to accompany him in his journey.
"I don't have a mother as doting as yours. My mother will be more open to the idea," Kaelen replied with a hint of pride in his voice.
BACK IN DAMIAN HOUSE..
Elara stared down at her breakfast, her mind filled with worries and sadness. "You know that he has grown up, it's his life and he wants to enjoy it," Theron said, breaking the heavy silence.
"But he can live here and do whatever he wants. What's the need of leaving the Island?" Elara responded to Theron's comment, her voice laced with concern.
"Maybe he wants to see girls from outside this island," Theron muttered under his breath, his tone barely audible.
Elara raised an eyebrow in confusion, "Did you say something?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.
Theron cleared his throat, trying to sound serious. "I think we should respect Damian's decision, Elara. He's not a little kid anymore, you know," he said, with a hint of authority in his voice.
Elara raised an eyebrow, "And who made you the spokesperson for my son now?" she asked, slightly amused.
Theron shrugged, "I'm just saying, if he wants to leave and explore the world, we should support him."
"Maybe you're right," Elara conceded with a sigh. "But I don't want him getting into any trouble out there."
Theron grinned, "Oh come on, Elara. He's a smart kid. And who knows, maybe he'll find a nice girl out there and settle down."
Elara rolled her eyes, "Oh please, not that again."
Theron laughed, "Hey, I'm just looking out for his happiness."
The scorching sun was gradually sinking into the horizon, signaling the end of the day. Damian was making his way back home after parting ways with Kaelen. His mind was in turmoil, trying to figure out how to persuade his mother. He finally reached the entrance of his house and stopped for a moment to gather his thoughts.
"Come on, Damian, don't be a chicken," he muttered to himself before mustering up the courage to enter the house. As he stepped in, the cool breeze inside provided some comfort, but his nervousness still lingered.
As he walked into the house, Damian was taken aback by his mother's warm demeanor. She greeted him with a smile and even told him to freshen up before dinner. This was quite unusual for Elara, who had been stern and disapproving earlier. Damian was left feeling confused as he made his way to his room.
"What's going on?" Damian thought to himself, trying to make sense of his mother's sudden change in behavior.
Damian entered his room , as he was confused as his mother doesn't seemed angry , As he walked up to his bed and sat down, he looked around his room and saw the egg on his bed. He was surprised and confused, as he had left the egg under the bed in the morning. But what puzzled him even more was the orange crystal lying next to the egg. He didn't remember putting them together before he left the house.
As Damian sat there watching the egg and the crystal, his mind raced with confusion. "Maybe Thalia put it here," he thought out loud. With that, he got up and decided to go outside his room to freshen up.
The night was tranquil with the full moon casting its silver glow over the island. Damian sat with his family for dinner, but he seemed flustered and lost in his own thoughts. "Should I ask mom again?" he pondered in his mind.
Just then, Elara's voice cut through the silence, "You can leave the island if you want to, but only if you follow something that I will tell you." Damian's mouth dropped open in surprise as he struggled to believe what he had just heard.
"Are you sure?" Damian asked with a mouthful of rice, still trying to wrap his head around the unexpected turn of events.
"What do you mean, 'sure'? Don't you want to go?" Elara questioned, slightly taken aback by Damian's shocked expression.
"Hiccup, noo, I wanna go," Damian blurted out, relieved and excited all at once
After finishing the food , With a heart full of excitement, Damian hurriedly made his way back to his room.
He was surprised and relieved that his mother agreed to let him leave the island, considering how nervous he was to ask her in the first place. The rules she had set were pretty simple, he only had to take care of himself and come back home whenever he wanted to, and send a letter every one or two months to let them know he was doing well.
The full moon illuminated Damian's room, casting an eerie glow over everything inside. Damian lay on his bed, his eyes wide open, too excited to fall asleep.
Suddenly, his gaze fell on the egg and the crystal on his bedside table. He picked up the crystal and held it up to the moonlight, marveling at its beautiful orange hue.
Unable to contain his excitement any longer, Damian got up from his bed and walked over to the window, gazing out at the night sky with a sense of wonder and anticipation.
As Damian turned the crystal in his hand, he couldn't help but notice the way it glimmered in the moonlight, almost as if it held some kind of magical energy.
Damian stared intently at the orange crystal, captivated by its beauty. As he held it in his hands, he couldn't help but wonder what powers it might hold.
"This crystal is remarkable," he thought to himself, "it looks like the ones Aria showed me, only bigger."
As he gazed at the crystal, he felt a sudden urge to try something. "What if I try passing mana through it?" he pondered, as he raised the crystal up to the window, pointing it straight ahead.
But just as he was about to pass mana through the crystal, he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, giving him goosebumps all over his body. "Maybe I shouldn't experiment with this at home," he thought to himself, before jumping out of the window and sprinting towards the nearby river.
As he stood on the lush green field by the riverbank, the moonlight reflected off the water and illuminated his face, making him feel alive and free.
Damian took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and began to channel his mana through the crystal. The energy flowed through him, and he felt a surge of power coursing through his veins. The crystal glowed brighter and brighter, emitting an intense orange light that illuminated the entire area around him.
Without hesitation, Damian channeled his mana into the crystal, focusing his mind on the open field ahead. Suddenly, a burst of flame erupted from the crystal, hurtling forward with incredible force.
With a gasp, Damian stumbled backwards and watched in horror as the fire he unleashed decimated the field before him. The grass was reduced to ash, leaving behind a barren path that stretched out for at least 50 meters. Smoke rose from the crater, adding to the eerie scene.
Damian's heart was pounding in his chest as he realized the sheer power of the crystal in his hand. He knew that he had to be more careful with it in the future, or else he could cause even more destruction.
As he stared at the path of destruction before him, he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe mixed with fear. The power he had just unleashed was beyond anything he had ever experienced before.
"Shit!!" Damian exclaimed "Thank goodness I didn't use it in my room!" He immediately stopped supplying mana to the crystal and let out a sigh of relief.
As he surveyed the damage with smoke rising from the charred grass, he suddenly remembered the fire magic he had just unleashed. "Wait a minute...did I just use fire magic? That means I have dual elements!" Excitement coursed through him as he jumped up and down, momentarily forgetting the destruction he had caused.
As Damian started walking back home, his heart was brimming with excitement and joy. He felt like it was the best day of his life, and he couldn't contain his happiness. With each step, he felt a surge of energy coursing through his body, and he couldn't resist jumping and skipping around like a child. The full moon illuminated his path, and he felt like nothing could bring him down from this euphoric high.
***IN SOME UNKNOWN DIMENSION
("Wait a minute, this Damian kid didn't even remember me this time? What kind of ungrateful bastard is he?" Truck Kun muttered to himself, feeling a bit offended. "I mean, last time he was bawling his eyes out for not having any power, and now he's jumping around like a grasshopper without even a thank you to me? Kids these days, I tell ya."
truck Kun couldn't help but feel a bit hurt by Damian's lack of recognition, but he decided to brush it off and focus on helping him become a powerful mage. "Well, I guess it's my job to guide him regardless of his forgetfulness. After all, I am the mighty Truck Kun, the all-knowing and all-powerful spirit of reincarnation! Ha ha ha!")
