MAINTAINING A COLD EXPRESSION AND my emotions out of this.
"Fine, Your Majesty," I mocked bitterly, letting my rationality take over for a bit. Moving my weight from one hip to another, I kept playing with the gun "You and mother weirdly have the same eye color. For a reason I still don't understand, we all have different iris colors, and you sat those guys strategically in front of who has matching eyes with who. Six males, one in front of each of my sisters and me."
My eyes landed on the hottie sitting across my sit for a second, and when I found his eyes still on me, I avoided it and looked back to my father. While my heart raced like a bitch.
"I can feel power coming from them, it's different from you and mother, and Miles though. As well as different from my sisters. The energy around each of them also flicker differently-"
"Energy around them?" Mom asked surprised.
I blinked, turning to her, "What? You can see it too, can't you? It's like a wave. I don't know. I always ignored it but you know that too, right?" I sense this since ever.
"She feels this we were kids. But we always thought it was like a spiritual thing or something in her head," Thea finally spoke after staying silent when I talked to her.
"That ain't normal. I don't have it. It's a power that allows one to sense others souls," mom got up startled and came to me but I put the gun between us, not wanting her touch. "The only person I know with that is my mom, your grandma," okay?
"Cool?" I'm not really interested in that right now. "Can I do something about it? Like fight with it or harm someone? I mean… to protect myself."
She gasped, "No, Andy. You can feel other people intentions though. See their souls. Their energies. Mom can even focus on it enough to tell what the person is feeling, but that required training."
"So, I won't have your telekinesis thing?"
"You probably will. It's in the family. And you can have more than one ability as a witch," that's good.
I chuckled, "Witch," I mocked more to myself than to them. "Sit down mother, let me continue the analysis your husband asked."
She glared at me, "Don't talk to your dad like that."
"Dad," I mocked purposely. "Where was I?"
"You were saying that our energies are different from one another, Ruby," he spoke and I felt my entire being reacting to his enchanting voice. Deep. Dark. Raspy.
"Ruby?" I couldn't help but to grin at that.
He grinned back, "Your eyes make you special!"
Oh my fucking Goddess, did the hottest male existent just said I'm special? Am I drunk? Was I drugged? Did I hear it right? I think I'm combusting.
"Hm," I bit my lip and used all of my strength to focus back on father, feeling my cheeks burn. Thinking before saying, because I felt like stuttering, "They feel different. Probably different races, since Miles said there's a bunch. And," I couldn't help but to look at him again, "their crowns. Six different crowns for six people of different races. Kings. Six Kings," it took me a bit to absorb what I just said and I'm sure my eyes widened a bit. "Shit. Are you all Kings?"
"We are," he exclaimed with a sexy grin.
I felt breathless again, "How many Kingdoms are there?"
"6 Kingdoms, 1 Queendom, 1 Empire," he answered me again and I felt addicted to his voice.
"My parents rule the Empire. Grandmother rules the Witch Queendom… that makes you all the remaining Kings," shit. "Oh, this makes this even more dangerous," I took a step back, feeling sick. "Six youthful looking Kings. Six Princesses," as the realization stroke me, I shot father a glared pointing the gun at him. "Arranged marriage. Is this what this shit is? Are you trying to marry us off? Is that why you brought us back?" I hissed.
Mom seemed to be panicking, "That's not it. Not necessarily, Andy. That's not how this works in here."
"Not necessarily? So you are trying to sold us off to those Kings? Are you insane? I won't fucking let that happen. None of my sisters are going to be sold off to those males that despite looking physically good, we know nothing off," I remembered what father said the day I shot him, and it made me feel sicker. "When you took us back, you said that it was better that we were virgins, so they wouldn't cause trouble. You said that some walking troubles were why you had to throw us in another world," I pointed my gun to the Kings, "I see that they were the walking troubles."
"Sister," Miles tried but I cut him off.
"I shouldn't have expected more from you, you are a demon after all. All the unknown races are always said to be monsters, I should have been paying more attention. I just didn't expect this shit from you, mother. Not at all. I'm disappointed. But I assure you, I won't let you marry any of us off like some cows to the slaughter. My sisters deserve to marry for love, and I won't let anything but that to happen!" And I made sure to point my gun at all the other five guys sitting across them. "And you better stop eating them with your eyes, or I'll shoot each of you in the head. I'll shoot you and I'll still have two spare bullets," then I turned to father, "I'll guard them for you, your majesty, don't worry."
Thea let out a sigh and got up, and the cute guy across her seemed worry by her actions. As if. "Andy, look at me," I turned around with my gun up. "You have to listen, okay?"
I scoffed, "Now you want to talk? When I asked you, you refused to tell me!"
"Put down the gun."
"No!" I said firmly.
She gulped, anxiously, "You are loosing your calm."
"What calm? Since when I was calm? I'm cold, Thea, there's a different. I'm never calm. I'll never be. Calm and Andromeda don't fit in the same sentence!" I snapped. "Speak. I'll listen to you. Don't try to take my gun, I feel better with it."
"We are fated, sister, not arranged. It's not our parents who choose it, it's the Gods. They decided fate, the Oracle speaks through it. We were born fated to be with them, just as they were born to be with us. A connection that goes deeper than the surface, a mating bond!"
As I stared at my sister, for the first time, I felt like we were speaking different languages. "I don't care. They are not my Gods. And how can you believe in Oracle, Thea? That's bullshit. What? Are you going to tell me that dragons exist?" I chuckled loudly in pure sarcasm.
"Uh, I am a dragon!" The cute white-haired male that was sited in front of Thea exclaimed. "So, yes. And the Oracle is very much real, sister-in-law!"
I'm sure I turned pale, "What did you just call me, Jack Frost?" Before I could control myself, the gun was already aimed at him. "Did you fucking called me sister-in-law? I ain't no one's sister-in-law, you Japanese from eBay," eBay of heaven. "You think I'll let you marry my sweet sister?" I chuckled wickedly, "You ain't touching one string of her hair."
To my dismay, Thea turned and put herself in front of the trigger, "Don't be reckless, Andy. Fucking hell. Put this down."
"Get out of the way!"
"No!" She snapped and I felt my nostrils flaring. "Thea, get off of my way. I'm not letting you be sold off to this… this… japanese Jack Frost. He's hot but I won't let it happen. Nor you, nor the others."
"You can't choose for us, Andy. And you aren't even listening to me. This isn't us being sold off. This isn't a dinner for that, damn it," she took a step closer and I took one back. "This is us meeting our mates."
"Mates?" I scoffed. "What are we? Animals. That ain't a thing, Thea. This ain't fantasy."
"Yes. It is a thing. Why do you think we have different eye colors, Andromeda?" Oh, she's annoyed, but so am I.
"How would I know if no one told me? I'm not an Oracle," I snapped bitterly.
Thea clenched her jaw, "Our eye colors are connected to our soul, to our mating bond. Mom and dad explained it to us. Mates reflect the same eye color, that's why mom and dad have identical eyes. That's why we were arranged to sit this way to night!"
What? Does that mean that-
My eyes turned to the hot guy again and he was still with his eyes on me, flicking with something that seemed like amusement and interest.
No way. Ain't not way. "I don't believe that." I looked back to her. "Are you saying we don't have a choice? That's bullshit. We can't simply accept this. They are strangers, Thea. Damn it. This makes no sense. How can you all be okay with this?" I looked at my other sisters and they all seemed uncomfortable, probably because they fucking lied to me.
"Calm down," his voice sounds behind me, and I got startled, taking one of my daggers in a reflex and pressing it on his throat as I turned around, his big hand falling on my waist. And fucking hell, he's huge. He's gigantic.
What is he? 7'8"? This is humiliation. "Don't touch me or I swear I'll cut you open."
To my dismay, he looked joyful with that, as he stared down at me, I noticed how identical his eyes really were to mine. And my soul felt like… like resonating with through it. "Do you promise, my ruby?"
I frowned even though a part of me absolutely loved and melted as he said that, and I felt my body getting hotter and hotter, my pussy getting wetter, and it made me want to press my thighs to each other, but I couldn't do this right here. "I'm not yours!"
"Oh, but you are," he grinned and his teeth seemed sharper than before, which spread goosebumps down my spine.
"Take your paws off me!"
"I don't have paws. Kylian has," what? "Even if I had, I wouldn't want to do that. I've been far from you for too long, my ruby!" Ugh, this male-
"Bitch? What the fuck are you talking about?" I felt breathless. "If you don't step back I swear I'll slice you in pieces."
"I'm looking forward to it," he grinned again, and a very dangerous grin. "I don't mind blood at all, my ruby. In fact, I like it very much," and when his canines elongated further, I knew what it was.
I knew what he was. "Fangs," I gasped. "Goddess above. You are a vampire. Fucking hell. Vampires exist!"
"Are you scared, my ruby?"
I should be. I know I should be. But I'm not. He's the real deal, and a part for me is thriving to make him eat me. And not in the literal way. "She'll really cut you open if you keep playing with her, Avdelay!"
Avdelay? Is that his name? Sounds Russian. "Ace," he corrected but as his gaze was still on me, I guess it was for me. "You can call me Ace."
Ace? "Are you really a vampire, Ace?"
He closed his eyes for a second and inhaled deeply, "I waited five centuries to hear you call my name," his grip tightened on my waist and I felt bizarrely comfortable. "Your voice is a song to my ears, my ruby."
"Five what?" I gasped, still holding my gun with one hand and the dagger on his throat with the other. "You are 500 years old?"
"We are. We were born in the same year!"
"I'm pretty sure I'm 21!" I scoffed.
"The time passes differently in the two worlds, my ruby," oh, I think father said something about that. "21 years there were about 505 years in here. You were supposed to be with me since we were 11 years old, but your parents were selfish and wanted your youth years all for themselves. You mother took you and the twins away from us, and that was the cruelest thing anyone could have done," his beautiful long fingers caressed my face, and I felt his touch burning my skin. "You should have been mine already," he whispered and his eyes were full of sadness.
And those pure emotions knocked me out. My hand fell from his throat, and I noticed a thin line of blood on there. I looked at my parents, "Is this true?"
They seemed relieved. Everyone seemed shamelessly relieved. As if Ace had just unharmed a nuclear bomb. Ridiculous. "Yes," they said together.
Mom pressed her lips together for a second, "When the Oracle visited us and told us we were going to have sextuplets daughters that would be mated to the six Heirs of the enemies Kingdoms, we freaked out. We didn't want them to take your childhood. I wanted to take care of you through out your first years, to teach your and educate you on my way."
"They aren't unworthy, sweetheart," father purred. "They are so worthy of you that they caused five wars on the last centuries because they wanted you back." As he said that, Ace tightened his grip on my waist. "Those troublemakers confronted me and your bother on the battlefield many times, trying to get me to get you back. All because only demons, witches and wizards have the ability to cross the veil right now."
I felt Ace's gaze burning my skin, but I tried not to look. "They went to war with you? Together against you?" A nod. "Did they make you bleed?"
"A bit. Not much."
A grin took over my lips, "Seems like I did something they couldn't." But my smile was undone as I stared at the males across my sisters. "Do you love them?"
"Yes!" Their voices came out in sync and firm.
"You," I pointed to the one in front of Kara, "that's my little sister that you are trying to marry, you know that? She's my precious."
He gulped, "I am aware, sister-in-law."
And Ace held my wrist before I could point my gun at him for what he just called me. "Full name and race!" I demanded through gritted teeth.
"Kylian Beaumanoir," French name? "You can say I'm a werewolf!" No way.
I gasped, "You are what?"
"A-a werewolf? That's what you call it in the human world isn't it?" Oh my Goddess. "I'm kind of a wolf, it's complicated to explain, but that's the best way to put it."
"Karalyn, he's a werewolf!" I yelled.
She gasped, "I know. I was doing my best not to tell you. Yours is a vampire. Can you believe this? It's like our eternal fight turned into reality!"
"He. Is. A. Werewolf." My eyes widened.
"Uh, what?" Ace seemed confused. "You are not into wolves, right, my ruby?" Oh? Ew, no.
"Me? Absolutely not. Kara is!"
"Am I good then?" Kylian seemed nervous.
"If you hurt her, I'll shot you in the face until I explode your brain, got it? I swear to the Goddess that I'll kill you, not giving a damn if you are a King, Jacob from Twilight, or a homeless person. I'll rip you apart until Jack the Ripper himself will be jealous of my job. Do you understand?"
He chuckled nervously, "Yes. Yes, I do."
"I don't like you, just to make sure you understood. But knowing that you are a werewolf, I know that ain't no way I'll be able to make her not accept whatever is it that happens between all of us," I exclaimed cruelly, still feeling warm because of Ace's touch. "Now you, japanese Jack Frost from eBay."
"Takeharu Mizusawa. You already know I'm a dragon," I do, indeed. Still can't believe, but I do. "And who's Jack Frost?"
"You really have a Japanese name, I wasn't wrong. And to think you are a dragon!" Scoffing, I turned to my mom. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
She didn't even try to hide it, "It was for the best!"
"Hah, let me guess," I scoffed bitterly, "Kraken, Minotaur, Basilisk," I turned to them and they seemed surprised. "Oh shit, I got it right, didn't I?" My eyes fell on the blonde and he flinched, "Goddess, why? What a nightmare." There's a snake-men right in front of me.
I knew something was off with him.
