"I DOUBT IT'S THE SAME WAY AS EARTH."
Now that she's calmer, everyone was able to eat in a better pace. So, after eating a slice of steak, her mother looked at her, "As they are all Kings, they cannot stay here for long, so, the idea of dinners isn't possible."
"Those troublemakers also have been trying to get here the entire week since they felt your presence in our world. We blocked it and only allowed them to come now. So, I believe the best would be for you to go with them back to their Kingdoms when they leave tonight. Otherwise they might start another war, which they were actually contemplating to do before we allowed them to come here tonight," Ezekiel grinned, "Avdelay and Kylian are the biggest walking troubles out of the six, they probably can't afford to wait more. Three of the five wars were caused by these two chaotic asses after all."
Now I'm the one blushing seeing the surprise in her face as she looked at me with those ruby perfect eyes. "We wouldn't have caused ignited the wars if you hadn't taken our mates from you," I snapped. "For 494 years. Four hundred and ninety four years, Ezekiel. That's how long we stayed away from them. You didn't have the right to do that to us, and I would gladly start more thousands of wars if it meant to have my mate with me. And I know the boys would too!"
"They should be our Queens by now," Kylian barked. "We should have been married for 485 years. You knew how important that was to us and you fucking did it anyway. You and your wife. And even though we'll become family, we will never forgive you for this!"
"Never!" We all hissed together, staring at him.
"I am aware," the bastard grinned. "And they are here for once, aren't they? That's what matters. Your anger is welcomed and reasonable. Both me and Eva were aware this would happen, but we don't regret doing it either way." He turned to my ruby and she was glaring at him with pure annoyance, which seemed to amuse him, "And no, sweetheart, marriages here aren't like the human ones. It's a soul connection. You can only marry your mate, just as you can only breed with them!"
She chocked on her drink, and not just her as her sisters too, "Breed? Goddess above, can't you used another word? That sounds… barbaric I don't know. And what? People can't have babies in here even if they come inside?" Oh, wow, she really has no filters.
Will she talk dirty in bed? Fuck, I'll love hearing it, as much as I love talking it. "No," I chuckled softly and her eyes turned to me instantly. "It is the way it is. All of us can only have one person in our life, both as our love and as to start a family," and she's mine.
"How does marriage work in this world?"
"Marriage is the consummation of the mating bond. The moment you claim each other, you are married. It's a eternal bond, strong, unbreakable, uniting two souls and connecting them in a indescribable manner," her mother told her, but her eyes were still on me. "Some like to throw a celebration for it, but it only happens months after it!"
"Months after it?" Jasver's mate asked curiously.
"Why?" Nycholay's mate added.
"Mating frenzy. It's different for every couple, but it always happens. When you consummate the mating bond, you go through this… heat. It's a burning desire that you cannot go against, it makes you irrational. That's why every couple isolates themselves from everyone for a period of the time, because the mating frenzy makes so even if a trustworthy person gets near your mate, you will fill like tearing them apart. So, it's dangerous for third wheels to be around, and so, they stay alone with each other!"
Ezekiel agreed with his wife, "Depending on the races of the parties in question, the mating frenzy can last a month… or six. The stronger you are, the longer it takes. And well, for demons it always takes a bit longer, so you should expect yours to last from three to six months."
Their gasp was loud and it was almost funny how all the six twins turned their identical shocked faces to their father, "Six months?"
"Maybe more in your case," their mother added.
"More?" Ryan's mate gasped. "What is this? Is it sexual starvation? You can't be insatiable like that. It's insane!" It's the first time Rosalyn spoke so much.
"My Sun, we've been holding ourselves for you for centuries. It was starvation. So, yes, it won't be surprising if we go kind of insane after we have a first taste," Ryan spoke softly and the girl turned bright red.
"Fucking hell," Jasmine gasped. "We'll die."
"In fact," Miles chuckled, "I believe you might be the ones who will kill them by being insatiable. Don't forget that you are part succubus, sisters," he winked at them.
"What about you?" My ruby gave him a gaze that was nothing short scrutinizing. "Where's your mate?"
He pressed his lips uncomfortable, "I'm still tracking her, okay? I'll find her until the end of the year and I'll bring her back. We haven't met yet, but I know where she might be," oh, we've talked about this before. He told us that his mate, a witch called Medea, vanished to the human world after crossing the veil when she was 5 years old. We kind of related on the whole mates-being-hiding-in-amongst-humanity thing.
I genuinely hope he'll find her soon, he's also been suffering from it, although different from us, he doesn't have someone to put the blame on. Miles deserves love just as much as we do. He's genuinely a good demon.
"What do you know about her?" Ruby pressed.
He sighed tiredly, "Medea Bittencourt. Witch. Same eyes as me. Have strong teleportation powers, awakened earlier than most witches. Crossed the veil at 5 years old and hasn't comeback yet."
"Was she your age, brother?" Thea asked.
A nod, "Yes. Mates are always of the same age, sis. If she left here at 5 years old, she must be slightly older than you. When mom left to have you there, she had already been there for 6 years on our timeline."
"Around 27 years then," Karalyn leaned forward in the table, looking at her brother, while the wolf's eyes were still glued on his mate.
"Where do you think she is?" Ruby tilted her head.
"France. You lived in the Caribbean Islands, but you went there once, didn't you? Kara told me. You visited the country," my mate nodded. "Is it a good one?"
She clicked her tongue, "If she chose France, she is a romantic, Miles. That is the country of love. It is a famous destination for lovers. It's a lovely place. Not my cup of tea, but it's the dream destination of many."
"Any guess of jobs she could work on?" He tried.
"Baker. Chef. Writer. Hotelier. Fashion designer!"
"I'll first look over those then. I'll be leaving to the human world in a month to try finding her," their mom held his hand from across the table. "She can't not love me."
My ruby chuckled, "She can. Don't underestimate females, Miles. Don't let your ego blind you. Some girls do not fall for a joke and pretty smile."
"Yes, some are more like Andy, they like evil spirits, and not a lovely sweetheart," Jasmine mocked her.
She simply rolled her eyes, "Said the tentacles girl."
"Andromeda!" She cried embarrassed.
"What? You started it, Jess," drinking a sip of her drink, a mischievous grin played on her lips. Lips that I desperately want to kiss. "You don't expect us to straight go to bed as soon as we leave here, right?" She asked me with a smirk. "That ain't happening. I'll need a bit of time to get used to… to you!"
I know she won't last that long since she's already as aroused as I am, "I'll give you the time you need, my ruby. None of you will be forced to do anything by any of us. You will want us as much as we want you either way!"
She raised her eyebrows daringly, by the way she clenched her legs a bit tighter to each other said what her face didn't, "I wouldn't be so sure."
"But I am," I grinned amusedly.
"So, uh, we'll really go separate ways from tonight onwards?" Karalyn asked, looking at her sisters anxiously. "How… how will that work for us?"
Kylian gave her a reassuring nod, "We imagined that you would be very close to each other when you came back from the human world, so we found a way to get closer to one another. That's why we are friends and not enemies. Well, frenemies allies, if you may. We have a good relationship with each other on a personal level, so, after… the mating frenzy is ceased, you won't have to worry about having difficulty on contacting your sisters."
"We would never want any of you to cut all the contact you have with one another," Jasver added calm but firmly. "So, we made sure we would be able to deal with you staying close to each other in the future."
Nycholay nodded, "Of course, you won't be able to live or sleep together anymore, since you will be our Queens, but we have ways that will allow you to constantly keep contact and to meet casually. Like we also do."
"Queens," my ruby mumble staring at her cup. "That is a whole damn different level of responsibility to have," is she worried? "And we aren't even of the same race as your people, won't they be against us?"
"Never!" I snapped and she blinked at me. "In fact, not only my Kingdom, but all the others are still celebrating until now that you came back. They have been waiting for their Queens for centuries, Ruby. We went to war for you, they are anxious to finally meet you. Our people aren't very happy with your parents for what they did, but that's on them, not on you."
"Ace's right," Miles exclaimed, tilting his head to her side. "They've all been waiting for you."
"Even though we aren't of the same race?" I could smell the anxiety in Thea's voice.
"That's not how it works in our world, Emerald," Takeharu leaned closer to her with that heart-fluttering smile of his. "Our races aren't xenophobic like humans are. Besides, our Kingdoms aren't solely made of our races. It's predominantly of them, but not solely."
"The mating bond acts in ways no one can even start to understand," Ryan added, drinking a bit of his passion fruit juice with vodka. Seems like Ezekiel really knows all the food and drinks we like. It's either that or Miles organized this. "Mostly the matches are within the same race, but it's common to see interracial couples like your parents. Hybrids tend to be even stronger, to be honest. It's a blessing when that happens."
I clicked my tongue in agreement and meet my mate's gaze, "Even more when it comes to the mate being a demon, a witch, or a wizard. Since right now, they are mostly the ones with the abilities to cross the veil of the two worlds. It's a given to have that passed down again."
"You really can't cross it?" She asked me.
"No. None of us. If we had that, Ruby, we would have gone after you in the human world centuries ago. That wouldn't be a reason for the wars. It's been millennials since our families last bred with demons and witches, so, we don't have that!"
She bit her bottom lip, her cheeks turning red again, but before she could say anything, Takeharu clicked his tongue, "Okay, but who's Jack Frost?"
Ruby have him a deadly glare and grinned in the most vicious way, making my heart skip a beat seeing how sexy she is, "Jack Frost was a cannibal prince from the 15 hundreds on Switzerland. He was said to be owner of great beauty, with pale skin, white hair, and blue eyes. However, he was nothing short of a murderous monster, a Prince who used his power to lure virgin females and males from 14 to 20 years old. He would then deflower, drug, rip their organs, and eat every one of them!"
I don't think we were the only ones staring at her with a horrified look on our face. That was monstrous even for us, Gods above, humans are horrifying. "What?" Takeharu's voice came out a whisper.
Her and her sisters burst out laughing at our face and their mom scolded them. "Andy, don't do that. You have that habit since you were a kid. Don't listen to her, Taki, she made that shit up. Jack Frost is from a Yule fairy tale. The only truth that came out of her mouth was how he looks. In the story he's like a forgotten spirit guardian, or a forgotten Yule God if you may. He does good deeds to be remembered, so he can regain his strength and fight the evil forces that are trying to destroy humanity."
"Not fun, mom," Ruby sulked.
"That sounded horrible, Andy. You managed to get that reaction from them, and they have seen quite a lot of terrors after so many wars," that's true.
But damn. How did she invented that up out of no-fucking-where? It was genuinely horrifying. "That's what she gets after reading so much bloody stories," Karalyn yelled provocatively and Ruby gave her a mischievous grin.
"Look who's talking!"
"Oh, please, not this discussion again," Jasmine's eyes widened in annoyance, as if she had heard that more than a dozen times. "You've agreed on Klaus Mikaelson, didn't you? So, why still fight over it? You two bicker about this since ever."
Ruby turned to her, "But the fun is on discussing it, Jess. And it's better if I discuss with Kara about this, than me discussing with you about your peculiar preference, no?" Oh, she has all of her sister's on her hand. "Or do you want to go there?"
The third oldest blushed embarrassed and gave Ruby a puzzled look, "Ugh, you are always so low. I'll never win a fight with you. Crackhead dumbass," but she seemed far from annoyed.
My mate winked at her and I felt jealous, wanting her to wink at me. "That's what I thought."
"At least she let you have that pet of yours," Nayara who was just watching amusedly, spoke, bringing our eyes to her. "When I tried to have one she threw a tantrum and said that it was either my pet or her in the Manor," oh no.
I couldn't even hold my laughter, and she looked at me as if that had offended her, then her eyes turned to her second youngest sister, "That can't even be compared, Nay. Jess had an octopus in a aquarium. You wanted a giant and poisonous snake. That shit would eat us all while you slept. And after it killed us, it would sleep with you straightened just to see if you fit in its stomach, and when it got what it needed, it would eat you up too!"
Nycholay gasped in horror, "That ain't a thing!"
"Maybe not with you humanoids, snake-boy, but it definitely is with your familiars of Earth. A lizard is one thing, because Thea's were harmless, but a snake? Not even over my tomb. Scary shit," as we all laughed, she pretended to be annoyed.
"In my defense, I had no idea the snake I wanted was poisonous!" Nayara exclaimed.
Ruby scoffed, "Just one look at that monstrosity and you would be able to tell it was fucking poisonous, Nayara. If the size of it wasn't alarming enough, since it was of the length of all the six of us together, the bright neon color of it would have sounded an alarm in anyone with common sense, dumbass. Did you forget our biology classes? Stay away from neon colored animals, they're p-o-i-s-o-n-o-u-s!"
"I was 15!"
"And so was I," she chuckled widening her eyes.
"Mom could have taken it's fangs so it wouldn't bit us!" Oh my Gods, they're still insisting on it. She must be bitter about it until now.
My mate arched her eyebrows, "Since when snakes feed by chewing, Nayara? They swallow you up. Just taking its fangs wouldn't do shit. Now, beheading it would!"
Nycholay turned pale, passing his hand over his neck is such a funny way that both me, Kylian, Jasver, and Taki didn't hold our chuckle.
"That's cruel. Snakes are cute, Andy," Nayara said.
"With all due respect, but even krakens are cuter than snakes, Nay, and they are ridiculous alone. But well, we all have different tastes. You like a fuller package than we do, right, Thea?" She focused on her sister with a wide grin, and Takeharu's mate blushed profusely.
"Don't bring me into your fight," she tried a curve.
"Mm-hm," Ruby pushed her shoulder on her sister's softly, then she finished her drink. "Why decide on which street to go when you can just go through a venue, hm?"
"Andromedaaaa!" Her sisters gasped in unison.
She winked at them, "I'm just messing around. Using up the time we have to annoy you as much as I can, since we won't be seeing each other for a while," then her eyes came to mine playfully and she winked at me.
Oh my Gods, I think I died and went to heaven. Oh shit, my heart is beating like a bitch. "I can hear you from here, fangs. Calm down, my ears are sensible," he mocked.
"Shut up, dirty dog!"
