HE HATES IT WHEN I CALL HIM THAT.
"Not at all," Evangeline spoke and my eyes went to her, finally being able to see the demon's mate, the mother of my own. I always expected her to look similar to Miles since he doesn't look like Ezekiel, except for the body shape and all, but I didn't expect him to be a male copy of her. "It'll take longer than that," she grinned.
"You," Kylian growled and I held his arm in a tight grip before he could say something to her. She's probably the most influential person on our mates' lives, they would hate us if they knew we said shit to their mom, even though we don't like her for having ran away with them.
"I heard my mate shot you five times and made quite the mess, father-in-law. Seems like she didn't take your absence very kindly, did she? I heard the bullets had venom," my grin widened softly, "it's a pity that you are immune to it though."
He seemed amused. Of course he did, that psycho. "Hah, Avdelay, you will be surprised to see how similar to me Andy is," Andy? Is that her nickname? "Not just in appearance as in personality too. She's nasty."
"None of my girls will be easy to deal with, kids," she spoke again with a proud grin. "They also won't be so willingly when meeting you. But I did my best to help so they wouldn't be terrified when knowing what you are really are."
"That wouldn't happen if you hadn't taken them from us," Jasver spoke in a dangerous calm. "They would have grown up with us. Would be our wives by now. No matter what problems will surface, it'll all be your fault," and he said that staring straight at Evangeline.
"We are aware, but we don't regret it one bit," she gave him a viper grin that would make anyone mistake her from a witch for a basilisk. "Ez told me how you started five wars because of it. I felt genuinely glad for that, it proves that my daughters are important enough for you to go to wars for them."
I clenched my fists, "How was their life there?"
Sigh, "It was good. I did my best to give them all, and I hyped them up on all of their interests." I think that not only me but all of us felt better hearing that. "They are inseparable, it's good that you all have a link because you will definitely have to spend sometime together after making them your Queens."
We knew that would happen. "We imagined as much," Ryan exclaimed calmly.
"I'll have to ask you to go easy on them at first. They just learned that they aren't humans and they are trying to cope with it. Well, most of them are okay with it, just the two most stubborn aren't. But they will get used to it quickly. I made sure that learning the truth would be easier for them, by letting them know I wasn't necessarily a human and I had magic since they were babies."
Nycholay clicked his forked tongue, "Are you asking us to stay in our faeling forms for now, Empress? For fear of scaring them?"
"Yes," as expected.
"We were already planning on doing that," Takeharu rolled his wide shoulders. "The last thing we want is to frighten our mates, mother-in-law. We've literally waited our entire lives for them, we won't fuck it up."
Ezekiel seemed glad to hear that, "We have no doubt about that, Mizusawa," yes, he calls him by his last name. "We just want you to understand the situation. Most of our girls will be easy to deal with as long as you take care of them and go slow in the beginning," his eyes fell on me and I felt a shiver ran down my spine.
"Tell me what you want to say, Ezekiel!" I hissed.
He grinned, "The one who's struggling the most with everything is the oldest, Andy. She's stubborn and hard to deal with, even Miles is having a tough time," three of the boys gasped hearing that. "You were right, she shot me five times on cold blood when I sent Eva back to our Palace. And she would have shot me more five times, even after learning that I was her father, if Thea hadn't stopped her."
"My Emerald?" Takeharu beamed on hearing that and I almost rolled my eyes. He's ridiculously adorable.
"They grew up with a mindset of two oldest, two middle children, and two youngest," Evangeline spoke. "While Kara is the most easygoing as the youngest, Andy took the burden of being an eldest child for herself. The girls all look up to her like a leader, and they even call her a second mother because of the way she's overprotective of them. So, the problem won't be solely of Ace," oh, it feels good to finally hear my name like that. "She'll cause some trouble to all of you because you will be taking her little sisters away and she might snap."
"Ugh," Kylian growled. "An Ace's female version."
That doesn't sound so bad. "Snap?" I pressed.
Ezekiel giggled lightly, "She's been walking with the same gun she shot me everywhere, and I think she has about six bullets on it. Maybe more. None of you are immune to venom, so, you should beware."
I grinned widely, "Interesting."
"Psychopath," Nycholay growled and I glared at him. "What? I'm the one in danger here."
"You are indeed," Evangeline chuckled. "Andy is… well, she's terrified of snakes. I don't suggest you to sit so close to her when you meet in the dinner!" Dinner?
He gasped, "That doesn't sound cool."
"Just, try to be honest with her and show how you care for the girls," I can't believe EZEKIEL is giving us an advice.
"Did any humans deflower them?" Jasver finally asked what all of us were dying to know.
And our sigh of relief was loud when they gave a negative nod. "They even use purity rings," Evangeline added.
"What is that?" Nycholay asked.
"You use it when you are saving yourself for marriage. I raised my girls well. Their will is strong even though they are part succubus, they never felt interested by anyone in the Island. Only for fictional characters, so you have nothing to worry. You will be their first on everything," Gods, this makes me happily nervous.
"Do all of them enjoy reading?" Ryan asked leaning closer. "Will they enjoy having a library for themselves?"
A nod, "They do. I worked as a writer in the human world, so, they got the love for it. Having a library for them to roam freely would definitely make them happy. But that's one of the only things they have in common, each of them have unique and different personalities."
"You said they separated themselves in oldest, middle, and youngest," Takeharu recalled. "How did that worked exactly? I mean, how did that influenced on their personalities separately? How did that dynamic with each other worked?"
She took a sip of something in a glass, "Andy and Thea as the oldest have a similar personality, they are the most responsible, the most mature, the ones who work the best under pressure. Although they have a problem of putting their needs aside to take care of the youngest ones. Andy more than Thea, since Thea also lean a lot on her sister," that made me feel strange.
I want to be someone who she can lean on. As she apparently didn't have that, I want to be it for her. But for that I'll earn her trust first.
"You don't have to worry about the language barrier, I tattooed on them a spell that makes them fluent instantly in our common language and in the individual ones. Both for talking and understanding as for reading and writing. It'll all come easy for them," that's a good side of her being a strong witch.
"That way they will be able to read the books in your first languages," Ezekiel added.
"Thea is the calmest of them all," so, she would be like Jasver is to us. "As the two oldest Andy and Thea very much balance each other. Where Andy is scary and intimidating, Thea is more soothing. But she does has a temper, though it's hard to get her mad. Both of them have a sour sense of humor, and Andy's is closer to a dark one."
"Hah, she'll fit just right with fangs," Kylian mocked.
"Ah, I'm so lucky," Takeharu mumble to himself, smiling like a silly dumbass. Ugh, I wanted to hate him but the guy is just wholesome, you have no idea. Sometimes he makes me want to pinch his pale cheeks. Damned dragon.
"Jess and Rosa as the middle children are more introspective. Nor responsibility-drive like Andy and Thea, neither easygoing and pranksters like Nay and Kara. They are very emotional and melancholic sometimes, just as they are also easy to laugh, but only when they trust you. If they don't, they come out as cold. Andy and Thea have a silvery tongue, while Nay and Kara are very easy to talk to and have a very open mind. But Jess and Rosa are more suspicious at first contact, they analyzed before trying to deal with it."
Seems likes she has a way of cataloguing them.
"But once they trust us?" Jasver tilted his head.
"They will be an amazing company, as they are very versatile and deal with different stuff better. Andy is slightly narrow minded with some things, while the others aren't. All of them are viciously honest, no matter what it is, they are cruelly honest about what they think. Andy and Thea only showed filters when it came to their sisters, when it comes to others they are all the same on this."
"Honesty is appreciated," Kylian grinned.
"Dumbass," Ryan elbowed him, "that means they can be cruel in the beginning. Isn't that what you are trying to say by telling us that, mother-in-law?"
"Yes, Ryan, it is. Especially-"
"Ace's mate!" They all said together.
Our soon-to-be in-laws grinned, "Yes. Seems like that is understood. The girls have many artistic talents, and they are also incredibly good at physical combat. Andy, Nay and Kara are the fastest ones. While Thea, Jess, and Rosa have more physical strength. You only have to worry about Andy when it comes to stop attacks, she's the only one impulsive enough to attack you in a way that might cause death."
"Father-in-law knows that better than anyone."
He glared at me, "Ha, ha, ha. You brat, I want to see if you'll be laughing when my daughter stab you when mad."
"Is that a threat or a promise?" I grinned.
"He's a psycho, Ezekiel, that stuff attracts him more than it pushes away," Kylian scoffed. "And I bet he would enjoy some blood spilling. Wouldn't you, fangs?"
I scoffed in bitter amusement, "As long as it's your blood being spilled, I would love it. Wolf's blood tastes strangely sweet!"
"See? Psycho!" He gasped.
"Any more questions?" Evangeline asked.
"Are they all identical?" Jasver again, asked what all of us have been wondering.
She seemed amused, "Scarily identical if not for their eyes identical to yours," that made my chest warm. "You will see them on dinner, but for fuck's sake, be composed. Don't act like the beasts you are."
"It's the second time you mention this dinner," I arched my eyebrows. "When is it?"
"Tonight," Ezekiel smirked. "In two hours the portal will open on your Palace, Avdelay. You better be ready. You are already on your faeling forms, so stay in it. Behave."
We all got up at the same time, "Two hours?"
"You should get ready to meet your mates after all the wait, Kings," As Evangeline said that, the magical scroll disappeared leaving us baffled.
"We'll use your clothes!" They all exclaimed staring at him.
"Fine. You won't have time to go to your Kingdoms and comeback. I'll separate your outfits and then each of you can go get ready on the spare chambers," as I finished my drink, I took the glass of whiskey one of them was drink and turned it. "Let's get ready," I stormed out of my study, and they followed me all burning up with desire and anxiety so strong that I could smell it.
