Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: Matrix Battle

The Matrix Floor was divided by three types of walls concluding the walls outside that were bypassed by the enemies. The last wall was the Matrix Lobby where some of the remaining Valkyrie had been tasked to protect the inner buildings just behind the Matrix Floor.

The second wall is where the Matrix System had been located. While the enemies was being handled by the defense Valkyries. A rain of loud gunfire continued to fire at the enemies between the Valkyrie and their enemies, bullets were flying everywhere and lasers destroyed many pillars of the Matrix Floor.

The continued battle didn't end, some Valkyrie had fallen victim to their weapons. The enemies tried to reduce the Valkyries functions while trying to waste time. They were trying to cover up the time needed to complete the hijack in Caleb's laboratory.

They made sure that no one could stop their plan from succeeding. Of course the matters with the Valkyrie remain. They've only heard of them from the reports but they didn't think that these ladies, they are but an imitation of a human appearance, but deep inside, they are nothing but scraps of metal.

Even machines get easily destroyed.

Upon learning the situation in the main battleground, Valerie and the Valkyrie behind her signaled the defense Valkyrie of their assistance. The main objective is not to get rid of the enemies, but rather to stop the hijacking that is happening within the walls of the Matrix Floor.

Valerie was instructed to waste time with them. She was also given the task to either dispose, kill or spare the enemies life which are humans. Indeed, it will be inhumane for them to do this but Valerie is not a human, she's but a mortal from another world.

Humans may be bad or not. However, they aren't special beings we're considering whether or not sparing their life is good. They couldn't even make a proper decision, so why is she obligated to save them?

She had yet forgotten what the humans did to her, even so, the one she can't forgive is her own father who decided the best for her and sent her—instead to a safe place—he sent her to hell's doorstep.

The movement of sounds, and gunshots came closer and closer to their ears. Valerie gives them signs to help the Valkyries that were injured and she runs towards the entrance to catch up with the battle held inside but as soon as she enters a loud missile goes flying through their way.

"Get down everyone!" She instructed and tried evading the missile which it targeted at the walls, after that the wall blew up and shocked the entire building from the floor.

A normal human can die from that, even if missiles aren't as strong as bombs, they can at least deal a lot more damage than hand grenades. She didn't think they were crazy enough to send a missile flying inside a building, it could mess the structure and destroy the walls.

She gritted her teeth and hid between the pillars that had fallen due to the missile attack. Fiona stood beside her kneeling, she then put her opened arm against her chest, and she grasped.

"What happened here?" She asks Fiona who's eyes widen at the sight of Valerie.

She pulled her gun and tightened her grip. "Advanced weapons had been created. Those items had surpassed our capability, the power is stronger than normal bullets. We can't directly hit them, they pierce through our bones harder than a shell. Many of us had fallen, and the enemies surrounded the entire floor."

It's unnatural for humans to advance this fast. Not long before they capture one, and the timing is too perfect to be coincidence. Seven is the main shield, she has protected the system from any potential hackers from the entire world. She knew how to control the attacks, but if she's offline and under maintenance, no one takes over the job but Caleb himself.

Unfortunately, Caleb was on a trip. The entire lab was left vulnerable to any potential attackers. Even if they made a schedule of their attack, they shouldn't know the coincidence of both Caleb and Seven's situation.

It's too perfect, but how? The entire lab has no humans inside, the Valkyrie, and the mortal from another world remains. No humans have ever set foot on this island, no matter what but something is strange as well.

"Is there anyone suspiciously involved since the attackers came?" She asks, trying to confirm her small grasp of the situation.

Fiona nodded. "A Valkyries system was hijacked in the morning, so they've taken her to Seven, after that the Valkyrie rested and Seven went offline. Then it started at that point, Lyrica knew that something was wrong but she didn't want to be sure."

That's right, it would be strange for a model that is non combatant to be controlled. It won't mean a thing, but after Seven discovered the truth about the hijacks inside the lab, they've sent various Valkyries including one of the female support machines in a mission to eradicate the unknown hijackers of their system.

Traces soon found them but lacked evidence to support their claims. They ended up looking for another clue which led them to corrupt channels at the mainstream group chats. This leaks corrupted files and it gives a power to spread malware virus across the internet.

"This might be infiltration and conquest. To think humans are capable of this kind of thing, I am amazed."

She looked at the enemies direct fight against some of the combat Valkyrie and watch them gunned one of the Valkyrie. It was to fast for her to grasp what happen after that. The bullet couldn't be seen even with the advanced eyesight given to them by Caleb.

This ability to foresee the fastest of bullets speed, nor enemies attack from above and below was an ability of the Espers that all Valkyrie including Valerie was using. A magical item made from science, an item that is used in battles. Espers ability can promote their normal IQ and five of their senses which is needed for a Valkyrie.

Unlike Valerie who's born in a soft body like a human. Machines are metal and have no taste of senses, neither touch, nor smell. They could use Espers to allow them the power to sense. This can help them to improvise what capability they need to advance.

Espers are like Aria but with a science injected in it, and rules it needed to follow. Each Esper has its own essence, the boundary and uniqueness. It's solely in your mind, and within your body.

To Valkyrie in the modern world, the use of Espers fits their ability quite well. Depending on that, Espers can cancel anything that is suspicious. This design was made closer to Aria and the life made within Stigma.

One thing, the Valkyries arm shattered. It was too powerful and heavy, a minor Valkyrie can't take that head on. "She can't fight that alone, it will be risky for her since she's a different type of model."

"Should I take her back, co-major?" She looked at her and smiled.

"That would be necessary, she'll lose her part in that battle, it's better not to take them heads on. I'll further observe the situation as major orders."

The defense combatant nodded. "Aye, let's meet again, and may the God of War bless you."

Valerie nodded.

There are several enemies but they have been divided. Looking at their movements and weaponry made her feel strange. Those arm weapons have the design as one that she found in the ruins of Israel, one of the oldest temples. That weapon has the scale of an ancient item, but rather ancient it was as if the gun was made during a predicament in the future.

The design seems different to their current weapon. It was more advanced and more in shape. It also lights up when they trigger a bullet. It's like an M16 but with the function M16 can't have. The speed, distance, the power and the design all were different.

As soon as the enemies move forward. She finally got a better look at them. They wore black masks but the Esper still can see them through the disguise. Names, age, and background was scanned and processed but what shook her was an object in their back.

Soon as they appear out of the mist, there she can see that object behind them. It's as if that object is connected to their weapons, like the power of the lasers must have come from the energies stored behind them. She never saw something like this in the human lands, only their weapons were defective so that no one can fight back monsters but recently, they've developed drastically.

Armenians don't go on war with Human Realm, instead they are here to provide support to their allies who's enemies from a far land. Giving them weapons that are significantly more powerful than their normal weapons. She shouldn't be shocked by this, because they've distributed weapons and never thought of the consequences in giving humans a weapon.

They've been looking for a way to replicate Caleb's work, but neither was successful. This must be their newest prototype, a product made by their own hand. Although soon enough they'll be gone, humans will be forced to lose their memories of the Valkyries' existence.

This will help them advance further. What Caleb gives them is just a taste, he doesn't mean declaring war by giving humans a small portion of weapons they created from their own hand.

Humans may be the evil and most cruelest species in this world but they aren't all bad. Some of them still remain decent and good, while some were devoured by greed and ego.
