An hour after leaving the Silver Gorilla's hunting ground, Bai Tian found himself in a vast grassland where trees could no longer be seen, allowing a clear view of the horizon.
He looked at the map to see where he was at.
The place was called Durnar Plains, an open habitat that stretched for a hundred miles. There was a road for travelers about 10 miles from Bai Tian's location, but since he wasn't planning on going to another city, he went to the nearest hunting ground.
According to the map, there were three hunting grounds nearby with monsters above level 40. The furthest one, which was about 5 miles away, had monsters between level 45 to 50.
After pondering for some time, Bai Tian decided to hunt at the nearest hunting ground to see if they had any decent drops before moving to the next one.
The nearest hunting ground was less than a mile away from his current location.
When he arrived, he could see several monsters that resembled bulls roaming around. These monsters had a muscular body, brown skin, two sharp horns on the side of its head, and three tails. Some only had one or two tails, but the majority of them had three.
[Aggressive Taurus] [Level: 41]
Bai Tian picked the nearest one and struck it with a Qi Bullet.
[Precise Hit: 1,000]
After getting its attention, the monster immediately started charging at Bai Tian, its speed ramping up as it traveled.
Seeing this, Bai Tian did not dodge as he normally would. Instead, he lowered his body and jumped into the air right before the bull could reach him.
When he was above the monster, Bai Tian stabbed his sword at its neck.
[Precise Hit: 714]
The damage was lower than he expected, probably due to the monster's high defense.
Meanwhile, after missing its target, the Aggressive Taurus did not stop running and made an unexpected U-turn.
However, its attack pattern did not change. Bai Tian eventually defeated the monster after several more rounds of repeated patterns.
The monster itself wasn't hard to fight. In fact, it was incredibly easy and relaxing for Bai Tian. The only annoying part was how many hits he needed to defeat it due to its high defenses, but that was to be expected when fighting monsters at a higher level.
[Taurus Skin]
[Grade: Uncommon]
[Description: Has a rough texture.]
[Taurus Horn]
[Grade: Rare]
[Description: Very pointy.]
After spending about two hours hunting Aggressive Taurus, he received a notification.
[Aggressive Taurus] [Level: 42] [Health: 7,000] [Mana: 0]
[Possible Drops: Taurus Skin(100%), Taurus Horn(3%)]
In addition to acquiring their information, he also reached level 22.
It was also at that moment he decided to move to the next hunting ground, which was about a mile and half away from the Aggressive Taurus' hunting ground.
[Killer Rabbit] [Level: 44]
Contrary to most of the monsters he's encountered to this point, the Killer Rabbit is a small white rabbit with a body that was slightly smaller than the average adult rabbit. It looked like an ordinary rabbit at glance, but if one could sense killing intent like Bai Tian, they would be able to sense an intense amount of killing intent coming from them.
"That's a lot of killing intent coming from such a small body." Bai Tian mumbled to himself when he first saw this monster.
Suddenly, one of them happened to turn to look at Bai Tian's direction.
When this Killer Rabbit realized that it was looking at a human, it immediately opened its mouth, revealing the hundreds of sharp teeth that it had been hiding inside.
It started hopping towards him a second later at a speed that was even faster than the Aggressive Taurus' charging speed.
If it was any ordinary player, they would've been caught off guard by the Killer Rabbit's explosive speed and experienced the horror of its bite.
However, Bai Tian wasn't an ordinary player. He quickly reacted to the attack and met the incoming rabbit with his sword.
Sha!
In exchange for its small hitboxes and ridiculous speed, the Killer Rabbits had very low defenses, allowing Bai Tian to kill it with a single blow if he landed it properly.
[Quality Rabbit Fur]
[Grade: Uncommon]
[Description: Soft and fluffy!]
After killing about 20 more Killer Rabbits, he received more information on them.
[Killer Rabbit] [Level: 44] [Health: 1,500] [Mana: 0]
[Possible Drops: Quality Rabbit Fur(100%), Lucky Rabbit's Foot(0.001%)]
"Lucky Rabbit's Foot? What a low drop rate…" Bai Tian was surprised to see such a low drop rate for a common monster, and this was his first time not acquiring all of the monster's drop before seeing its possible drops.
And wanting a good challenge, he decided to grind for the Lucky Rabbit's Foot. However, he also decided to wait until he saw what kind of monster roamed the last hunting ground before doing so, thus he started making his way to the next hunting ground, which was about 2 miles away.
In the next hunting ground, he encountered a new type of monster– flying-type monsters.
[Soaring Skyblade] [Level: 49]
These flying monsters were hovering about 20 meters in the sky. They had black and purple feathers, sharp claws, and a penetrating gaze.
"Hmm… Compared to the previous two monsters, it'll be a pain fighting them with my current capabilities." He mumbled out loud.
Even if he could shoot them with Qi Bullet, it would still be bothersome to fight them. However, he still wanted to experience fighting them at least once, so he aggravated one with Qi Bullet.
Bai Tian would learn a moment later that these flying monsters had another trick hidden under their wings.
After being struck by Bai Tian's Qi Bullet, the provoked Soaring Skyblade immediately started flapping its wings in his direction in quick succession.
A moment later, it unleashed a sharp, blade-like construct made from wind magic that flew at Bai Tian.
Bai Tian instinctively jumped back, barely dodging the wind magic that sliced a sword-like wound on the ground.
He looked at the cut on the ground and smiled, "Now this is a pretty big jump in difficulty."
However, he wasn't intimidated by the flying monster's terrifying combat prowess, and the thought of escaping never crossed his mind.
When the Soaring Skyblade realized that its attack had missed its target, it quickly swooped down with its claws wide open, almost like a hawk when descending upon its prey.
Seeing this, Bai Tian readied his sword.
After dodging its claws, Bai Tian swung his sword at its right wing, slicing it right off.
[Precise Hit: 1,230]
Without one of its wings, the Soaring Skyblade could no longer fly, making it an easy target for Bai Tian, who quickly finished it off with a Fatal Blow to the head.
[Sharp Talon]
[Quality: Rare]
[Description: Don't bring it near your eyes.]
It might seem like a pain to deal with them at first glance, but it wasn't that bad.' Bai Tian thought to himself, ignoring the fact that he was an abnormal existence.
After slaying a few more Soaring Skyblades, enough to acquire their information, Bai Tian made his way back to the Killer Rabbit's hunting ground to grind for the Lucky Rabbit's Foot– or so he thought.
When he saw the Soaring Skyblade's possible drops, he decided to stay in the area for a little longer since he was already there.
[Soaring Skyblade] [Level: 48] [Health: 3,000] [Mana: 500]
[Magic Spells: Wind Blade]
[Possible Drops: Sharp Talon(100%), Wind Blade Spell Book(0.01%)]
