After returning to the city, Bai Tian went straight to the store where he sold his Blue Pig Skins previously.
The same pretty young lady from his last visit greeted him again, and she recognized him at glance, as it was hard to forget someone as handsome as Bai Tian, not to mention how much he sold to their store last time.
"Are you here to sell again, Esteemed Guest?" She asked him with the same bright smile.
He nodded, "I have a little more this time."
The lady swallowed nervously after hearing such words, and she started to mentally prepare herself.
"Please, follow me."
Bai Tian expected to follow her to the same room as last time, but he was brought to a different room instead— one that was much more spacious.
"I will get the manager now."
A few minutes later, she returned with a short middle-aged man.
"Welcome back, Esteemed Guest. I heard from my worker that you have more materials to sell to us, so let's get straight to business. What do you have for us today?"
Bai Tian glanced at his inventory and said, "I have 1,121 Quality Rabbit Fur, 72 Taurus Skin, and 1 Red Bear Fur that I forgot to sell the last time I was here."
"You have over a thousand Quality Rabbit Fur?!" The manager appeared to be greatly shocked by this news.
Since Killer Rabbits are small and fast, making them difficult and frustrating to hunt, very few people go out of their way to farm them, so there is always a low supply despite the high demand for their fur.
"Did you really hunt these yourself?" The young lady couldn't help but ask him even though it was a disrespectful question.
Bai Tian nodded, "Yes, I did. So, how much are you willing to pay for them?"
The manager swallowed nervously before responding, "Like the last time, we will have to inspect the quality of them before I can give you a price. But since we're dealing with higher quality materials, we will have to be extra careful, which will take a little longer."
"If you'd like, you may come back later. Our store has an impeccable reputation when it comes to trust, so you don't need to worry about foul play." The manager reassured him.
"Then I will come back later. But before I leave, do you know any stores that buy materials that are not meat or skin? For example, a horn." Bai Tian showed the manager the Taurus Horn.
"Oh! Now that's a rare drop! You should definitely visit the Adventurer's Guild. They will buy almost any material from you at a fair price."
"The Adventurer's Guild, huh. I was planning on giving them a visit, anyway. Alright, then I will return in a bit." Bai Tian left the store shortly after dropping off the materials he wanted to sell.
The Adventurer's Guild was on the other side of the city, so it took a while for Bai Tian to get there.
When he arrived, he could see many people hanging out in front of a large building with the sign 'Adventurer's Guild' by the doors. These people were wearing armors and had weapons strapped to their back or by their waist.
The unique thing about High Fantasy Online was that one wouldn't be able to tell if an individual was a Player or NPC at glance since there was no visual as indicator.
As Bai Tian walked past these individuals, they would look at him with raised eyebrows, or more specifically, his black robe that gave off this menacing aura.
Once inside, a spacious reception area greeted Bai Tian, adorned with a long wooden counter where guild staff members attended to the needs of the adventurers. Notice boards adorned the walls, displaying various quests, job postings, and snippets of valuable information about their surrounding areas, such as active dungeons and sightings of specific monsters.
Bai Tian walked straight to the reception desk, where a red-headed young lady was working. Her red eyes glistened when she saw Bai Tian, and a bright smile appeared on her face as she greeted him, "Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild! How may we assist you today?"
"I have some materials that I would like to sell to the guild."
"Of course. Are you from the Merchant's Guild? Or are you an Adventurer?"
"I'm neither."
"I see. Then would you like to register as an Adventurer today? You get bonuses if you ever sell to us, as well as other perks for being an Adventurer."
"What are these other perks?" Bai Tian asked.
"There are too many to list. Do you have anything specific you want to focus on? For example, raiding dungeons, farming as a group, or just doing odd jobs for quick cash."
Bai Tian pondered for a moment before responding, "Mostly just selling materials, maybe farming as a group."
He was also going to say raiding dungeons, but he preferred to raid dungeons alone, since he would receive all of the rewards at the end.
"Well then, as I've already said, you will receive more money if you sell to us as an Adventurer, and those with a higher rank will receive a higher bonus. If you are ever looking for a specific material, we can also provide it, or help you look for it. There is at least one Adventurer's Guild in every city within the entire Human Continent, so you can imagine our influence."
"The Adventurer's Guild also boasts the highest member count amongst all organizations across the Human Continent, so there will be no lack of people to group up with. Some of the strongest humans in the world are Adventurers, too."
"If there is anything else that you want to know, you can come back at any time to ask our associates."
"Then what restrictions are there as an Adventurer?" Bai Tian then asked.
"As an Adventurer, you are not allowed to kill other Adventurers, which is punishable with a death sentence. Of course, being an Adventurer does not make you immune to the rules and regulations of society, so criminals are not allowed to be an Adventurer, and those who stray towards that path will be stripped of their title and turned over to the proper authorities."
"Besides that, you are required to complete at least one quest every three months to remain as an Adventurer. This is also to let us know that you are still alive, as Adventurers die all the time. Higher ranks will have more leeway when it comes to their quota. But you can always renew your license if it ever gets revoked for a fee."
"Other than that, you are free to do as you wish. There's really no downside to being an Adventurer, that I can assure you."
"I can quit being an Adventurer whenever I want, right?" Bai Tian asked.
"Of course."
"Then I'll sign up today."
"Very well. Give me a second to get your paperwork." The red-headed lady reached under her desk to retrieve a piece of paper and an ink pen.
Bai Tian began signing the paper a moment later.
