Chapter 34 - Breaking through 100: First Transformation

The provided body refining technique was clearly defined and somewhat simple.

It was separated into the bone, muscle, internal organ, heart/lung, blood, and brain stages in that order, with the density and structure of mana increasing and getting more stable with each cycle.

For each cycle the color of the bones changes, and as such each cycle is named after that color change.

The first being the blue cycle, then the purple, then red, orange and lastly the yellow. The Golden Overlord Body takes off from this point with the bones, blood, hair, and eyes all turning gold, hence the name.

If it was as simple as density then he would be half way through the blue cycle, with his heart, lungs, brain and various vessels left to saturate, but it's not that simple.

The Jin Clan Golden body refining technique trained both density and structure. While both a lump of coal and a diamond are made out of carbon, structure is what sets them apart. Both quantity and quality are important.

As such the Jin clan took the refining part of the body refining name seriously. If other techniques are like a sponge, the Jin clan turns your body into a mana-flesh alloy.

As his crude body refining was extremely surface level, it was easy for him to adopt the methods of the Jin clan.

While structuring the mana in the body might be difficult for other people, with his masterful control over his mana as well as his grasp on flow, doing so was trivial for him.

The blue cycle was no different from any other body refining technique so he didn't have to subject his body to torture to structure the mana properly.

Following the extremely detailed instructions, he reorganized the mana in his bones as that was the first stage and they quickly lost their blue luster but slowly regained it as he put more and more mana into it.

"Holy shit, just how poorly did I do it. This is only the first cycle yet it has already absorbed 3 times as much."

With the new structure added, his bones greedily absorbed more and more mana, only stopping when it reached 5 times his original.

At this point they fully regained their blue color but before he could properly analyze the benefits it brought to him a stinging sensation took over his body that quickly turned into a burning pain.

Just when it started to feel like he was covered in biting fire ants, his entire body was covered by a golden light and the burning pain was covered by a soothing cold.

"I'm starting to value my talent more and more every day."

He could guess that nothing bad was happening to his body, but that didn't mean that he enjoyed the pain. And while he could take it if he had no other option, he was thankful that he didn't.

After an indeterminate amount of time had passed, the golden glow finally disappeared and his mysterious transformation was complete.

He knew that when every stat reached 100 the body would change to adapt to the new power it gained. And looking at his stats, he confirmed that that was the case. From the 99.99 it was stuck as, it was now at 121.2. (120 + 1%=121.2)

He was slightly taller, his muscles bulkier, his senses enhanced, and his originally short curly hair now reached his shoulders.

If someone saw him now, while a little on the short side, they would see him as a true warrior. One that stood the test of time and countless battles.

For him though, while he might have felt stronger, he wasn't sure. That change in his body didn't come for free: he was extremely hungry, his mana was dangerously low, his stamina drained and he was tired.

But above all of that, he felt heavy, and extremely so. He didn't know if it was because of the new structure in his bones or the adjustment of his body, but he was so heavy that he found it difficult to move properly.

As the effect of his talent was rapidly going away, the heavy feeling was getting worse and worse and he was struggling more and more to stay awake.

He didn't know what would happen if he fell asleep in his soul sea, but he wasn't going to have a choice in the matter in a few minutes. His mana was much too low to leave, and even if it wasn't he suspected that he wouldn't have been in the right state of mind to properly execute the spell.

With heavy eyelids he teleported away and made a small, shallow pool in the ground, connecting it to the ocean of the glowing liquid. He could feel just how low his body was in mana and his rate of absorption was already so high that his veins were glowing brighter than the ocean, so he was going to make it easy for his body to absorb as much mana as it needed.

He didn't know what would happen if his body was stifled of mana at this point, but he was certain that it wouldn't be a good thing.

"Thank god for these mana flowers, If I didn't find these I don't know what I would do now. If the mana ocean runs out while I am unconscious then I would get kicked out. I don't want that to happen, much less when I am asleep."

He stepped into the makeshift pool that he made directly next to the one with the eggs and quickly started to dream.

The moment that he was fully asleep, his rate of absorption shot through the roof and the already bright light turned into a blinding flash. It was so bright that it illuminated the somewhat dark continent as if the sun fell to the ground.

His body began to violently vibrate due to the sudden influx and so did the two eggs not that far away from him. As the one with the soul marking on the two of them, their rate of absorption was somewhat tide to him, so with the ridiculous rates that he was at, naturally they followed

It got to a point where it looked like there were 3 or 4 people somehow occupying the same space, but before it got any worse, 4 golden beams of light shot out from his talent orb.

With three of them hitting him and the two eggs, and the other shooting towards the floating book on the highest peak. If he was awake he would certainly be panicked, as it looked like his talent finally identified the book as a foreign object, but his non-existent worries would be misplaced.

After a few moments, another three shots of golden light came from the book, hitting the three of them.

Under the effects of the golden lights, the bodies of him and the eggs stopped vibrating so violently. While it was impossible to determine what was going on inside the eggs, for him his body was rapidly progressing through the stages of the blue cycle.

All over his body, mana was either being restructured and then absorbed, or being absorbed in the proper structure in the first place. Even his brain that he was the most hesitant of wasn't exempt from this process, much less his heart and lungs.

Under this accelerated progress through the blue cycle, it didn't take long for every part of his body to be fully restructured according to the Golden body refining technique, and as such, his stats were rising rapidly.

Even though it was 10 times more difficult, and even more so for him, to increase a stat after 100, he was blowing through that barrier like it was nothing, only stopping around 250. His overall strength more than doubled in only a few hours, but his body was going to need time to fully adjust, thankfully he wasn't going to be waking up anytime soon.
