Chapter 66 - Crack The Whip

For Li Feng, there was no need to constantly dwell on things that had already been decided. Money was merely a tool, and he did not engage in matches day after day solely for the purpose of earning such money. He continued to follow his routine.

In the blink of an eye, a week had passed, and a two-month-long closed military training was about to begin. He had already learned from his seniors that Yalang's military training was infamous for its cruelty. Not strict, but cruel. Some students even dropped out because they could not pass the rigorous training. This was Yalang, a top military academy that required determined students!

There was no talk of fairness or human rights. A military academy was a military unit, and a soldier was steel, was iron!

Some students had already begun to feel nervous, while others, such as Li Feng and Sarta, were impatient. They knew that not only would they be able to learn what they wanted, but also that there would be actual mobile suits. They would also engage in a "duel" during the training, which would be overseen by the instructor.

Large maglev transport vehicles carried the new students towards the military base on the outskirts. There, these new students would undergo two months of special training. If it were a normal outing, there would be laughter and joy on the bus. However, unlike other school military training, Yalang's students were serious, as if they were going to a battlefield.

This was, in fact, their first battlefield!

The maglev train sped along, and it was unclear where it was headed. They were getting farther and farther away from the school and the city. Half a day passed, and a silver steel fortress appeared before them. The maglev train came to a slow stop, and outside the military camp were already standing some officers who took the annual military training very seriously.

As they watched the school bus disappear into the distance, the new students felt a chill. The silver metallic fortress and the lush mountains surrounding it were vastly different from their previous urban life. A considerable number of students had probably never been to a place like this before.

The leader was a junior officer, who looked sternly at the group of chattering and lively students. It wouldn't take them long to learn what it meant to be a soldier, what they should and shouldn't do.

"I, Taiga, am your Chief Instructor for these two months. Starting today, forget your identity as a student and forget the outside world. Just remember that you are a soldier. I have three requirements for you. Listen carefully. First is obedience, second is obedience, and third is still obedience!"

The junior officer's sudden animalistic roar silenced the new students, who stared blankly at the somewhat ferocious officer. However, some students sneered and didn't care much.

"I don't care about your background or your origins. Here, you are all ordinary new recruits. Now, throw away your backpacks. Daily necessities have been prepared for you here. Arrive at the training ground in ten minutes. Anyone who is late will run five kilometers as punishment."

After speaking, Taiga led four sergeants and turned around to leave. They appeared to be moving slowly but quickly entered the military camp. As soon as Taiga turned around, Li Feng and a few others had already started running, rushing into the military camp alongside Taiga. The other students were stunned for a moment, then realized that they were already new recruits, and they rushed in a frenzy. Those who could pass the entrance exam for Yalang were certainly not fools, and the other side was not joking around.

The steel gate rumbled shut, leaving a pile of packages outside.

"It's like this every year. Do they think they are going on a field trip?"

"Sir, this batch has some students with good quality."

Taiga nodded. Not just good, but two of them had caught the attention of higher-ups. He had also received orders to pay attention to them. In addition, there were a few students who could not be touched, even though the military was supposed to treat everyone equally. The forces behind these few students were too powerful for a small officer like him to offend. Although he was dissatisfied, he had no choice. Orders were orders, and a soldier could not act according to his own ideas.

"Today, let me make it clear to you what a soldier is. You can go ahead and divide yourselves into groups."

"Yes!"

The four of them saluted together, their faces showing devilish smiles. Now it was time for training.

The training ground was easy to find, and the students quickly gathered in groups of three or five, standing around looking confused. While they might be talented in their studies, they had never encountered such an environment before. If it weren't for the large number of people, they probably wouldn't know what to do.

Li Feng had neither stayed with Mark nor with Tang Ling. They had agreed before the military training that if he was there, he could give them some help, but this was not a good thing. People must go through hardships in order to grow, and it was the same for Mark and Tang Ling.

Coincidentally, Li Feng noticed Sarta, who was more than ten meters away from him. This guy was also staring at him. Obviously, both of them were not concerned about such an environment. Sarta was too accustomed to this kind of life. Compared to the hellish training, this was paradise.

Four sergeants appeared, and the sergeant on the left, who was dressed like a bear, stepped forward and shouted, "Attention!"

Scornfully scanning the chaotic students, their task was to correct these guys' bad habits.

"Men on the left, women on the right, and those who are neither men nor women stand in the middle. What are you looking at? Immediately, right now, you bunch of idiots!"

The four sergeants bellowed, but the students' reaction was still very slow.

Crack! Boom!

The electric whip slammed onto the ground, the electric light flashing and making a loud noise, shocking the students, one by one... Was this military training or abuse?

"I protest. This is illegal, and it is also an insult to human dignity. We are students, and I will complain!"

A sergeant strode over to the male student, face to face, the bell-like eyes staring at the student, who was already almost scared out of his wits.

"This is the first time. I'll give you one chance. Here, there is only obedience. Those who do not obey will be damned immediately, understand?"

The sergeant's voice was very low, like a man-eating beast. The student who had just been talking about human rights nodded desperately, standing on the left immediately.

With an example, others were faster. Obviously, the other side was not joking. They only had two choices, to stay or to leave. They had fought hard to get into Yalang, and no one would leave. The third gender didn't exist, and soon the men and women separated.

"Hmph, we will teach you what a soldier really is here. Now, no one is allowed to move. Men for three hours, women for two hours. Anyone who moves will have to run a kilometer and add half an hour!"

The four sergeants split up in four directions, silently watching the students, as cold as death. The students dared not move. This was not a joke. Looking at the cold steel walls around them... their military training had begun!
