Hollow sat there wondering if these stats were normal. They seemed completely carried by his titles. He was quite surprised that he was actually the first person to level up. He assumed that Adrian would have an easier time leveling up due to being in a party. However, this made him think that the exp distribution must be terrible.
As he sat there looking through his stats sheets ignoring the 3 corpses of the lizards dissolved into nothingness.
Hollow approached the dissolving bodies. When he stuck a hand through one of the corpse's remnants it flaked and collapsed. Seeing a potential food source disappearing made him quite worried about the future. If they could not eat monsters then they would have to do normal methods of food gathering. This would be nearly impossible in an unknown environment. He hoped that they only dissolved due to his ignoring them.
Walking around he saw corpses strewn everywhere. He saw many mages and wondered if mana control was really that hard. Seeing a few items he picked them up. Sadly he was limited by the lack of a storage system or inventory.
[Apprentice Mage Staff]
- +2 Wisdom
- +2 intelligence
Hollow attempted to hold two swords, one in each of his hands and as he finished grabbing the second sword he realized that no matter how hard he pulled he could not lift it off the ground.
[Error, you do not have the skills necessary to dual-wield swords.]
Disappointed Hollow moved on to magic, the Closest to Death title said that it gave him an epic affinity. While thinking about his affinities a new stat sheet opened.
[Hollow][Afinities]
The affinity system will only show your affinities. The affinity level determines your ability to use the magic of that type. Lower affinity increases difficulty with using an element. Higher affinity increases the power of an element. Some elements will be hidden and must be discovered. [Checking mental knowledge][Affinity chart decided]
Affinities:
- [Fire](common){Authors Note: Hollow affinity for the main element is used to determine affinities for sub-elements. Some sub-elements have the involvement of multiple elements. ie: lava uses fire and earth}
- Sub affinities, [Lava](common)[Ash](uncommon)[Other affinities unknown]
- [Water](rare)
- Sub affinities, [Ice](rare)[Blood](rare)[Other affinities unknown]
- [Air](common)
- Sub affinities, [Lighting](uncommon)[Wind](uncommon)[Other affinities unknown]
- [Earth](common)
- Sub affinities:[affinities unknown]
[Error] [Superior affinity identified.][Affinity sealed] [Closest to Death title unseals death affinity]
Superior Element: Death(epic)
[Error] [Unknown level affinity found] [Affinity sealed]
Surprised by the popup and the multiple Error messages Hollow froze for a second. He was quite surprised that the system could actually give error messages. Seeing this made him realize that the system might not be perfect.
Seeing the affinities Hollow was unsure of how to feel. He had some reasonable Ice, lighting, and blood affinities but everything else was unusable. Not seeing any other options he decided to focus on death magic for now.
Pointing the staff at one of the stumps he attempted to mobilize his mana, a stat he had never used before. Skills like Slash barely consumed any mana. Straining his body to attempt to do something Hollow was quite surprised when nothing occurred. Switching over to his sword. He practiced his [Veteran Slash] focusing on the movement of mana and attempting to force more mana to go along with the slash. For the first few times, there was no difference, eventually though the slash started to get bigger. While concentrating on this Hollow forgot the most important thing. There was not a single safe space in this new world. He was reminded of it when he heard a massive roar from an animal behind him.
