As Ceris and Eri were talking through telepathy, no one knew their conversation. Ceris wasn't sure why Ivy helped her so she was a bit wary of Ivy. Being cautious was better than to be betrayed later. If someone treated her kindly and wholeheartly then Ceris would repay the kindness multiple folds and same was with the hate, betrayal. Being a bit introvert and having less chance of social engagement, she was better on her own. Her life had taught her not to believe in anyone, every wish and help comes with a price tag. But, she was a good listener, Ceris had patience with Ivy's non-stop chattering.
With a big mouth around, she got an opportunity to know and familiarise with the new world. Since arriving in the fantasy world, Ceris had nightmares occasionally but still she couldn't sleep or eat well. She would vomit whatever she ate and the taste of food in this world was YUCK…not to her liking.
Due to a lack of food and sleep, she was easily exhausted.
On their fifth day of journey, it was no moon's day, both Ivy and Ceris parted to rest after dark. As soon as Ceris touched her bed, she fell asleep.
Eri lost her connection with Ceris. As it was about to be midnight, Ceris' brows were frowning, teeth clenching and she was sweating intensely, her head was turning left and right, and her body was twitching. She was having intense nightmares.
In Ceris's nightmare, a bloody red large bird was trapped by a group of cloaked men. The wings were broken but still it didn't fight with those men. A petite unconscious girl was taken hostage by them. One of the men had a sword pointed to the girl and bargained with the bird to surrender in exchange of the life of the girl.
The bird was captured and hidden in the crater of a dead volcano. Day by day, the girl was given meat to eat, being hungry for a long time she happily finished it; unknown to her the piece of meat was cut out from the bird. It continued for more than a month when the girl started to feel nostalgic from the meat as if something was missing out.
She started to avoid the meat but those people persuaded her to eat at first. One day, by chance while playing with other kids, the girl stumbled to the crater. A bird with only bone came to her view. With a glance, she identified her bird and knew where the meat came from. Her stomach churned to the point she vomited out the bile and cried out. The bird with only a breath left, tried to console her but she heard nothing and continued to remorse.
A group of men arrived and grabbed her and punished the bird in front of her eyes to the point of death.
All of a sudden, the scenario changed. The same girl was chained by shackles on both legs and arms in a dark room and mouth gagged. When the girl tried to move the chain, it created a sound that reverted in the room.
The girls could only see a pair of red eyes in the room which would hypnotise and control her mind. They attempted to forcefully erase her memory. Then, someone would enter the room and force her to drink some liquid that smelled like stale blood.
Even in her hypnotized state, she couldn't swallow the thing. At that moment, her head begins to feel a sharp pain and she opens her mouth to scream; the liquid enters through her throat. After that, everyone leaves her alone.
This process continues for several times. A burning sensation was all over her body as if several ants were biting her. Her back was covered with dark patches while on the front black webs were formed. The patches on her back felt like something was crawling beneath her skin. She was in intense pain…
Suddenly, Ceris felt her body shaking and someone was calling her. Her senses returned back but before responding, Ceris rushed out of the room and vomited out. The nightmare was deep in her memory that her tears were dropping continuously.
Her tummy was turbulent, heart heavy and mind filled with regret and hate towards herself. She was in a state of emotional breakdown while kneeling on the ground and bowing her head; not differentiating if the nightmares were only a dream or a glimpse of forgotten memory.
"Hey, are you alright? What happened? Why did you rush out? Oh my goodness…" The sound was familiar to Ceris and filled with unknown concern.
Despite someone being present, Ceris couldn't divert her thoughts. Suddenly, the person hugged Ceris and chanted some spells. The warmth transmitted and Ceris was slowly out of trance.
"Are you unwell?" Ivy asked while observing her oddly.
Noticing everything was only a nightmare, Ceris patted her chest and hugged Ivy tightly. Seeing something on her arms, Ceris backed off but to Ivy, she showed a smile and shook her head. Adjusting her clothes, Ceris tried to hide her body.
"You screamed once and when I knocked on the door there was no response so without your permission I entered the room. Did you have a nightmare earlier? Maybe I should have cast a spell for you earlier. I know I am not powerful enough to remove the effect of your nightmare but it could have helped to alleviate some effects. Shall I perform it?" Ivy asked with a heartache seeing Ceris situation.
Ceris was confused with the idea of alleviating the pain with spell and doubted Ivy's identity but eventually nodded her head.
"It's my first try so I can't be sure if it works. Umm, why don't you be fresh first and we will perform the magic later on?...Yes, let's do that." Ivy was enthusiastic with her own ideas.
Nodding the head, Ceris returned back to her room, took her upper clothes off and stood in front of the mirror...
