Nodding the head, Ceris returned back to her room, hurriedly closed the door and windows, took her upper clothes off and stood in front of the mirror.
She was shaken to her core by her reflected image.
"Eri…eri, are you there? Come out." Calling the cat anxiously, Ceris grabbed the bedsheets and covered her body.
"What the hell Ce…how could you cut contact with me without prior information? Are you trying to abandon me? You know I have to watch you on no moon day, how could you not respond to me? It was dangerous. You—" the cat was whining continuously with an angry tone.
Ceris was so focused on her arms that she didn't hear Eris. The silence irritated Eri so she was about to give her piece of mind when she lifted her head and looked at Ceris, her voice went off. The claws which were pointed at Ceris were frozen in the air.
The silence continued for five minutes until Ceris called Eri through telepathy. No sounds from outside could be heard either.
"Ce, what happened to you? What's on your back?" In a low voice, Eri made a conversation.
"Is it behind too?" Ceris' voice was shaking.
"Don't tell me, that…that thing is not only on your back—" The cat was shocked when she walked in front of Ceris. "How...how did it happe--"
"Something different happened this time. The nightmare is turning more vivid as if I am really a part of it. Is it the backlash for arriving here, going against the rules of nature?" Ceris chuckled, mocking herself.
"No, it can't be. There could be a possibility as if it is a warning. Tell me everything without missing a single event and also why did you cut your connection with me last night?" Eri was serious.
"Why would I cut connection with my dear Eri ?" Ceris told everything from returning back to rest and details of her nightmare.
"You mean you saw a blood sacrifice and something like performing those cruel acts? Were you thinking about our previous conversation while sleeping or did that conversation trigger something within you?" Eri looked directly into Ceris's eyes.
Rolling her eyes, "I was asleep as soon as I touched the bed, when will I have time to think? I didn't shun you. I had such a strange effect in my nightmare and it appeared even after being awake. In the dream the girl had black web like veins after the bloody drink which was the same which appeared in my body.."
"Umm, your back has black patches too. It's not dark like your front but if anyone looks closer, it's possible to see. Maybe there is some link between your nightmare and your suffering.
Ce, your suffering has worsened day by day. At first, you would only lose your senses for a month and you couldn't sleep or eat well. Then, you would wake up in a different place than where you slept. But now the worst of all, you were self-harming and all this. Don't know what's more to come." Eri was equally worried.
Taking a deep breath, "Do you have any idea how to cover it? I can't let others know about it. We have to move on whatever happens. Who knows maybe the cure is somewhere out there."
Eri: "Umm, I am together with you in this. Cover your whole body with clothes and we will find a way to hide it later. You need to meet Ivy soon so hurry up."
"Baby, I don't think you are hurt this time, otherwise you would have no energy to speak. Isn't it good that only I am in pain?" Ceris tried to lighten the mood.
"Good, my a**. I am hurt too but not seriously like you. Do you always forget we have interconnected souls? We will both suffer if one of us is hurt… Ce, we will fight against all odds and we will find a way to end this pain, return back to our home and try every delicacy of the world. Now move on." The cat snorted.
"Sure."
"Ce, is your body in pain?" Eri caressed her back.
"Nah, it's a bit itchy and uncomfortable. Luckily, no scars were formed on my face." Applying some makeup to cover the scar on the body and wrapped up in suitable clothing, Ceris left her room, walked towards Ivy's room, and knocked.
The room opened with a little force and Ivy was nowhere to be found. All the things in the room were scattered around as if a major fight had occurred in the room. The windowsill was broken, a light smell of blood was lingering on the room.
The cat sat on Ceris shoulder, "Ce, how fierce was the fight here? There is a smell of blood, do you think Ivy was injured?"
"Maybe Eri, we need to find her soon. She may be expecting some help."
"Why intervene in her private affair? I think she has a hidden agenda to be with you. She was sort of acting mysterious and very alert as if hiding from someone." Eri scoffed.
"An hour ago she was in my room and approached to help me alleviate my pains. She was trying to help me, a mere stranger so she can't be people with bad intentions. She reminds me of my past… it shouldn't be long before her disappearance. I can't neglect her. Eri, let's help her. " Biting her lips, Ceris made a difficult decision.
"Are you sure? Maybe the real her is hidden under a veil."
"Whatever, she hasn't harmed us or put us in any danger. Instead she helped us in this new world. She is the first friend I made and she treated us kindly. We can't treat her kindly with no return, can we?" Ceris patted the cat.
"Ce, why are you so kind? Hope one day your kindness won't work against you. I won't agree on something that will put both of us in danger. Say what's on your mind?"The cat couldn't reject its master.
"Let's find her whereabouts and observe from far. If she is in need of emergency help then we will intervene, otherwise stay neutral. You will agree on this, won't you?"
"Okay, not a bad idea but how are we going to find her?" Eri asked seriously.
Chuckling, Ceris was looking at Eri with some evil smirk.
Eri shivered with Ceris gaze and as if understanding the meaning behind the gaze jumped far from Ceris and shouted, "NOOO—"
