Chapter 6 - Warrior Rank 3

"What the hell?" Wilder struggled

Two men had walked into the game cabin and pulled Wilder out against his will.

He had the right to struggle.

Wilder looked around the room and realized that there were a few other people in here, but there was only one person he could recognize.

It was the lady that had dragged him on her shoulder to the cabin, and beside her were several men in crimson-red uniform.

"That was the last draw, Wilder; now it's time to drop it. Go back home and get an average job picking fruit like you were meant to do in the first place." one of the men in crimson said to Wilder with a mocking tone.

Wilder didn't know this guy, nor did he have any idea of what this person was talking about, so he didn't know the appropriate thing to say.

But what he could see was the look of disappointment on the face of the girl from before.

"What's all this about?" Wilder inquired with a confused expression.

"We saw you head out of the building. The deal was you would log in and not come back out until you got to warrior rank. Don't pretend we have video evidence of you leaving the building. You have lost," one of the men said while pointing at Wilder like he was some sort of liar.

The previous owner of this body was in the warrior rank before, and he was in the same team with the lady in the room, but he was schemed against, causing him to lose several levels in a short period of time.

This was a big blow to the team of five; they had no choice but to get downgraded to a lower tier or disband and join new teams.

So the previous owner of this body made a deal with these people.

He would have to remain logged on for a maximum of four days, and if he doesn't get to the warrior rank, they would not only have to disband their group, but he and the girl would also forfeit their scholarship. Unfortunately, the owner of this body died before accomplishing anything.

And now they were here to collect.

"Anya, don't worry about it; my senior Jonathan already gave me permission to invite you to our team once this team is disbanded," the guy in the crimson uniform said to the girl who had put Wilder in the cabin earlier.

He seemed to be the one in charge of this group.

"And as for Him, seize his medallion," he said, as he turned to look over at Wilder.

Not even a second later, the men who held Wilder by both arms started searching him from head to toe.

"I found it," one of them said with some glee as he held the medallion in his hand.

Seeing that the man in charge nodded his head in approval,

Anya gritted her teeth.

She didn't want the team to be disbanded, but she also didn't want to lose her scholarship either.

But did she have a choice? Wilder had lost fair and square.

"Boss…." The guy that took the Wilderness Medallion said with a bit of hesitation in his voice.

"hm?" The guy in charge looked over with a smile.

Clearly, he was happy that things had turned out this way. Wilder had always been a thorn in his side, and the leader of his team had been coverting Anya for a while.

He had succeeded in killing two birds with one stone, so why wouldn't he be happy?

"I think there is something wrong here..." the guy said with a stunned look.

"What do you mean by that?" Suddenly, the guy in charge had a change in his expression.

"I..." but before the other guy could even respond, the medallion was snatched out of his hand by the guy in charge.

He looked at the medallion for a few seconds, but his brain didn't seem to be processing what was in front of him.

"This is level 3. What's wrong with it?" he asked.

"Check the rank." The other guy pointed forward with shaky hands.

"Warrior rank?" His eyes opened wide when he saw this.

For a brief moment, he thought that he was dreaming. Wilder had been beset by several men and beaten to death in game, not only causing him grievous injuries but also downgrading his rank to commoner rank and a few levels below.

But now? Not only had he managed to step into the warrior rank once again, he had gotten to level 3 of the warrior rank.

That was absurd.

But it was right in front of him, and he couldn't do anything to change that.

Anya, who was at the side, also leaned over to try and get a sneak peek at the medallion.

No one was more surprised than she was; she was the one that forcefully logged Wilder back into the game barely 3 hours ago; she saw his rank then, but now it was totally different.

"This doesn't make sense."

She knew that it was nearly impossible to hack the High Heaven game if not the creatures would have done so without a second thought.

High heaven was the cheat code humans have been using for a while now to gain strength. The creatures had tried to hack into it but had failed time and time again. How could the measly wilder succeed in something that the creatures couldn't?

"Then how did he do it?" she wondered.

After a brief moment of intensely staring at the medallion as if, if he stared at it long enough, it would magically go back to commoner rank, the guy in charge finally raised his head.

He then tossed the medallion to one side of the bed.

"Let's go," he said to his men.

There was no need to argue here; the medallion could not lie. Wilder had succeeded in getting into the warrior rank, so they had no choice but to leave him alone.

But before they could make their way out of the room, a voice resounded.

"What about my winnings?"

The person who had just spoken was, of course, Wilder.

He inferred that although they used the language deal, it was clearly a bet between both parties; he would lose his spot here if he lost, but weren't they supposed to give him something if he won?

The guy in charge looked back at Wilder with a frown on his face before turning around to leave.

"Boom!" He slammed the door.

Anya stood to the side a little stunned, but after a brief moment, she facepalmed.

"Such an idiot," she thought.

Only Wilder would ask for a reward from an enforcers.

But her expression later changed to one of joy.

She was happy, of course, and why wouldn't she be? They had succeeded in keeping their team together, and not only that, but Wilder had surprisingly gotten to level 3 of the warrior rank.
