Samaelias' POV
I felt like a ton of bricks toppled over and fell on me. My head is killing me! I had been slipping in and out of consciousness for a while and I think I heard Sam crying? Not so sure yet.
Finally having enough energy in my body I peeled my eyes open slowly. Wouldn't want the lights to hurt too much. At first everything was a blurry mess and my eyes hurt so much I'm convinced I fell in a bucket of salt and lime.
After a minute my sight got slightly better and I wasn't staring at blurry objects again. The ceiling was painted a creamy white with gold birds dotting a few places, at the right side there was an open walk-in closet and a few steps to the left of it another door with gold swirling designs was closed. On the left side there were two doors, the first one looked just like the rest but the second door was a light blue, A side cupboard with a jug of water on it. Light blue curtains covered the window areas and dark blue drapes were tied letting light from the outside world flood the room. A warm creamy white duvet covered most of my body and the bed was extremely soft. Compared to my last room at that horrible kingdom this room is definitely huge! Too huge for comfort.
Gulping down a glass of water because why not? Besides, my throat feels parched and tight. I walk to one of the open floor length windows only to realise that it was a sliding glass door which opens up to a beautiful balcony.
Unlike the room with softer colors this one was a huge contrast to it. Plush red cushions, a pullout couch, dark red wooded footstools, black marble table and dark red tiled floors, black flower vases with red roses and an empty bird cage. To be honest it's a sight for sore eyes.
From the looks of it this place seems like what the high rise people of society would live in. I could never afford this. Time to go explore.
Walking back into the room I could not help but appreciate the beauty of the place.
Now to find the kitchen. I'm starving!
Third person POV.
Unknown to Samaelia were the eyes that has been watching her every move from the second her eyelids fluttered open. Those black obsidian orbs kept following her every move. From when she observed the room with a curious expression and when she stepped out to the balcony and back into the room.
Now those same orbs peered at her as she sauntered her way through the hallways humming a tune all too familiar while she carelessly strolled down the stairs around the place. Those orbs kept observing her as she walked around the place like she owned it. Tsk. Such infuriating confidence radiated off her without her even realising it. Maybe it was time to put that confidence to the test? Ah, but that would fail horribly. Time and again that confidence had been proved to be backed by very strong skills and a sound and sharp mind.
Samaelias' POV
'Now what can a girl eat in this fridge. I'll think of a way to locate Sam once I've quenched this hunger that's about to devour my soul' she thought to herself.
"Let's see. There's cheese, bologna, broccoli (yuk!), apples, eggs, milk, chocolate, that seems to be a cake up there but that won't do! Turkey, pork ew! chicken, fish, and a few other fruits. Okay I can work with this." she absentmindedly kept mumbling to herself as she checked around the kitchen for pots and pans and whisked the eggs and flour and a whole lot more.
What was supposed to be a quick fix meal that was not supposed to take more than thirty minutes to prepare turned into a five hours cooking spree. When she was done there was a wide spread of steaming hot food on the kitchen island.
There was bruschetta, miso soup, kimbap, nigiri, French toast, pancakes, Spanish waffles, spicy chicken nuggets, tacos, cheese quesadilla, pizza Margherita, sesame chicken, wagyu beef, Japanese matsutake, baked feta with sumac and grapes, beetroot and blackberry cured salmon, Carpaccio scallops, chargrilled mackerel, spicy lobster with edible gold leaf, paella, tofu, roti, Italian burritos, fried shrimp, mussels, cuttlefish and white rice with herb oils and salt, dal, pelmeni, beef stroganoff, blini, poutine, butter tarts, tourtière, nanamo bars, bannock, Montreal smoked meat, Saskatoon berry pies, peameal bacon, spicy lobster rolls, back bacon, deboned ribs, wine soaked chicken and a huge bowl of mixed fruit salad.
Looking at everything laid out so mouth-wateringly beautiful it kind of dawned on her that she might have gone a little overboard with the cooking. But hey! This was her way of showing appreciation to whoever owned this house she woke up in and maybe she just felt a little glutenous but she deserved it for her hard work! She was not going to feel guilty!
Setting a plate for herself, she was about to dig happily into her meal when she was interrupted.
"You know I hate how confident you alway are. You even turned my kitchen to a mini restaurant with your little cooking spree but I do admit that it was fun watching you cooking and prancing... hey! What was that for? Did you really have to throw a lobster roll at me?"
"Shut up idiot! You're such a creep you know. How can you watch me suffer for hours on end cooking my soul out and you just spring out of nowhere? If I knew this was your place I wouldn't have wasted so much of my time cooking a thank you spread for whoever had been taking care of me while I was out like a dead body for who knows how long." Samaelia sneered at him with a glare.
"Alright, chill okay? You know how much I love your coo..will you stop throwing food at me? It's freaking hot on my delicate skin!"
"No I will not! You scoundrel! This is preposterous!" And a chicken thigh came with her words at his face. Luckily he caught it and began to chow away.
"Fine. I'm sorry I let you do all the work yourself. I promise to help out next time."
"You better! Now sit down and eat properly. You're eating like a three year old pig." Came her snorted reply.
"And I want to know what happened the day I blacked out"
